I purposely had grown my hair out for the past 8 months and instead of just shaping it like I asked, she cut it super short. Plus she razor cut it which is not how you cut curls unless you know what you're doing. It is nothing but a freaking frizzed out mess. My husband couldn't believe it when I came home. I even had photos to show her what I wanted and she didn't even look at them. With a curly cut you are also supposed to get deep conditioning shampoo and teach you how to apply conditioner and gel to cast it and then let it dry out and scrunch out the crunch which I did not get. I got sprayed down with a squirt bottle. I've never had my hair cut wet. I got the most expensive, worst haircut I've ever had. We walk in and there are three people waiting for pedicures and one person getting their nails done. There was only one person there working. We waited 15 minutes before leaving. When we left there still was only one person working. We felt leaving was the right thing to do. When they did show up we figured they would rush the services through and we wouldn't get what we were planning on paying for. What is the point of making an appointment? Would they actually book five appointments at 10:00 for pedicures? Why when you know you have two booked would you seat just everyone that shows up (assuming they didn't have appointments) for pedicures? We were really looking forward to this. However, it had been a month since I had a haircut, and I won't be in Chicago for another month. My hair was getting a little bulky, so I decided to try getting it cleaned up locally. I mean, how hard is it to clean up a cut? Thin it out a little, shorten up the bangs, take a tad off the back ... I SAID A TAD. Two inches is not a tad. Thank you for the man bob. Crystal, my first Lima stylist since the F/X Salon debacle, felt my hair had a mullet-like appearance, so she took the back up way too far. She cut my sides uneven and, when asked to thin out my sideburns, shortened them above my earlobes. The entire cut was a disaster. Again, I'll give the stylist the benefit of the doubt. She did ask if I wanted a little off the back, and I did ask her to trim my sideburns. She just did it to the extreme. I won't go back to Illy Swank. And if you need me, I'll be nursing a bruised self-image.
