Later, my dentist wagged her finger at me and told me this was the result of not correcting my bite years earlier when she first advised me to get braces. I was not a happy camper when I showed up at Struble Orthodontics. My feelings about getting braces when I was easily 4 or 5 times the average age of the other patients was evident in my "Before" photos. 18 months later, my feelings about being freed from those braces were-equally evident in my "After" photos. Braces are inconvenient for everyone. However, I am certain that braces are especially trying when you are an adult. At no time was wearing those braces pleasant. There were times when wearing them felt like the most-painful and psychologically-difficult of any of my life's experiences. Despite that, I do not regret having put myself in Dr. Struble's hands. My dentist recommended Dr. Struble on the basis of her 'finishing' work -- the final subtle adjustments to the teeth before they are considered done. That recommendation turned out to be true in my case. I was very pleased with the final results, as was my own dentist. I would recommend Dr. Struble for adults seeking braces. You might not enjoy the process, but you will be in good hands.

Moving from one state to another comes with many changes for most people. However, my greater…read moreconcern at that time was losing a renowned surgeon and staff of doctors who had been overseeing my son's cleft lip and palate process from birth to 11years, until the time we moved to Bend. Cleft palate patients have a specialized team of doctors from general dentistry, audiology, speech pathology, otolaryngology, to a specialized orthodontist. I knew Bend wasn't going to be the large metropolitan area I was used to, so I was a little apprehensive with what kind of long-term treatment plan Dr. Rosenzweig could provide. I was told he would be in braces from 7 years old until 18 to 19 years of age. He would need additional bone grafts as he grew to prepare for dental implants for missing teeth and bone. Needless to say, my fears were elevated, as Dr.Brian is very skilled in managing specialized orthodontia cases. I would have periodic meetings with Dr. Brian to discuss what the next steps would be to achieve the overall best outcome for my son, including two jaw surgeries towards the end of his 8 years as a patient. I couldn't be any happier with the care and treatment that my son received, including the whole staff! In fact, this was considered and covered under medical insurance in my home state. I initially battled with my insurance company here in Bend to get the right codes for it to be covered, until receiving the much-needed help from Heidi!! My son's teeth look great, and his confidence even improved. I am very grateful for the excellent care my son received!! I too, even became a patient recently completing my treatment plan, as my bite was off, wearing down my bottom front teeth. Thank you again! Barbie

I waited 6+ months after my braces came off to write this review, in the hopes that Dr. Sullivan…read morewould make it right. During my 4th follow up appointment after my braces came off, it was very clear that he was unwilling to take accountability for the mistakes he made during my treatment. I'll start by saying, I have no doubt Dr. Sullivan can make nice smiles. If I were a typical patient, looking for some straighter teeth, he's probably a fine doctor. As is evident by 5 star reviews. But for the adults (and even kids) who are dealing with unfortunate and more complex orthodontic issues, this is for you (ex. cases that involve collaboration with a dentist or folks who have a history of jaw issues). I know how much money and time goes into fixing bites and I think it's fair for you to hear the negative experience I had with this practice. Below, I outline the experience I had. If you take anything away from this, let it be that this doctor does not have the skill or attention to handle structural orthodontic cases. Come here for straight teeth, but find yourself another ortho if you need anything beyond that. It's not worth the risk. His reply will likely refute these claims but I encourage you to look elsewhere still. I have received second opinions on my case which align with the claims I'm making here. These are simply the facts. I came to him in 2022/23 with concerns about my bite to see if orthodontics might help me regain contact on my back teeth. They looked good when I smiled (from past orthodontics) but I was concerned about the long term impact of heavy biting on only my front 4 teeth. My inquiry for additional ortho treatment was purely structural and he said treatment would be a good idea to protect the longevity of my teeth and bone. So I agreed to do it. He said he would keep treatment to 12 months or less because any more than that could put my teeth at risk due to my unique circumstances. I understood the risk and agreed still because the end result would mean healthier, stronger teeth in the long term. My initial first few months of treatment was fine. The staff were friendly and my adjustments were pleasant but things quickly went downhill. I will not share every detail of my treatment here because it's lengthy, but I'm happy to do so directly with anyone who wants a detailed reference. A few things I experienced in my 19 months of treatment: 1. Lack of transparency. When I came in for treatments, I had to insist that the doctor to take the time to explain what he was doing and what the plan was. I wouldn't expect his pediatric patients to receive a play-by-play, but I don't know any adult who doesn't expect transparency from their doctors. 2. He flared my teeth to the point where I couldn't sever food. This persisted for months despite expressing my concerns. It took a non-adjustment consult appointment, which I demanded, to get him to take any corrective action. At that point, the flaring had created new problems that he had to fix, which extended my treatment by 7 months. 3. Due to mistakes he made during treatment, or maybe it was just poor planning/lack of skill, he had to shave my teeth narrower in order to close the absurd flare he created. I loved my teeth before treatment and never would have agreed to shave them down. I dislike the way they look now. 4. Before he took my braces off, Dr. Sullivan made no efforts to double check my bite. When they finally came off, I was hitting very heavily on my front 2 teeth (where the brackets were). It was worse than before braces. He made some adjustments (shaving the thickness of my teeth) which helped for maybe a day or two, but ultimately, my bite kept settling into the same place, where I'm only touching on the front 2 teeth. If I had known I'd be in a worse off place after treatment, I never would have spent the money or time. At this point, the right thing for them to do would be to refund some of my treatment, but I was met with nothing but condescension, disregard and disrespect.

Definitely recommend Dr. Sullivan. His team is the best. Super friendly easy to talk to. Offered…read moregreat options for payment. Payment plans that can fit your budget. They are very honest. Told me exactly what the cost would be and how necessary it would be to have the braces. 10/10

I didn't realize until after the visit that she has taken gum tissue off in SEVERAL areas during the teeth cleaning portion of the visit. She even said for me to "relax" and let myself be "pampered" before she started cleaning. WOW! I left my first visit in shock after viewing in the bathroom mirror the missing pieces of my gums and was also given an estimate of $478 for two teeth fillings. Needless to say I couldn't make myself go back. They are also very aggressive at getting you to commit to an appointment. They don't let up! I went to see Dr. Wiley at Pilot Butte Dental to establish care after a friend recommended him. He checked my teeth and told me that the two spots on my teeth were NOT CAVITIES. He would keep an eye on one of them and that the x-rays also showed everything was normal. His office also quoted me around $250 for two fillings (I had to ask since I had been quoted at $478)! Lesson learned. Be weary of Awbrey Dental! Their dentists are shady! Get a second opinion of any tooth filling they recommend. They are in it for the money! And definitely be careful of their dental hygienists. You may end up having bits and pieces of your gums missing too! Find a competent doctor and staff elsewhere! I am just shocked that this place has so many 5 star reviews in Google.
