The worst experience I've had. Short on staff I guess. Four in our party but they brought out one item at a time. We got some of our side orders, then several minutes later, we got our burgers. They missed two of our sides. All the lemonade drink options were depleted and not refilled. There had been those drink options but had not been filled since previously depleted. If you are looking for a simple, quick, and tasty burger, this spot is fantastic. I had a Jalapeño double burger and it was delicious. Only critique I have is the price. The burger itself had a nice crispness in the lettuce, freshness in the peppers, and food came out piping hot, so if you plan on drinking or going out with friends, go ahead and knock the 4 to a 5. Smash burger got worse ever since Jollibee took over. I just went to the Smash Burger on Briargate in Colorado Springs and no lie, I waited in the drive-thru for 25 minutes. I reminded them when this happens to check in with your customer. I asked for some free fries or something and they offered a free drink. I already bought a drink. Got home and was happy to eat my double truffle mushroom and swiss and it seems they forgot the truffle sauce. Burger was incredibly dry with no flavor. I'm voting with my feet. This was one of my favorite burger places. Unfortunately, I have gotten very ill after eating their food twice now. The first time was about 6 months ago. I had a single cheeseburger and the smash fries. About 10 hours later I was throwing up. I wasn't sure if it was Smashburger that caused it. I had been going to this location for years and never had a problem. I ate there again a few weeks ago and I was fine. Same burger and fries I always get. I ordered from this same location yesterday afternoon. Same burger and fries I always get. I had not eaten anything since breakfast, but that was hours earlier. I ate at about 4:30pm and by 1am I was in the bathroom throwing up. It was the only food I had in my stomach. It was definitely food poisoning. After all the food had evacuated I felt much better. I don't know which part of the food caused the illness. The burger was a little pink, but other than that nothing tasted off. It did not seem as fresh as usual, like maybe it had been sitting for awhile. I ordered in person and took it home, so no reason for it not to be freshly made. Based on getting sick from this place twice in 6 months I would not recommend eating here. Twice was enough for me! Negative 5 stars. So what made this place special, was its quality to wait time ratio. Essential the equation is this: the higher quality the food, the more likely I am to wait a while for it. That's why fast food can get away with tasting like regurgitated plastic. This place aced that ratio because it combines SHORT wait times with HIGH QUALITY food. In other words, it breaks that formula. I ordered a goat cheese, spinach, and vinaigrette turkey burger on a wheat bun (I highly recommend this combo) and I had it in five minutes. I was impressed. Beyond this, the burger was perfectly cooked and the condiments were very fresh. I don't want to say it was the best burger I've ever had (not by a long shot). 1. We went in to the Smashburger on N Nevada on Nov 27, 2020, 3 hours before the dining room lock down was set to take effect in COS. After we ordered they informed us that their dinning room was closed several days ago because Denver was already locked down. 2. When we tried to pay with gift cards, we were told they could not take them. So, I guess I am out about $40. Ripped off! 3. On our way out, we found 1 small sign buried in a group of 8 - 12 signs that said this the dinning room was closed. They had people sitting at a table that we found out were the employees on their break 4.
