One Shangri-La Place
(1 review)
Very clean and nice condominiums! If I were to own condo rooms here in the Philippines, I wouldā¦read morepick this place for the accommodations and security. The place is well decorated and very modern. There is also a quick access door to ShangriLa Place and garage from these buildings for only ShangriLa residence. It's only minutes away from SM Megamall, Starmall, Greenfield, Starbucks and 7-11 convenience store as well! The security guards to enter this place are pretty strict if new but once they are familiar with you, it gets easier. I like it this way so that I feel secure and that it is not just anyone can enter. We happen to rent a condo here for two weeks and everything was great, use of gym and pool. Pool was clean and secluded and only for residence so it's not crowded. Their gym was well equipped with treadmills and other strength training equipment. There is even a weight trainer to assist you. We stayed on the 49th floor and facing ShangriLa Plaza. I loved the balcony use and views, and even enjoyed seeing the rain and thunder lightening from above! Hehe... We hope to be back here again on our next visit or may just buy one of these units for our own use!! [68/100]
Tree Residences
I have stayed at this property in various AirBnB units for a total of 2 months now, and I justā¦read moreextended my stay for another month. The units are compact but well laid out with everything you need for your stay. Most AirBnB hosts will furnish the apartment well, and if you can find a 1 bedroom unit with a laundry washing machine, you will find these units suitable for an extended stay. The gardens between the towers are pleasant to walk through on the way in and out of the property as it provides shade during the day and pretty lighting and smells at night. There are stray cats in the gardens that are well fed by residents. The pool area is pretty but pricey to access as guests at P300 per visit. The security guards have been friendly and attentive but thorough--they will enforce the rules. GrabEats delivers readily to this property and you only need to pin the correct tower and meet the driver in the lobby to receive the order. Pleasant 5 minute walk from the guard house to the 3 large malls in the area--useful during holidays when public transport and Grab cars cannot get through the congested roads.
Bonifacio Global City

Glad they built this place with more of an upper middle-class vibe. It feels very secure and superā¦read moreclean. When you glance outside, you do see a bit of a less fortunate area nearby-it's a reminder of the stark contrast, which is a bit sad. I think those who developed this mini city could do more to support the communities around them, but it's a safe and vibrant spot. Pet-friendly, everything within walking distance, and if you're visiting Manila, BGC is definitely worth staying in. For a quieter vibe, consider staying closer to Manila Bay, but be prepared to grab a ride since not much is walkable unless you're near the mall. Still, BGC really has a lot to offer and is a great base for exploring. No service requested but the Value at some of the hotels or airbnb are affordable!
The urban planners did a really nice job developing this area. It's a welcoming, clean, and modernā¦read moreenvironment. It's a pedestrian friendly area and thoughtfully designed. It's sensory overload and it would be wise to spend at least 2-3 days exploring this area to absorb everything that's going on. If you're looking for restaurants, art, retail and culture you'll find it here. It's a spacious open space for the community to connect with one another. While walking around I noticed families, friends, co-workers, and international travelers gathering and spending time in this area. It's a lively place to see and be seen. We took a rideshare to Market Market then walked over to Bonifacio High Street. We arrived late afternoon so it was still light out. I saw the Bonifacio High Street marker on 11th Ave and took note of the logo and artistic structure. It reminded me of rice terraces. Then after walking some ways I noticed the elevation started to change slightly, going down steps and ramps. It's nice they considered ramps for people with mobility restrictions. I saw people exercising/jogging. In this heat? Yup. It was shocking to me but I guess they're used to it. I come from a city with mild temps. If it goes above 85 degrees for 3+ consecutive days we freak out and call it a heatwave. Side story: When we took the bus up to Baguio, a lady from Colorado sat next to me. She said she stayed at the Grand Hyatt Manila a couple blocks from High Street. She said she really liked staying there. She convinced me that I need to stay at that hotel in BGC the next time I visit. We dined at Vikings, The Alley, BGC and one of my fam members had a Philippine phone number to make a reservation online since they didn't accept international phone numbers. The food was okay. Medley Buffet at Okada was better. I was shocked when we got the bill though. It was so cheap/affordable. The US dollar goes really far in the Philippines. It's no surprise my retired family members live that snowbird life. Must be nice! ;p By the time we left the restaurant it was dark out. We walked outside and there were a lot more people out. I guess once people clock out of work, everyone just hangs out here. We needed to get back to our hotel located outside of BGC and it was hard finding a rideshare pick up spot. We ended up near the 3D LED screen on 5th Ave. Rideshare kept denying our request, which was the only time it happened on our whole trip. It was pretty frustrating but I can only assume it was because it was so crowded and everyone was trying to hail a car. Eventually we connected with a driver but it took 3 tries. I guess the lesson to take from this is to find the nearest hotel and get picked up there, otherwise you might run into the same problem as we did. Or better yet, just book a hotel in BGC and enjoy the sights and sounds of this desirable neighborhood.

This place is a great getaway by the ocean. Shuttle service to get you to the water less than 2 minā¦read moreaway. Breakfast is top tier. Service is exceptional and will go above and beyond. Nice beds that were clean. Even had a bowling alley that the family loved. Super peaceful and would go again!
Love the exclusivity of the place, clean beach, excellent service from their staff (very polite andā¦read morehelpful). Food and drinks inside are reasonably priced. Big plus that they serve alcohol by the beach. Only issue I have against the place is that we were only getting LTE speeds on our (SMART) devices. Our AirBNB who uses Globe Wi-Fi only had internet at night (in time for the evening news). I would suggest that you bring snacks/drinks before going here as there are no convenience stores (and Petrol stations) near by. They have an excellent (free) gym, billiards, bowling, basketball, badminton and padel courts - bring proper shoes as its annoying to play on running shoes!

A great clean place to live if you're in this area! I had to review it here for the recordā¦read more Actually, it's a perfect location in Mandaluyong area and close to everything walking distance that you will need.... from restaurants, banks, groceries, shopping and transportation. The building is off Lourdes but if you don't drive slow, I can see you missing the entrance to this place as there is construction around it. This twin tower building is next to the up coming Westin residence that is being built still. The Sonata building is a pretty secure residential place as there is a guard at the entrance to driveway, a guard before cars can go in. The guards are good at knowing the regulars here when you get dropped off by Grab cars. There is also guards over looking the front entrance to the building. If you have guests coming to visit you, they have to sign in and take your picture before they can call your condo. The staff is super nice and friendly. The place offers a gym, pool, kids play area and lounging area for guests with AC and TV. There is a boutique and salon at the bottom floor of tower 1. I really enjoyed it here so if you plan to purchase one of these condos, this is a perfect location to live in. We stayed here for a month as this was in Airbnb for a decent price. [17/100]
189 Maginhawa Apartments
The reality of searching for an apartment lies in three factors - location, infrastructure, andā¦read moreprice - wherein you can only choose two. It blows, and it makes for a lot of frustrating searches. Thank the cosmos for reviews, where you could start with your apartment hunt at the comfort of your childhood bedroom. This is a review for the apartment building of 189 Maginhawa. You're welcome. PROS: Security? You are literally beside the Quezon City Police Department HQ. They also have security people, a lobby person, and CCTVs on the hallway; Rooms are great, with the building being newly constructed and all. Furnishings have this condo-type feel. I'm placing this in between pros and cons -- Location is great because it's in Maginhawa. Right downstairs or a few blocks away are establishments for a variety of your needs. But it's also not a good location if you're a commuter who goes out for work/school frequently. Tricycles and cabs are hard to come by. CONS: P10,000.00 a month for an 18-square-meter studio apartment, electricity, water, and cable/internet bills not included; I heard phone signal strength weakens inside the units; You climb three floors (or more) of stairs to get to your unit. TL;DR: Infrastructure - impressive. Location - depends if you have your own vehicle, but OK in general. Price - expensive for its size.
Avida Towers
Stayed at Avida Towers during my visit to Metro Manila in one of the condos. It is centrallyā¦read morelocated and has gated security 24/7 with the SM Mall right across the street for your convenience. This is a bustling area with easy transportation and comfortable accommodations. There's a swimming pool available for guests and fast, efficient elevators in the building. Well kept, plenty of parking and excellent staff that gave outstanding customer service during our entire stay, I highly recommend staying at this location if you're in the City of Paranaque, Metro Manila.

Soho Central Private Residences
Not sure why but Staff is unfriendly and disregards you when you're speaking to them particularlyā¦read morethe guards which is very surprising for a residential business. They also claim to be pet friendly but doesn't allow residents to let their dogs walk across the lobby. They have to be carried or go down the basement to switch to a different elevator. The basement is extremely hot and the elevators take so long to arrive so both pet and owner gets dehydrated while they wait. The worst I experienced was waiting for 20 mins for the elevator to arrive and by the time it does i was drenched in sweat already and feeling feverish. Definitely a lot of improvements needed here. But pet owners of small dogs should be fine here.
