I have been a patient pf Dr. Jacobson for several years and have had extensive work done for one…read morereason or another. He and his staff are like family to me now. Ha, ha! Seriously, Dr. Jacobson is extremely gentle, caring, and informative to the nth degree. If you have a fear of dentists, you'll rapidly get over it in this office. My review lists me as from San Francisco. I am a 49ers fan, but I live where Dr. practices, in G. J., CO

Let me start by saying that I am the biggest chicken about going to the Dentist - I hate the shots,…read morethe machines, everything. I have always had dentists that didn't believe me when I said I could feel it, so I dread going to the dentist! The dentist I had before Dr Dave was simply in it for the money - to replace every filling and do everything she could think of to squeeze another procedure out of me and my husband. So I am a skeptic for sure. But Dr Dave has turned me around. He listens, takes extra care to make sure I am comfortable - and he is really good at what he does, and FAST! I want to get out of that chair as quick as possible, and he is so good as well as being fast. He recently discovered a big problem in a cracked tooth I had - he referred me to a specialist. He could have done a crown himself and put the $$ in his pocket, but he said that he didn't believe that would be in my best interests. So he went that extra mile and I am very impressed! The entire office staff is wonderful, caring, and happy - great customer service. He also spent a lot of cash making his office safe because of COVID, from air purifiers in each room, to a state of the art air filtration system for the entire office suite that protects the air in his offices from the others in the building and sanitizes it. Jacobson Family Dental is the best! We are patients for life! I hope he doesn't ever retire!

I never thought I would be writing a review about a dentists, but I have been so impressed by Dr…read more Bichon and his staff that I felt I had to jump on here and give them two thumbs up. I have had several procedures done here in the last 2 years (extractions, filling, cleaning) and each one was clearly explained, carefully performed, and monitored over time. The charges were accurate, they worked with my insurance and really took good care of my teeth.

I broke a tooth while traveling through Gunnison. I was a bit suspicious of Dr. Bishon's online…read morereputation as he seems to get 5 star reviews every couple of days on local.intuit.com. Nobody has 99% satisfaction and the only way a dentist is going to get that many reviews consistently is if they are offering some sort of discount or just flat out purchasing them. As the other dentist in town seemed to have spent a few bucks buying reviews as well and the dentist (out of town) that a local recommended me to couldn't see me for two days, I went with Dr. Bishon and hoped for the best. The office is quite nice. It's clean and you can make yourself a single serving coffee or have a bottle of water while you wait. His radiology equipment is up to date and you will see pictures of your teeth on a large screen monitor in real time. X-ray exposures cost about 30 bucks a pop and you probably won't be told that ahead of time. Dr. Bishon was courteous and professional as he was examining my tooth. As we were discussing treatment options, I began to have my doubts about Dr. Bishon's motives in his recommendations. I found Dr. Bishon's advice to be valuable - it did cost about 6 bucks a minute. We discussed a crown. He said he thought he could put a crown on it. Turn around time from the lab though is 2-3 weeks and I did not have that amount of time to stay in Gunnison. What I found odd, was that when I asked about an implant (at 3x the cost of a crown), Dr. Bishon said that the prognosis for the tooth with a crown was bad long-term. Moments before he had been offering to contact the lab and try to get a rush order if I could give him a drop dead date on leaving town. As we discussed the implant process, I decided that I felt more comfortable having my regular dentist perform the procedure (there is a 3-4 month wait in between steps and I have worked with him for years). I asked Dr. Bishon if he could place a temporary filling until I could get to my regular dentist. At this point, it seems I had misunderstood the nature of the day's dental visit. Dr. Bishon informed me that he had two other patients and he didn't have time to work on my tooth today, but if I could come back the next morning, he could 'take care of that for me'. Now, the only reason I was in Dr. Bishon's office in the first place was because the dentist an actual person recommended couldn't see me until the following day. Whatever, I just wanted to eat a sandwich! The next day, I got my tooth filled. It took about 7 minutes of Dr. Bishon's time - not including duplicated pleasantries from the previous day. But first, I had the joy of his assistant sticking four fingers in my mouth, vertically, for no medical purpose, as I was mid-sentence. I'm an adult. If you don't want to talk to me, fine. Quieting someone by putting your hand inside their mouth is just... bizarre. The 7 minutes I spent with Dr. Bishon's hands in my mouth were even weirder. He threw out several 'folk sayings' for the edification of myself and his assistant. "Pennywise is pound foolish" and '"I'll trip over a dime to pick up a penny". I'd never heard the second. I stand edified. The previous day, he had spun from '500 today and the rest when I put in the crown' to not having 7 minutes to fix a broken tooth so I could eat. I do believe Dr. Bishon may have, personally, taken offense that I chose to use the bare minimum service to make the pain stop while still retaining a dentist I am comfortable with for major surgery. His minimum service (a temporary filling, x-ray, and exam over the course of two days) was about the same as two permanent fillings at my normal dentist. At the end of the (next) day, I can chew and the office was clean enough that i don't worry about infection. As Dr. Bishon helpfully pointed out, if I'm not happy, I can always sue him. Obviously, I'm not going back. If you choose to use Dr. Bishon's services, I recommend asking lots of questions and choosing what you believe to be the right treatment for you. If you choose less than the 'Cadillac Plan', you might want to have a thick skin. I believe Dr. Bishon to be a qualified dentist. He probably won't mutilate you. I just find his lack of professional behavior to be distasteful. UPDATE: 27 hours after my appointment ended, the filling has broken off. It is essentially, the same broken chunk of enamel I had in my gum before I went to see Dr. Bishon.

I specifically chose this office because I needed urgent help with periodontal disease and wanted…read moreto get back on a 3-month cleaning schedule. The first appointment went fine, but ever since has been a mess. A few days before my second appointment, less than a week later, the office started texting me that "someone else is interested in your appointment, so you must confirm or we'll give it away." I had already scheduled that visit in person with the hygienist and made clear I desperately needed it, yet they treated my spot like it was negotiable. That's not patient care--that's games. I ended up cancelling, because I have lost trust in this company completely. The billing was no better. At my first visit, I was suddenly told the insurance they had confirmed as accepted was now "lapsed" and they couldn't bill it. There was even a handwritten note about this issue that followed me through the entire process that day--never corrected, never explained. I only went through with treatment because I was in extreme pain and couldn't wait, but the handling of it was unprofessional and sloppy. It feels like this office does not value patients, even ones who will spend thousands annually on periodontal care and remain consistent, long-term clients. I'm not sure what a patient has to do to secure an appointment and have it honored, but this seems to be an industry-wide problem at this point. Bottom line: I should not have to fight to keep an appointment I scheduled or be treated like my care is optional. I also shouldn't have to wonder whether the office can actually bill the insurance they say they accept. I'm still searching for a dentist in town who can simply schedule, honor the appointment, and provide consistent care. It should not be this hard to get a cleaning.

Best staff in town! They have exceptional service and tend to their clients with their best…read moreinterest.
