Well, if you want to be treated like a child when you are a grown up needing braces, then this is the place for you. At first it seemed like a professional place to have orthodontic work done. I confirmed an apt. with them around a very tight schedule and another very important apt. that i had right afterward that could not be moved. I confirmed with 2 different receptionists that i needed to be done by a certain time and confirmed again if the time slot was ok for them to complete the task of putting my braces on. They said yes, and even Dr. Bishop himself said it would not take much time at all. I had 2 hrs set aside and arrived at 8:30 am sharp. When i reminded them again about my apt that day, they looked at me blankly. Then when the receptionist asked the assistant technician, she shrugged her shoulders and said 'i guess we'll see". I started to feel concerned but just tried to trust the situation. I am missing my lateral teeth and they struggled with putting the pontics on, used too much glue which can cause more yellowing of the teeth, and did not put my fake teeth at the same level of the rest of my teeth. She also let some abrasive substance hit the skin above my lip. When they gave me the mirror i was horrified. My fake teeth wre loose and not secured properly coming into my mouth when i spoke. They were not finished and I then had to use their office to call on the important apt. I had.. ( and it was a personal apt about the recent death of my mother from cancer)...In the middle of having my braces put on. Then after coming back in, i asked them to fix my teeth that were not on right and Dr. Bishop snapped at me. They then tried to do it again and it still looked pretty bad (my teeth had been straight and with a flipper so this was a huge change in appearance). I looked in the mirror and saw the cut above my lip and she said ' maybe its a cold sore'. I said 'I didnt have a cold sore when I came in' ( i still have a scar too). She shrugged her shoulders again. I was upset and in tears that they were going to leave me like this. She then handed me a t-shirt and some little kid instructions on how to take care of my braces. Afew days later I called to talk to them about it. I ended up speaking with Dr.bishop's wife who said ' i dont mean to make you feel bad, but you Did have that other appointment'. I was shocked after i confirmed two different times whether the apt. Time was going to work and then they were blaming me that they messed up putting my braces on? Hand me a t shirt and send me on my way? I missed 2 days of work because my job sent me home because my teeth looked so bad. I now have to drive an hour and a half to go see another orthodontist. They didnt care and still took 1700 dollars for a lousy job. Fortunately, i only had to go 2 weeks like that before another orthodontist put my pontics in so it at least looked descent. read more
