I love the dentist, Dr. Zacharopoulos is a kind, gentle soul and quite good at his craft. The staff is quite nice, for the most part, although I was recently the recipient of a nasty dialogue brought on by one staff member that took me completely by surprise. Dont go to this dentist office!!! if I could give it a zero I would.. received random bills after I paid in the office.. received a permanent cap which came off and they said to come back in and they would put back on and gave them the old cap (which they said they needed) came back in to get the work done and said they would have to charge me again and the insurance wouldn't cover it on the same tooth.. this place is a joke and don't waste you time our money .. this isn't Dr fagons office anymore.. just stay away!!! read more

Smile design has some excellent hygienists, pleasant front office, but now they are pushing for things you might not really need, don't want to discuss much of anything with you. They don't respond to email. Just a Corporate Moneymaker now, not very interested in patient care. Often too busy to answer their own phone, then don't return messages. Often close the office a 3 PM. read more

If I could give them no stars I would. We went to smile design as we couldn't get into our dentist that takes our insurance. This was on September 2023. We were told they addressed any issues of cavities so just needed cleanings and my husband a partial made. We just had our appt with our new dentist. I had three small cavities and they had to file down the crown that smile design did. I had told them it was too high but they said it was fine. My husband also had some cavities that we weren't informed about. We paid over $3000. for a crappy dentist. I heard the dentist in another room complaining that he hated dentistry that he was bored doing the same thing every day. Think he should go back to washing dishes at Waffle House. read more

The office was great, starting from the insurance to check in. There was no waiting. Everyone was very nice and welcoming. They went over the process for the first visit and after went over all that was done, including the cost. Dr. Z was very nice and professional as well. We went to Smile By Design- they redid the existing crowns and additional crowns- it was thousands but would they let us have a cleaning- kept putting us off- and when we finally got an appt for a cleaning we were told we needed a extra expensive cleaning. This office had just been sold by Dr Fagan - we had been with Dr Fagan for 30 yrs- we were up on our cleaning- we decided to go to Gulf Coast Dentist next to Winn Dixie and Beals Outlet- they took us for a cleaning and praised us for have such clean teeth because we always go our cleaning every 6 months with Dr Fagan. I'm finding now after many months later I'm having a lot of issues with my new crowns. Stay away from Corporate Dentists- they aren't there for you, they are in it for the money. read more

No rating. Yes , sadly , Dr Fagen is gone. Currently on their 2nd Dentist working from this location. Seems very aloof and avoids contact with the customer. Showing up early for a 9am appointment. Being turned away. The worst customer service experience I've experienced in a lifetime. Refusing to make any amends ; incompetent office staff aggressively tried selling more x-rays and rescheduling . I'm a good , cash and carry customer. 3-4 cleanings a year. This used to be Dr. Fagan's business. Unfortunately, he sold it to Smile Design. My first appointment went fairly well - after I found out that the hygienist I'd had for 4 years wasn't there anymore. The hygienist was fun and did a wonderful job cleaning my teeth. And the dentist that checked me out after was very good. But, just for the record, the hygienist has QUIT! WHY?? I NEED to have my teeth cleaned AT LEAST every 6 months. So, I made an appointment for November 16th (six months from May 16th). Received a call from Smile cancelling my appointment (2 days before) stating that their hygienist was on maternity leave, and they don't have someone that can take her place. (WOW!...Really??) And that my appointment would be rescheduled in 2 weeks or so. So...not hearing from anyone, I called this afternoon (December 12th) to inquire as to when my appointment would be. WOW! they are scheduling 6 months from now!!! Because they can't find anyone that wants to work for them, and they bring someone in from another one of their offices to work in Inverness 2 to 3 times a week. Wait!! My appointment was a month ago - and I have to wait 6 more months?????? Needless to say, I'm looking for some other dentist. OK, so people have quit, can't find help etc. However, you have known for 9 months that this person was leaving! And people are depending on services that they need. DEAL WITH IT. STEP UP TO THE PLATE. And take care of your patients in the manor they should be taken care of. If nothing else - A PHONE CALL!! Run away from Smile Design as fast as you can. Smile Design is a corporate dentistry with a focus on profit and not patient care. There has been a lot of staff issues which suggests this is a company problem and not employee performance issues. My first visit after Smile Design bought this practice was x-rays and quick assessment and then the dentist walked in and 3 minutes later I was in need of a deep cleaning, 6 crowns, and 2 fillings. A follow-up appointment with a new dentist has eliminated all these expensive procedures. read more

there is no way I will ever do business with smile design ever again! I have been trying for over two weeks to have my credit refunded to me and I keep getting the runaround. there is no corporate office that you can speak to and they only communication is by either calling your local office which gets you absolutely nowhere or online chat, which is a total joke. my next and only option is to sue the company to get my credit balance refunded to me. save yourself the time, aggravation and money by going to a reputable dentist. read more

Bamboozled is the word that comes to mind. I have been going to the facility for many years and have been greatly satisfied with Dr. Fagan and his dental hygienists. I understood Dr. Fagan sold the facility and tried to keep going hoping to experience similar service. My first 2 visits after the facility was sold were great. I had a different hygienist each time, though, even though I asked for the same one. My understanding is that the hygienists were leaving the new practice. The 3rd visit, which was yesterday, was really bad. I was told on the phone I was seeing a different hygienist again. The lady talked down to me from the time I sat in the chair. I was informed during the last visit that I would be getting xrays during this visit, so this was not news. The problems were the manner in which I was treated and that there was no intention to give me a cleaning, which was the service that was scheduled and expected. The lady assumed I would want a payment plan because she admitted the charges for the xrays were "really bad". When I asked what the charge for the cleaning was, she gave me a condenscending look followed by stating there wasn't time for the cleaning that would be needed; and she admitted I wasn't scheduled for one. Her second assumption was that I would need a "deeper" cleaning because of bone loss as she showed me a huge placard showing pictures of different levels of tooth decay. She did not have my records (I'm not sure why - maybe because they'd changed hands so many times they were lost?); and she had not talked to me about my history. These were all assumptions. She just said THEY had to assess and determine what needs to be done and it would be scheduled after the xrays. I was trying to look over the one-sided conversation until I realized I wouldn't even get a cleaning during the visit. It appeared to me she was trying to get me to leave because when I said I will need to find a new dentist, she responded, "I thought so"; and she led me out the door. From my experience I surmised two conclusions - 1)they assume everyone needs a "deeper cleaning" and 2)they really don't want anyone who is self-pay. It is a fact that my history (which has been really good related to oral hygiene) didn't seem to matter to this facility. read more

We were snowbirds February and March of this year 2022. I broke a tooth a week before leaving Minnesota. Smile design at Inverness was able to fit me in quickly for an appointment, and they began the crown process on the same day of the initial appointment. Everybody was professional. I don't expect people to be super friendly or talkative. But I do want proficient service, and that's what I got. I went to Smile Design Dentistry this am for my regularly scheduled check up- cleaning, x-ray, & see the Dr. I have been going to this office (formerly Dr Fagan) for 25 years, every 6 months except for 2020. I had the 1st appt of the day and was taken back late by Chelsea. She did X-rays and evaluated my mouth and asked me if I had ever had a deep cleaning, which I stated yes. She called in the Dr who looked in my mouth and said I needed a periodontal cleaning because I had a few deep pockets and a crown. I told him I would think about it (it's expensive, painful, and takes time to have done) and I have no discomfort to need a crown on a repaired tooth. He left and Chelsea asked if I wanted a copy of my x-rays......????? I said No and asked about my cleaning today. She said it was useless and wouldn't do anything and walked me out. I walked out dazed, "what just happened". I brush daily, floss, get cleanings every 6 months always and because I wouldn't sign up for expensive, painful procedures, they blew me off. Another employee apologized for my treatment today to me. I would NEVER suggest ANYONE go there. They never looked at my history, how I care for my teeth, any treatments I'd had. I had my first appointment with Smile Design Dentistry in Inverness FL. on Monday after seeing Dr Fagan for 16 years. I was treated like a stranger and said I would probably have to wait for over an hour to get insurance approval to clean my teeth. Since I had a new card which I had already gave them that info a month before. Then after I had my teeth cleaned the new Dentist Dr Reider came in for my oral evaluation. But he didn't even look in my mouth. The hygienist was even shocked. I had told him I knew I had some teeth that could use crowns, but I wasn't ready for them. He said good I don't like doing work in your mouth if any dentist tells you they like working in someone's mouth they are lying. They still are charging my insurance 48.00 for nothing.
