My Wife, children and I all had appointments on the same day for a checkup, clean and polish. Digital x-rays preceded the clean, that, the only bad thing about it was that it tickled! If you have any fears/reservations about dentists, go and see Dr Dickson.
I have to admit that when I moved to the UK the idea of seeing a dentist here made my blood run…read morecold. Let's face it. England doesn't exactly have the best reputation for teeth or dentistry. But the time came and we had the insurance so off we went. I was holding off on writing this review until I had some real work done by Dr. Dickson. So yesterday I went on line to his handy dandy appointment website and booked myself in to have a cracked filling replaced. I think he is the best dentist I have ever had. My cleaning was actually pleasurable. No blood. My filling replacement well, it was dental work so I can't say it was pleasurable. What I can say is that apart from the Novocaine shot I didn't feel any pain. Even now that the numbness has worn off I feel totally fine. My filling feels very natural and like the old one when I bite on it. You know how sometimes you can just tell that someone is good at what they do? I get that feeling here. I think he is not only good at being a dentist but he really likes it and wants to make you as comfortable as possible. I also like that he really explains what is going on so you know what treatment you need, what treatments can wait and what is really important. Plus I can say that he is the first dentist ever to not mention my tongue piercing. Usually I get a lecture. Nope, nothing. Thanks again Dr. Dickson!!

Rude, over priced, dreadful customer service, £ signs in their eyes…read more When I broke my tooth I went to my nearest dentist - St Clements - where my flatmate had been and raved about how quickly they saw him. I knew they were mostly private, so I didn't expect it come cheap, but I did think the money they were charging you through the nose for would at least be top notch. From the second I got on the phone I knew I was onto a wrong 'un. Here are just SOME of the dreadful phrases that came out of the mouths of the receptionists AND dentist: - "You do know that we MOSTLY do private as we don't get paid enough to do NHS" - "If you want a white filling on the NHS you could try at the hospital, I guess, but they'd probably just give you a silver one." - "Your last dentist obviously didn't know what he was doing. That could be rotting under your teeth or some weird filling". My previous dentist was FIRST CLASS and far better than the dreadful service I got here. Utterly pretentious even before I parted with my cash. And I wasn't the only one, as I awaited my check up I sat next to a woman who came in to ask about NHS services and was treated as though she'd come in wearing rags. The sad thing is they told me I needed a filling, but the awful service made me walk out without the treatment. But the pain I felt caused me to call up today for an appointment. The receptionist laughed disgustedly at me and said "yes you've left it a long time and you need a lot of work" - the tone, patronising and aggrevated. No way am I giving them a penny of my money. Not one iota of care about their patients unless their paying private and don't mention the dreaded "NHS" word. I'd rather be in pain then call them again.

During my first consultation Dr Kyi was very informative and encouraging, so after a few weeks I actually decided to go for the 'treatment'. I had an appointment with Dr Kyi every single month so she could check progresses and make adjustments making sure we'll take the braces off on time. Aside of Dr Kyi also everyone else that works for the centre was always very helpful and understanding. Best decision of my life, after a year I have the perfect smile!

Due to very poor dental work when I was younger I have has an immense amount of work for TMJ problems, misplaced teeth, jaw alignment. My latest work has recently been completed and since then I have been somewhat surprised by people telling me I have lovely teeth. What is great about this is nobody asks what I have had done - that is the quality of the work - simply outstanding.

Batavia seems to me a good businessman but not a very good dentist. His primary interest seems to be his pocket first and his patient second. Chiswick Park Dental Practice is, quite frankly, the best dentist in England…read more Hailing from America, I was shocked to find that - of the dental practices I dealt with in England - a max of 15 minutes was allocated for a dental cleaning. In the US, a full hour is allocated for a dental cleaning which includes a quick check by the dentist at the end of the appointment. In England, dental cleanings and dentist visits are two separate appointments which took some getting used to but I have actually come to like because it's not necessary that I see a dentist every six months but it is necessary that I get a dental cleaning every six months - something instilled in me by my other since my first tooth popped through my gums. At CPDP, their dental cleanings are 30 minutes in length which provide the hygienist enough time to remove tartar and polish your teeth (no flossing as provided in America). There is an American hygenist at CPDP named LeAnn (or LeAnna?) who does an excellent job for those Americans out there looking for an American hygenist. Pradip Gandhi is a very thorough dentist with great bedside manner; I'd guess he was trained in America but I can't say that with certainty. He's honest and willing to answer any questions you have. For example, chipped the backside of my upper front tooth about eight months ago. I mentioned this to him and he said that if it is not bothering me, that he recommends to leave it alone, stating further that he could patch it but that in his experience, the patch generally would come loose within 2--3 months because of the way I chipped my tooth (merely breaking off part of the enamel, not a break like missing an entire section of my tooth). I really appreciated that he was honest with me and felt as though he had my best interest in mind. The one thing to note about CPDP though is they have a very strict cancellation policy. If you cancel within 48 hours of your appointment, you will be charged. Easy to get to via the Chiswick Park and Turnham Green Tube stations.
