Horrible experience today, my last visit to this Smashburger. The employee (Shannon) taking my order spoke very softly and as a senior, I had difficulty hearing anything she said. I asked her to repeat herself once then asked her to please speak louder. She raised her voice and seemed very frustrated and angry, and slammed a cup on the counter and said (I think) "Here's your free water!" I asked to speak with the store manager who came to the counter and listened to my complaint. She apologized and said she would speak to Shannon about her behavior. It appears to me that training and supervision are lacking at this location and the disrespect shown to a senior (or any customer) speaks badly for the brand. The worst experience I've had. Short on staff I guess. Four in our party but they brought out one item at a time. We got some of our side orders, then several minutes later, we got our burgers. They missed two of our sides. All the lemonade drink options were depleted and not refilled. There had been those drink options but had not been filled since previously depleted. If you are looking for a simple, quick, and tasty burger, this spot is fantastic. I had a Jalapeño double burger and it was delicious. Only critique I have is the price. The burger itself had a nice crispness in the lettuce, freshness in the peppers, and food came out piping hot, so if you plan on drinking or going out with friends, go ahead and knock the 4 to a 5. Smash burger got worse ever since Jollibee took over. I just went to the Smash Burger on Briargate in Colorado Springs and no lie, I waited in the drive-thru for 25 minutes. I reminded them when this happens to check in with your customer. I asked for some free fries or something and they offered a free drink. I already bought a drink. I ate at about 4:30pm and by 1am I was in the bathroom throwing up. It was the only food I had in my stomach. It was definitely food poisoning. After all the food had evacuated I felt much better. I don't know which part of the food caused the illness. The burger was a little pink, but other than that nothing tasted off. It did not seem as fresh as usual, like maybe it had been sitting for awhile. I ordered in person and took it home, so no reason for it not to be freshly made. Based on getting sick from this place twice in 6 months I would not recommend eating here. Twice was enough for me! Negative 5 stars. So what made this place special, was its quality to wait time ratio. Essential the equation is this: the higher quality the food, the more likely I am to wait a while for it. We stopped in at about 7PM and it was surprisingly slow for the dinner rush. Our order was out within 10 minutes. The cost wasn't bad, about $10 for my meal. My initial impression was "This better be good" and it didn't disappoint. The burger was well put together - my only complaint is that they put the littlest tomato on the top, it was comical how small it was compared to the rest of the burger. It was delicious! The bun was lightly toasted, the burger was juicy and well seasoned, the fries were fresh and delicious. The fries are cut thin so they were evenly cripsy. The staff was relatively friendly but I didn't interact with them too much. The scenery out on the back by the fountain was such a nice place to have a meal. So I just picked up some dinner to go and I was very clear with the guy upfront this little dude that look like a teenager with long hair that I didn't want to waste any catch-up and I understood what restaurants are going through these days when I took out the catchup out of my bag he started slamming it into the trashcan which was super rude and then I told him why he's throwing it away and he told me that I had touched it and that was the reason.
