I originally set up an appointment for a cleaning and the technician was wonderful and very sweet. When the younger Dr. Brand can in to check my teeth I I was very impressed with his mannerisms, friendliness. I had recently chipped a front tooth and a back tooth broke off the same day my regular dentist retired. (Go figure) I made an appointment with Dr. Brand to repair the chip and properly fix the tooth that had broken. I have to say he was wonderful, and his staff was wonderful! Extremely professional! Great music playing! My front tooth looks perfect! I highly recommend Brand Dental! A very pleasant upbeat caring environment and staff. They honestly care about you and are not all about the money!!

I've had deep cleanings before whenever…read moreI've had to change dentists due to moving, etc. My recent dentist had me on a regimen that was working very well where I had a teeth cleaning every three months and didn't require a deep cleaning. However, when I moved Summit Smiles wanted me to get a deep cleaning despite my numbers suggesting my teeth / gums were in good shape due to my regimen. In any event, I agreed to just get in with a dentist. They told me my x-rays may not be covered by my insurance. I agreed to that too. I get a bill from them for $71.00 for a comprehensive oral examination plus I now need to spend over $200 for deep cleanings. When I call them, the girl immediately had attitude and had to ask me my name twice and over talked me. She actually tried to project that I was the one overtalking her (lol). I could not get a word in edgewise and she just kept telling me I have to call the insurance company. They aren't the ones billing me. I hung up on her because she was just extra rude and I was not being heard. I called the insurance company to find out THEY FAILED TO LET THEM KNOW I WAS A NEW PATIENT so that is why I was being billed for the comprehensive oral examination. So they made the mistake. Needless to say, I just wanted a teeth cleaning. I didn't need a deep cleaning despite them forcing it on me. I live two hours from my previous dentist and will return to them until I find an honest dentist and one who doesn't have rude receptionists with attitude. They lost a patient and it is sad the people who answer their phones is the cause. It appears from other reviews I am not the first one this has happened to.

I suppose I was born into this; my family has been going to Back Mountain Dental through a few name changes and the tenure of the previous dentist, so I've been lucky to have excellent dental care with a neighborhood-oriented staff. For instance, on my last visit alone, they saved me time, money and the frustration of anesthesia by salvaging part of a previous filling and not applying a product once we discussed more of my symptoms. No upselling, easy-to-understand and work with billing procedures, and the superpower to figure out any changes in your insurance with minimal effort (even though you put your new card in a 'safe' place). They treat you like family, but not the ones who are always running late; these guys stick to their schedule. And one added note, as one of my friends mentioned dreading their upcoming trip to their dentist: I think 'chairside' manner might be thrown to the wolves when considering dentistry, it seems optional. Doctor DeFinnis is as "cool as the other side of the pillow" when it comes to explaining things and helping you feel comfortable, relaxed, and optimistic about your plan, which isn't the norm, I guess. They'll encourage you to floss, have personalized recommendations and helpful suggestions but operate in a judgement-free zone.
