He is very outgoing, very easy to talk to, listens carefully and explains everything really well. He's also very focused on your comfort during procedures. You can tell he has a real passion for periodontics and the latest science and technologies behind it. Dr. Deroo became short in his dealing with me and lacked the same compassion and understanding that he delivered during the former part of my treatment. Because of this inconsistent disposition and poor communication skills, I would not recommend anyone (as I had done previously) to this doctor. Even if he came to me and said all of your teeth need to be pulled, I would oblige - instantly. He is incredibly gentle, calm and kind even with the more uneasy and squirmy patients like me. And, most important, he is insanely talented. He knows the exact amount of novocaine to use so I won't flinch - even once. He is also super discreet with the needle too. He has done the gamut of dental work on this 30-year-old mouth and you would never be able to tell. He recently fixed a tooth I chipped and made it look even better than before. However, when I arrived for my actual appointment, this same lady was completely unaware of who I was and stated that I was "nowhere in the system," despite the fact that I had an appointment card in hand. She then told me they could "try to fit me in" and that I would need to wait about 30 minutes because the doctor "had an appointment." Ironically, that appointment was supposed to be she sarcastically said, "It's your choice," while throwing her hands up in a dismissive manner, as if she truly did not care whether I stayed or left. I responded that if this is how new patients are treated, then no thank you.
