I will speak in the following lines about Dr. Josh Brower and his business, Smiles for Siouxland. I'm a US citizen, immigrant from Europe, how very likely, are the ancestors of Dr. Brower. Back in October, 2016, I went to Dr. Brower's office for dental work. I returned to him, in February, 2017, believing that I have the right, like every patient, to ask him some questions about the dental work he has done to me. But it seems that, in the opinion of Dr. Brower, patients of foreign origin have not the same rights just like other patients. Or maybe the immigrants, have no rights whatsoever. I dared to addressed my questions for him, through his assistants. Five minutes later, when I got to him, he was extremely furious and angry for my boldness to ask him questions. He insulted and offended me and he made defamatory appreciations about the other dentist who made some dental work to me, which incidentally was my son-in-law. Dr. Brower showed considerable lack of professionalism and lack of professional ethics. He told me that the other dentist (my son-in-law) had no idea of ​​what he was saying and doing. And if you are not American (which my son-in-law isn't), you do not know anything. That only Americans, like him, know what they're doing. You should know, Dr. Brower, that my son-in-law and millions of other dentists worldwide, know at least as much of your profession, as you know. How much arrogance and defiance !!! Shame on you Dr. Brower !!! Dr. Brower you're JUST A DENTIST. You are not God on earth. You're not a surgeon, a brain surgeon or not even an eye surgeon. You haven't ever saved any lives. Let arrogance aside, YOU'RE JUST A DENTIST. No doubt that you are a competent dentist. I think you're a very good dentist. But that doesn't give you the right to offend people, to be arrogant and think you're almighty. Modesty is a quality that makes the difference. The lack of modesty abolishes you as a professional. To state about colleagues of yours that they don't know what they're saying, that is horrible, it's total lack of modesty and ethics. Finally, Dr. Brower told me not to go again to his office, because we do not have the same philosophy. I felt badly humiliated, offended and discriminated against. DR. To start what is there to say about Smiles for Siouxland? The office is beautiful with hidden treasures of incredible woodworking, or art hidden everywhere. You may find a beautiful reception desk, a stone representation of a very famous painting, or even a giant burl tree! Now on to the important parts Patient care and interaction. I have worked with Dr. Brower and Dr. Tuttle for over 3 years now. In that time my wife and I have had a wide range of work done from simple fillings, to extractions, root canals, and even to this day my wife is in the process of getting an implant! They both focus on your comfort and care and are willing to provide as much detail as you ask for. They also provide options if appropriate, in one instance Dr. Brower put it to me this way " There are a few ways we can do this, example A, or here is what I would tell you if you were my own sister, Example B." Dr. Brower has a way of guiding you through your care to get you to the best result for you. My first visit to Dr. Brower was to have a wisdom tooth extracted, and I have been told over and over they would be terribly painful to remove because they have long roots with a j hook(would cause trauma to the bone to remove) Dr. Brower was so precise and careful there was no pain. He gave me 2 ibuprofen when I left and I never needed another pain med. As far as the staff as a whole, they are friendly, some of them funny, and wanting to make you feel comfortable. The interaction you see between patients and staff as they walk in the door is always smiling and happy, and it feels like a family! I am not sure I can even begin to explain the impact that Dr. Brower and his staff have made in my life in the last 2 weeks. Dental work was the thing I put on the back burner for many years. As a single parent my kids came first health, dental, whatever. At almost 50 I have begun to understand that waiting was not a good choice. Dr Brower has made it possible for me to start saving my teeth and work with what i have. He and his staff have been there for me through all of the fears and tears I have shed. When I had believed that there was no real hope Dr. Brower amazingly dropped in on my appointment just before Christmas and made a dream come true for me that I will be forever grateful to him and Sioux Falls Dental Health team. Having had the same dentist my whole life up until this visit I wasn't sure what to expect; however, as soon as I walked in I was greeted with a firm handshake from Robert & I didn't have to wait too long before I was called into the back. From there the dental hygentist took great care of me and my teeth, & Dr. Brower gave me an excellent consultation as I was made aware of issues I had not known about prior to my visit here.
