Over the years we have followed him and have comfortably landed here at Dentistry for Children and are in love with his staff as well as more than grateful for his continued care. I have never once had a child suffer from anxiety, or display reservations leading up to their appointments which have involved cleanings, pulpotomies, extractions, even wisdom teeth extractions without being fully sedated. The level of knowledge and skill pertaining to things dental is extraordinary as well as their intuition while dealing with individual personalities and bedside manner. We live in Meridian but depending on our schedule are more than happy to make the drive to any location to receive the care we have grown accustomed to and so appreciate. I have referred countless families needing care to Dentistry for Children, specifically Dr. Jeff Davis and have only received rave reviews at the care their children received and their overall experience. I would be surprised if not all reviews echo my thoughts.

Here's a breakdown: We had a change in insurance. I have had this happen at other practices and they instructed me to provide updated insurance at my earliest but in the meantime they will invoice for the visit. Keep in mind, we have been going there for years, so they know us. Instead, they stated I had to pay in full while I was there, and if I didn't, I will have to pay a $50 cancellation fee for both daughters totaling $100 and reschedule, just because I didn't have my updated insurance info at the time. This is despite the fact that I have had my three children seen there for at least the last 4-5 years, with no issues with paying our invoices. They treated us like complete strangers and were only concerned about money, not even showing the slightest amount of understanding or care. The last concern is when I asked the front receptionist to speak with the doctor, she stated in a rude tone that the doctor was busy with other clients, which is strange since it was during the time the doctor was to be treating my daughters. The lobby was empty and there were no other patients walking in or waiting, which tells me it was an outright lie and she didn't want me to voice my customer service concerns with the doctor. It is very unfortunate that they have put money above long term relationships and care of their customers. I highly recommend not using this practice, as they are very unprofessional and care the least about their clients.

Summary: -The dental assistant restrained our child as a first resort and without consent. -They never checked for numbness before drilling and refused to stop when she screamed that it hurt. -The treatment plan we created with Dr. Phillips was contradicted at the actual procedure. -Because of our experience, we worry that many children are told they don't need a numbing shot, and then this dentistry holds them down and ignores their screams of pain -They did not communicate what was going to happen or ask permission Dr. Phillips was nice and patient. She explained two options, reassured us we could change our mind, and told us our daughter would not need to be numbed. When we returned, Dr. Phillips was on maternity leave. The assistant, Angela, was upset by our choice of a filling. She insisted the filling would likely become infected and cause sepsis. She repeatedly stated that she had never seen a cavity that big treated with just a filling. She gave so much medical advice that we thought she was a dentist. We said we still wanted the filling. She then said our daughter would need numbing, contradicting Dr. Phillips. While upsetting, in hindsight we are glad they numbed her, because they would not have stopped to see if she was in pain. From there, the assistant was unnecessarily controlling. She forced our daughter to wear sunglasses for 20 minutes before the procedure, refused to let her hold a toy, denied adjusting headphones that hurt, and snapped at her when she whimpered after seeing the vaculux. When the dentist arrived, he did not introduce himself to our daughter or prepare us. The assistant forced the vaculux into our daughter's throat, choking her. The dentist noticed it was too large and asked for a smaller one, but the assistant said they don't have a smaller size. The assistant grabbed our daughter's hands and arms and physically restrained her before any instruments were being used that our daughter could interfere with. This made her panic so she started screaming through the vaculux. Despite this, the dentist began drilling. We begged them to stop. The dentist asked for a bite-block instead, but the assistant said they didn't have any. She huffed and acted annoyed, but returned with a "mouth-gag". After forcing it into her mouth, the dentist started drilling again and the assistant held her down again. We tried to comfort her, but the assistant constantly spoke over us. Between screams our daughter kept trying to yell, "It hurts!" through the mouth-gag. We demanded that they stop so we could see what was hurting her. We were scared that her tooth wasn't numb since they had never checked. After she stopped sobbing she told us that the mouth gag was cutting into the roof of her mouth. For the remainder of the procedure, the Dentist asked the assitant to let our daughter open her mouth herself. When finally given the chance, our daughter immediately complied and stayed calm. Afterward, the assistant excused her harshness by saying she was scared the procedure wouldn't be finished. They treat children less-than human. We cannot imagine a dentist for adults ignoring screams of pain and/or restraining a patient because they are scared of choking. Yet, it was completely normal here to treat the most vulnerable people this way. Now, our little four year old is terrified of dentists. She draws pictures of children screaming at the dentist and playing games where children are tortured by them. She asks nightly why we didn't rescue her from them. We can't say if this would have been different with Dr. Phillips there, but the culture of this office where assistants restrain children, dentists drill through screams, and parents are silenced, makes us think it was not an isolated incident.

This was my daughters first visit ever to a dentist and to Dr. Freeman. We will not be going back…read more The hygienist came out and asked me to stay in the lobby while she started to take my daughter back to the room without me. That was not ok with me or my daughter. I said no I want to go back there with her. Finally after the hygienist talked to Dr. Freeman he agreed to let me come back with her but then proceeded to tell me that this was a one time exception and that next time I needed to stay in the lobby. He was gentle in his approach but he was firm. He did the exam but wouldn't clean her teeth unless I went back to the lobby. I wasn't comfortable leaving my 5 year all alone with 2 strangers she's never met while they like around her mouth and my daughter certainly wasn't ok with me leaving her there. I insisted on staying. So he ended up just brushing her teeth and putting some fluoride on. He never did the full cleaning and said he would do that next time when she goes in by herself. He might be a great dentist, who knows, but I know I sure didn't like that. I'm sure some kids are just fine to go in by themselves but each kid is different and I know my daughter and I know that she needs me there through new experiences. He couldn't understand that. I never thought I'd be having to have a conversation like this at her first appointment. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is because the receptionist was very friendly and they were very nice to my daughter being that she was so scared. Overall very disappointed though.

They also do not let an adult back with the kid when they are getting laughing gas which is a huge red flag. Protect our children. Inept and negligent dentist and horrible receptionist. My mother took my daughter to get teeth pulled since her baby teeth don't fall out on their own. She had 2 pulled in the past for the same reason, both middle bottom teeth. This time it was one on top and one on the bottom that her adult teeth had broken through behind. She went in for X-rays and a week later for the teeth to be pulled. They pulled BOTH top teeth (one of which wasn't loose or have a tooth behind and said see you in 6 months COMPLETELY MISSING THE BOTTOM TOOTH that broke through... i called to figure out what was going on and the receptionist kept interrupting me when i was trying to explain the situation to tell me they don't do top and bottom simultaneously because of numbing, Totally get it... but how is it that this dentist completely missed the bottom tooth on both xrays and while looking in her mouth when i can clearly see and feel her adult tooth behind her baby tooth? After the receptionist accused me of bully because i was getting upset due to the fact she kept interrupting me, she HUNG UP ON ME. This whole place needs to be closed down. Between the incompetence of the actual dentist and and the attitude of the receptionist about my daughter's procedure, we will not be returning and hope people in the future heed this warning. Dr. Rogers is everything we could ask for in a pediatric dentist! Our two year old started having…read morespeech issues and we realized we couldn't brush her teeth like normal. After the consultation with Dr. Rogers we realized she needed a procedure called a frenectomy. Everything about the whole experience was amazing. The office is kid friendly with coloring pages and crayons to occupy them while filling out homework. Then they have a whole corner of the waiting area for the kiddos to play that is painted in animated characters my kiddos love. The dental hygienists were very personable and great at communicating with my 2 and 7 year old. They made them laugh and understand what was happening as they did it. Dr. Rogers was the best part of the whole experience though. He's extremely welcoming, witty, fun with the kiddos and very detailed and knowledgeable about correcting and preventing any dental needs. We had a very hard time with the thought of putting our two year old under anesthesia for her procedure and he thoroughly explained the process to us, assured us of how many times he's done it, and ultimately said we will only do it when we are absolutely ready. We waited 5 months to have the procedure done and it went so smooth. Dr. Rogers took extra time to correct a few things we hadn't discussed and really took great care of our little girl. She's fully healed now and her speech issues are gone. Brushing is much easier, and she has no visible signs of ever having surgery. We are lifetime patients of this practice and my kiddos look forward to going to the dentist now!

We just fell in love with Kim the dental assistant. She was calm, and loving toward my 3 year old son who is stubborn and and strong willed. She made us feel at home due to struggling with a big move and a new environment. I could not say enough about Dr. Coletti, this is definitely his joy, and passion. The dental assistant was very sweet she didn't want to make Indigo upset twice, so just let Dr. Cheryl do her examination. After that was done, with no drama, Indigo picked out a toy and away we went for a post appointment treat. They really strive to make the appointment as stress free as possible for the kids, this is fantastic, and prevents/minimizes fear of all things dental appointment related. We always have a good experience at the office, but there are 2 times that really stand out. 1) Our daughter had a space retainer for a molar come loose and start cutting up her gums. I called and left a message, as they were closed that day. I was called back promptly, and given instructions until we could get into the office for an emergency appointment. 2) We were camping and had a horrible accident- our kiddo had gotten a concussion, and knocked out a molar completely. This was on a Sunday, and we left the ER without anyone addressing her knocked out tooth. I called and left a message with details on the after hours voicemail. Dr. Blair HIMSELF CALLED ME BACK WITHIN MINUTES! He told us to come in right now, and he would take a look. She had evidently also concussed her two front ADULT teeth, and he was able to give us care instructions to make sure they didn't get damaged further! I didn't even know you could concuss teeth! Dr. Blair came in ON A SUNDAY NIGHT, and did x-rays himself just to make sure our kiddo was taken care of! He also gave her a stuffed puppy that she still has today, he was able to make her smile, and feel better for just a little bit while in a ton of pain. We can't thank Dr. Blair enough. Please take your family here, this is a dentist office and team that truly cares.

I rescheduled another teeth cleaning 6 months later and all still seeemed great. Received no bills that whole year. Then last month I get a bill from Riverview saying I owed appx $415 for services and that the bill was 90 days past due! I had never received a bill for anything before! I called them and they said that my insurance didn't cover all their expenses. I asked why this was the first bill I've received.... They didn't have a good answer. I should have just received a bill after the first cleaning, but I didn't. The whole thing seems sketchy to me.
