I was in St. Lawrence County on vacation from Texas when I lost a porcelain veneer. Smile Associates fit me in early the next morning. They had a massaging dental chair that was relaxing and helped distract me from the dental procedure and they gave me a warm blanket. I saw Dr. Hazen, DDS, who created a bonded tooth for me until I can get home to my dentist and order a new porcelain veneer. Everyone was extremely kind.... receptionists, dental assistants, dentist, and every employee at Smile Associates who I came into contact with. If I lived in the area this would be my new dentist! I am from Buffalo, on a business trip to the area for the week. On the way to Canton, I chipped a tooth. No pain, but the tooth was sharp and a bit aggravating. To make matters more complicated for me, I am flying out on vacation as soon as I get home. Needless to say, I was concerned about my vacation plans if something major was wrong. I called the office this morning and explained the situation. Even though I am not a patient of the office, they agreed to see me this afternoon. When I showed up, the office was busy, so I really appreciated that they squeezed me in. The front office staff was friendly and helpful. They called my dental insurance company. Even though they are not participating in my plan, they researched how much my plan would pay for the check up and any x-rays. This was really going out of their way, instead of simply billing me and letting me figure out the insurance. The dental assistant was pleasant, talked with me about why I was there, and took an x-ray before getting the dentist. The dentist was pleasant, professional and helpful. She examined the tooth, and gave me the good news and bad news. I'll need a crown, but the tooth and filling are solid and should get me through my vacation with no trouble. She smoothed out the sharp edge, smoothed it some more when it was still a little sharp, and I was back to work. By the way, the office is beautiful and modern. If I didn't live six hours away, I would be back to have the crown done and would make them my regular dentist. Thank you to the dentist and the staff. read more
