When going in for a consult for my daughters, I was less than excited to sit through a video they…read moreplay in front of children about they effects of a poor smile resulting in suicidal tendencies and how orthodontics are important in preventing low self esteem which leads to depression etc. While I think being aware of the causes and awareness of suicide and low self esteem are important, I found this video highly inappropriate to play in front of two ten year old girls. Neither had doubts about their smile before walking into this office and both walked out feeling like their smile was less than what it should be. They were referred by our dentist due to crowding and neither related crowding teeth to an unfortunate smile. When the orthodontist came in he even made a comment near the end of the consult saying that when he's done they (the girls) will be happier with their smile. In front of my girls who had no self doubts. Getting in the car one of my girls asked..."do I not have a good smile mom?" I was infuriated. Not to mention I feel like they tried bribing my girls with a goody bag before we even decided to begin services there. The doctor at one point turning to them and saying, "you want me to work with you, don't you?" At around 5pm that evening their automated phone service called and said we missed our appointments for them! So I had to call and remind them that we were in fact at our appointment and of course IT was blamed for the confusion. I will be finding a different orthodontist and would not recommend this office to anyone I know.

He reshaped more teeth to get things fitting right. It's better, but I still hate how much changed when I just wanted one tooth pushed back in place. It was a ten minute appointment that turned into ninety as Dr. Heinz really took the time to see what was wrong with my bite. However, I still wish I never got the braces. My bite fit better before braces and without the need to reshape multiple teeth. Again this is specific to my case in which I only wanted minor changes but ended up getting a lot more. Again being fair, Dr. Heinz is incredibly kind and gracious with his time. He heard and addressed my issues. Dr. Heinz listened to my complaints and genuinely cared about my concerns rather than just brushing them off like Dr. Kruse did. If you have any concerns about orthodontic work at all, Dr. Heinz will really take the time to explain everything!
