I knew this store not by name, but simply by the furniture that they sold. I never really paid it any sort of attention. I'm surprised that it's still there. I mean, it's not like you see a furniture store always jam packed with people right? But I guess in a way that just goes to show a certain lesson. That sometimes, a successful business doesn't always have to be the one that draws in a big crowd. Some businesses might not draw a huge crowd, but are nevertheless capable of drawing a huge profit. And that is probably why it's still standing there today. I actually never thought I'd live to see a day that I'm happy to see that a furniture store that's been there for the longest time is still there.

There's suppose to be 5 legs for a table this long in the middle but they didn't give me. It turns out they edited the image from the website and removed the 5th leg and sells "extra" legs for this kind of table. WHAT A HASSLE! delivery charges are also expensive! They didn't do anything about my complaint and asked me to just buy the leg and have it picked up or delivered (with delivery fee almost the same price as the extra leg) So please beware. They edited out a table leg from other 200cm tables too. Check ikea website for the original images

I have never seen so many beautiful yet functional bespoke furniture and decorative pieces in my life. Eric Paras is a goddamn genius and I am so thankful I finally found my way to his showroom. I have never coveted furniture the way I did during my visit there, and if I were living in a big enough place (and had the money to begin with) I may have bought half the joint out. Talking about that though, the price point's obviously high over here, but for what you're getting, it's totally worth the investment. These are statement pieces that will stand the test of time. You should really look into this place and see if there is something here for you and your home.

Once such space is A-11…read moreFurniture Gallery, local interior designer Eric Paras' beautiful showroom housed in a spacious compound along F.B. Harrison Street in Pasay City. The compound itself is a sight to behold with its row of liberation-style houses, five of which were renovated and restored as The Henry Hotel; a boutique hotel project helmed by Paras himself. At the edge of the compound sits A-11 in all its post-war glory. Upon entering, I couldn't help but be taken aback by the beautiful interiors, put together so tastefully by the designer. The showroom feels very much like a lived-in residence, whose owner probably just went off to the market. You may not see him or her, but every inch of the space undoubtedly has his or her mark. Perhaps one of the grandest displays in the room is a wall of decorative plates artfully arranged and looking out to a beautiful tableau of ceramic and porcelain tableware. The kitchen is another sight to behold with its high-ceilings and rustic kitchenware on display. Upstairs, the colonial rooms are dressed up in a contemporary way while still keeping a vintage feel. One really can't help but feel enthused as each room is perused. If you are on the hunt for some inspiration on furnishing your home, a visit to A-11 is definitely a must.
Bungalow 300 Pop-up Events
Aside from having a stand-alone furniture shop, Bungalow 300 also comes up with a fun series of…read morepop-ups all throughout the year. Filled with unique finds and one-of-a-kind items, their pop-ups are always must-visits. Each pop-up usually has a theme and each theme depends on the vendors or brands that they partner up with. The vendors they tap are usually home decor brands, skin-care lines, independent clothing and accessories brands, fashion designers, jewelry designers, and even fine-art galleries. What's most interesting about Bungalow 300's pop-ups are the venue choices they have for them. Sometimes, they are housed in their own store in Alabang, other times they hold it in a mall. If they're feeling really creative, they take over a home and dress it up in their signature-Bungalow 300 look. To make sure that you don't miss their pop-up schedules, it would be best to follow Bungalow 300's Instagram account (@bungalow300) or to sign up for their newsletters on their website at www.bungalow300.com.
Wilcon Builder's Depot
For kids, wandering around Wilcon while parents shop for bathroom fixtures and other household…read moreneeds is super fun! Haha. It's a huge store, so there's all sorts of stuff to look at and keep boredom at bay, like giant shiny jacuzzis and model kitchen units. Now that I'm older, recently my dad asked me to come with him to help shop for pipes and stuff for the extension we're building for our house. He's getting older too, and needs an assistant. So on my last visit, I was able to appreciate how completely stocked Wilcon is. Tiles, bathroom stuff, kitchen stuff, garden tools, locks, even pet supplies, it's all under one roof. It's the ultimate in convenience among hardware stores.
The thing about building a house is that saving time is as important as buying the right materials,…read morechoosing the right contractor and having the right design. The more time you lose, the more money you spend. This is why it's important that you choose a hardware store that has everything in it. You don't want to run around and drive to so many places just because one doesn't have a specific pipe and vice versa. You're better off at settling in 1 store where you can keep your sanity intact and your gas tank right above low. So where is this hardware that promises to give these things? It's the Wilcon Depot at Filinvest City in Alabang. My brother-in-law swears by it, and believe me he is the most anal person when it comes to these things. I came here yesterday to help him buy locks and other things for his almost finished house and it took us a few minutes to find everything we need. I would have loved to walk around more because of the nice tile selection inside but we didn't have a lot of time. So, if you're building a home or perpetually fixing an old house (like me) AND you live in the South, come to this branch and make it your home base.
