They are dentists that are truly passionate and legitimately care about their patients, their community, and the work they do. They're a family practice which is becoming less and less common, even through the valley. They care about doing right by their patients and are truly focused on dental health. I will always appreciate that they have NEVER prioritized upselling or trying to get people to do something because it'll make them more. On top of that, Ryan does some of the BEST aesthetic dental work I've seen. Overall, they're just great people and great dentists. He shaved down my whole tooth and shorten it (see picture). There was nothing wrong with my tooth for him to do something this drastic...it was literally just some bonding from the bracket, the tooth was completely intact. I was in utter shock when he handed me the mirror. I'm not sure if he was mad at me for asking him to do that of what??? He was my Dr. for a whole year while I had my Invisalign. I didn't realize how bad it was until later. It completely ruined my smile! I had to get it rebuilt in Denver for $425! I have been pissed about this for years so I'm writing this review. I just don't understand why he did this to my tooth.... My Dr. in Denver used my Invisalign tray to sculpt an exact replica of my tooth before Dr. McGuire got shave happy. I would much rather have my REAL tooth but I'm just happy to look normal again.

This was just an evaluation appointment! I have great dental insurance which would have then produced an "extraction fee" in his coffers soon after. Once they realized her dentist's office was closed on Friday, and they couldn't get x-rays over to his office, and that I wasn't willing to have her x-rayed again, he lost his cool. I actually never even had a chance to evaluate if he had any. Dr. Garel never even said hello or introduced himself. This was my first time stepping foot into his office. I'm still not quite sure why they hadn't already contacted my daughter's dentist or asked me to procure them ahead of time, since I made the appointment weeks ago. But I am glad they didn't, because I was able to see his true colors much faster. I would not go back if the appointment was going to be at no charge.

Wasn't able to get through the door! Very difficult to communicate with the office, they are using…read morea third-party for the phones that does not answer the phone timely or return calls. I finally got through after multiple attempts, I verified with the representative that Avon Dental was in-network with my insurance, and made an appointment. That appointment was then canceled via text (Avon Dental truly abhors using the phone to make personal connections with customers). Through text, I was able to reschedule. Just a few days before the rescheduled appointment, I was told via text I am in fact not in network with insurance! It is such a shame when a great medical practitioner allows the front office to ruin the reputation and dissuade new business coming in through the front door. Good dentistry obviously needs a great dentist, but you cannot ignore the other business needs surrounding the customer experience. While the Vail Valley doesn't have a ton of options, if you are seeking a positive customer experience with the ability to speak to someone on the phone without tremendous frustration, I advise you to seek elsewhere!
