I was warned me about getting my hair cut in a Wal-Mart hair salon. I didn't listen to him because all I saw was the great price - that is, $14.95. It was supposed to include the shampoo and conditioner, cut, dry and style. The stylist then told me that conditioner would be extra, and I declined. She asked me again if I wanted conditioner, and I said no. As I tried to explain the cut I wanted, layers with the front short enough that I'd have some hair fall into my face (like bangs), I was given a look like I was stupid and told she had no idea what I was talking about. --- What!? -- I was then given a book of severely outdated, ugly hairstyles to choose from. My stylist left to go tend to something else (I believe she may have been the manager?) and I finally selected a style somewhat close to what I wanted. While my hair was being cut, she spent the entire time trying to sell me expensive salon products, telling me I needed this and that, then got impatient when I did not agree to purchase anything. Periodically, she'd stop to chat with her family who kept dropping in, making my cut take three times longer than the other stylist who was in the shop, and had already been through three people by the time mine finished with me. The cut wasn't like in the book, but it wasn't terrible either. It was just 'meh'. My friend looked at me and said, "Um, what exactly did she do?" - she did that little to my hair. Also, she did not blow dry it, so I left with a wet head. It wasn't until after I got into the car that I finally was able to see what she DID do, which was very bland and looked unfinished. As I paid with my credit card and went to sign the receipt, she MADE me fill out the tip slot which I know is not required. It was as if she were trying to guilt me into tipping her! The NERVE! Suffice to say, I didn't tip. Sorry, but treat your customers like that and you don't deserve one, lady. I will never be getting my hair cut here again. I'll pay more at a real salon. read more
