Glad they built this place with more of an upper middle-class vibe. It feels very secure and super clean. When you glance outside, you do see a bit of a less fortunate area nearby-it's a reminder of the stark contrast, which is a bit sad. I think those who developed this mini city could do more to support the communities around them, but it's a safe and vibrant spot. Pet-friendly, everything within walking distance, and if you're visiting Manila, BGC is definitely worth staying in. For a quieter vibe, consider staying closer to Manila Bay, but be prepared to grab a ride since not much is walkable unless you're near the mall. Still, BGC really has a lot to offer and is a great base for exploring. No service requested but the Value at some of the hotels or airbnb are affordable! read more

The urban planners did a really nice job developing this area. It's a welcoming, clean, and modern environment. It's a pedestrian friendly area and thoughtfully designed. It's sensory overload and it would be wise to spend at least 2-3 days exploring this area to absorb everything that's going on. If you're looking for restaurants, art, retail and culture you'll find it here. It's a spacious open space for the community to connect with one another. While walking around I noticed families, friends, co-workers, and international travelers gathering and spending time in this area. It's a lively place to see and be seen. We took a rideshare to Market Market then walked over to Bonifacio High Street. We arrived late afternoon so it was still light out. I saw the Bonifacio High Street marker on 11th Ave and took note of the logo and artistic structure. It reminded me of rice terraces. Then after walking some ways I noticed the elevation started to change slightly, going down steps and ramps. It's nice they considered ramps for people with mobility restrictions. I saw people exercising/jogging. In this heat? Yup. It was shocking to me but I guess they're used to it. I come from a city with mild temps. If it goes above 85 degrees for 3+ consecutive days we freak out and call it a heatwave. Side story: When we took the bus up to Baguio, a lady from Colorado sat next to me. She said she stayed at the Grand Hyatt Manila a couple blocks from High Street. She said she really liked staying there. She convinced me that I need to stay at that hotel in BGC the next time I visit. We dined at Vikings, The Alley, BGC and one of my fam members had a Philippine phone number to make a reservation online since they didn't accept international phone numbers. The food was okay. Medley Buffet at Okada was better. I was shocked when we got the bill though. It was so cheap/affordable. The US dollar goes really far in the Philippines. It's no surprise my retired family members live that snowbird life. Must be nice! ;p By the time we left the restaurant it was dark out. We walked outside and there were a lot more people out. I guess once people clock out of work, everyone just hangs out here. We needed to get back to our hotel located outside of BGC and it was hard finding a rideshare pick up spot. We ended up near the 3D LED screen on 5th Ave. Rideshare kept denying our request, which was the only time it happened on our whole trip. It was pretty frustrating but I can only assume it was because it was so crowded and everyone was trying to hail a car. Eventually we connected with a driver but it took 3 tries. I guess the lesson to take from this is to find the nearest hotel and get picked up there, otherwise you might run into the same problem as we did. Or better yet, just book a hotel in BGC and enjoy the sights and sounds of this desirable neighborhood. read more

BGC is most definitely an industrialized, modern, and Westernized part of Metro Manila. BGC is specifically located within Taguig City and is one of the cleanest and safest areas to stay as a tourist. We stayed in an Air BnB that was within a condominium, which there is a lot aside from staying at Hotels. Of course, the value of the stay is a bit more expensive since it is within a modern industrialized area. It is very clean for the most part compared to when you leave outside BGC and is very safe in the sense that there is security quite everywhere and the car commotion is not as chaotic as outside BGC. There is no point renting a car or having to take Grab as most everything is walkable. HOWEVER, do wear good shoes! I brought the wrong walking shoes and sandals and my feet were H U R T I N G. There are most definitely so many shopping malls, brand-name stores, and modern restaurants at BGC. Funny enough, there are a lot of Western restaurants such as Texas Roadhouse, Chili's, Krispy Kreme, and much more. But that's the thing...coming to the Philippines, I also want to experience more nature, scenic views, night market food, walking trails, etc, and you do not get that out here in BGC. The most vendors I saw were at Market! Market! on 9th Avenue but there was not a lot. I honestly could not even find a souvenir place out in BGC. You definitely will have to take Grab to experience more adventures that are most likely outside of BGC. If you are the type just to do shopping and eat, then BGC is the place for you. However, if you are hoping the experience hole-in-the-wall authentic eats and night markets, 100% there are many more gems outside of BGC. read more

I have mixed feelings about this very Western and modern neighborhood/district in Metro Manila. Technically it is in a town called Taguig. This area was not built or maybe in the infancy stages last time I was here slightly before 2k. Being brought here in 2025 kinda blew me away, as it totally exemplified this country's commitment to giving it's citizens and it's tourist a rich resource in retail commerce. I'd say the commerce energy here can rival any major city in other bustling parts of the world like New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong etc.. Actually being from the Bay Area in Northern California, being here actually made me sad on the trends happening in my home area. You see in California where online shopping and delivery has taken over the landscape and the economy, actual physical shopping and socializing is on its way to extinction. Historically popular retail areas like Union Square in SF, the majority of malls in California are all dying and are a shell of its former self. And all this materialized within the last 10 years or so. Not here at BGC, this is the complete opposite of what is happening in my area. Physical stores and eateries galore are alive and thriving. Thousands of people daily roaming, spending money, socializing and interacting with other fellow humans. I'd say in what I'm seeing in my area, people are more insolating, going out less and spending more time having stuff brought to them. I am not part of that trend, so it is quite glaring to me, as friends and family both are giving in to this mode. Even on a Sunday/Monday night, the streets and strips of shops here are buzzing. Lots of high-rise buildings here which totally remind me of modern downtown areas in the US. Streets are wide and somewhat have order, which is not the norm anywhere else in the country. The shopping/retail areas are blocks and blocks. You actually have to cross several streets to see what is all there. It actually reminded me of Santana Row in San Jose, just 3-4 times as large. We only came to browse and feel the energy, think we only got ice cream and coffee at a few stands, but boy was I impressed. So many different concepts and offerings, I'd say half and half of Asian offerings to Western offerings. No street vendors here, so very corporate and sterile. Everything is brick n mortar. Now I say if you're a tourist, to stop by and check this out at least once on a stay. But definitely do check out the other parts of the city/country even if it does get less 'Western". Those are the innards of the country, where common people live and do business. I was able to see both thus an educational cross-section. For a quick visit, I like this new addition to the landscape out here, very progressive. Just make sure to go elsewhere too and dive more into the real culture. read more

Sitting in one of the wine bars here, you kind of forget time. You forget place. You forget that you had too much to drink and you need to find your way home. Uptown Parade has loads of international food outlets, and some nice retail stores too. The vibe is energetic, and the streets are lively with people. You also have a choice of places...High Street, Forbestown, Market Market, Bonifacio Circle..... I highly recommend this place given the location and abundance of choices. read more

I live in BGC and I just moved from Singapore. We moved here because it's the closest thing to Singapore that you can get in Manila. This is in terms of cleanliness, safety, and green spaces. There is actually city planning done in BGC, which is great. There are loads of shops, cinemas, offices, residences, embassies, schools, and malls which are all walking distance. The traffic in the area is also better than in most parts of Manila. The streets are well lit at all times of day and there are marshals at almost every street corner. There are no spaghetti wires in sight, making it one of the most aesthetically pleasing places in the city. Now, there are loads of new developments in the area. So fingers crossed that in 5 or 10 years, this little oasis won't be as congested as other parts of the city. read more

After some research, I came across the fact that BGC actually used to be pretty empty. In just the span of around a decade, BGC turned into the biggest and prettiest lifestyle center in the whole country. That kind of just blows my mind. BGC's hot. Like, if you try taking a walk, you're probably not gonna see a single ugly patch of land unless you count the ones under construction. Even the trash cans have cute anime designs on them which sort of makes you feel compelled to throw away your trash. BGC is on its way to having everything. Every single business and every single retailer and every single company is putting up stuff here. You can have a job (in pretty much every industry out there), a condo, and a hundred shopping centers all in the same, fairly easy to navigate area that's really clean. It's just such a beautiful place, and I fully expect it to become the center for lifestyle in the next few years. read more

In my most recent run, I put on the anime OST playlist of Spotify and went off like I was being chased by a mecha around some stylized metropolis. BGC is literally my playground. Technically, it's a township / community (a small city within a relatively small city and in it, life is complete. There is so much to be happy about the urban planning of the place, but the thing I love about it the most is how it is conducive for some night running. In fact, this is where I'd covered my furthest distances. Unlike the other places I run in, this track does not condemn me to a perpetual loop. It is "exploratory," as my friend said. I am free to roam, take turns and change my path every session. So many interesting things to see, people to observe and details to entertain you as you workout. It greatly helped that the place was orderly that I very much could have been in any other (more progressive) Asian city. The pavement here is concrete and I do know it will eventually take a toll on my knees. And since I run in the sidewalks and generally on the gutter and the sides of the road, there is etiquette to be observed and pedestrian rules to uphold. (Which I do follow.) To their credit, they've built parks with tracks designed for running, namely Track 30th and Terra 28th and I usually kick start my session in the former and from there, just run freely around the compound, going around High Street, unto the Fort Strip, even reaching as far as the Burgos Circle / Mind Museum area and Turf. Rather than a fitness regimen, these are the times I understand how running is actually a lifestyle. read more

There's probably no end to the things you can do in BGC, and it's easy to get around the area even on foot - provided you can bear the heat of Manila. You can easily walk from Bonifacio High Street, down to Serendra - even cross Market Market, all the way to SM Aura. Or go the other way, straight through the relatively new Shangri-la complex and head towards Forbestown. Heading north from High Street, it is a bit of a walk to the Uptown Mall / Valkyrie area but there are a lot of other buildings, facilities on the way - or being built on the way. See soccer players battle it out on the Turf, which has been there already for quite a while, or bring the kids to Kidzania. It's like this place is a full of landmarks - and there are more that are being built too. Because there's a lot of places to go, there's so much to do here. Health buff? Go jogging in any of the open spaces around High Street, Track 30th or Terra 28th. Or join one of those organized runs, which happen around here usually early on weekends. Have furry friends? Take them for a walk in High Street or around Burgos Circle. Need to entertain the kids? Bring them to Kidzania. Hungry? Serendra, the Forbestown area, High Street, Aura, Burgos Circle, Bonifacio Stopover and soon - Uptown have lots of options. Not feeling so well? St. Luke's is nearby. Itching to shop? There's a lot of places to (pick any of the malls!) Movie? There are cinemas in Aura, Central Square (in High Street), Uptown and Market Market The Fully Booked branch on High Street also has seminars and classes every so often. So as much as it isn't really a "City," you can easily live in this little bubble of Taguig, especially if you work near here and the kids go to any of the schools nearby. Lots of office spaces are popping up and, well, there are a number of schools in the periphery as well. (Expensive schools I'd imagine though.) Some of my little complaints about BGC would be the traffic and parking situations at certain times of day. I live near the BGC - Kalayaan border and it once took me a good 25 minutes to get from St. Luke's to my place. I'd say that's about less than 2km from my place? I guess that could be said for anywhere in Manila but wow. Seriously. And parking! Since there's so much to do around here, sometimes it's just really difficult to get parking. Though BGC is arguably "walkable," for folks like me who can't bear the heat (or who may melt in the rain), I prefer parking very close to wherever I'm going. There were times I'd have to wait for a good 20-30 minutes to get parking - which again is probably not as bad as other areas. With so much going on and so much more coming up, I'm excited to see what the future holds for BGC. read more

What I love about Bonifacio Global City is that it is a true testament to what a modern city living should be about without losing access to nature's best attributes. It's one of the premier residential areas now, featuring not only locations where you can have access to almost anything but also great security. As much as I love classy, trendy Makati, I gotta say BGC is definitely giving it a run for its money. A lot of office buildings have popped up here in the past three or four years, and to cater to the new professionals in the area, so have a lot of great restaurants, bars, and shops. Everything here is high end and beautiful, but not intimidatingly so. In fact, it's a popular weekend spot for more well-off families because of the abundance of green spaces to play in and the ever-welcoming Mind Museum. Lots of art/music/food festivals are being held here, and when there are no events coming up, it's still a great place to food trip or go on a walking tour to see the various sculptures scattered around the streets. I'd compare BGC to the best of the world's cities, such as Singapore and Melbourne. This is what all of Metro Manila should look like. read more

BGC is known for the place where all the good restaurants and night life is. It's what I call the clean city of Manila. There are just so much places to go to there and it's a nice place to hang out with friends and bond with family. What I love about BGC are their roads and traffic regulations. I don't know if it's just me but it seems like when people are there with their cars, they all obey the rules. Then again, those are just based on my observations. Since I don't know how to drive, one of my best friends picked me up from home to hang out there and go for a drive in his vintage car. It was an awesome drive and bond night. The roads were quite clear and the air was clean so when we had the top down, we weren't bothered by pollution. I also noticed how the roads were well constructed. To me, BGC is one of the well constructed and managed places here in Metro Manila. The surroundings are clear and the architecture is great! read more

I love Bonifacio Global City on hot, cloudless days. I know that's when most people hate BGC the most, but I think that's what you go there for - an outdoor mall with fresh air (which is hard to come by in Metro Manila) - and that's why I like it then the most. Parking in BGC is not as hard as it used to be, with the opening of a new carpark building. It's clean, and not too crowded even on Sundays under my standards. There are so many things to do here - from taking your dog for a walk on the wide park space they have, babysitting a kid at TImezone, and having a dinner date at one of the many great restaurants, to more introverted activities like catching up with a friend at a café, or just holing up in Fully Booked BGC (which is the biggest branch in the country!). I hope it doesn't become too crowded in the next few years, though. read more

BGC used to be pretty sparse. If people wanted to go out and about to have fun, it was usually to Makati. But in no time at all, BGC has become this sprawling, beautiful urban jungle, and I love it. It's really nice to go on a run around the city, whether it's day or night, because all the streets are just so nice to look at. There are a lot of shops around, especially this great skateboard shop somewhere in the city (to be honest, I have a hard time finding my way around since all the streets are named after numbers, and I'm used to them being named after countries or people or trees or something) that caters to all the numerous skaters who flock to the city to skate. They've also got an awesome football field where a lot of people (i.e. cute guys) play football at all hours of the day. And if you're in the mood to shop, there's SM Aura, Market!Market! and Bonifacio High Street for all your shopping needs and pleasures. BGC has pretty much got everything you need, and packed it all in one beautiful, amazing city. read more
