The salon was clean. My hairdresser trimmed up my A-style, then took a blow dryer to it. The Avalon stylist followed pre-existing lines, and trimmed it up a bit for me. This was as requested. She did a good job. Makeup came next. I generally wear a little makeup, mascara, little blush, very light lipstick. But I needed foundation for the photos. I left feeling a little concerned about how the photos would turn out, as the foundation that was used seemed to enhance and deepen fine lines around my eyes and lips. I researched online to see how this is avoided and learned that a primer that seals lines and closes pores should have been applied. Would I go back to Avalon? Absolutely. But I would request the primer.

I also hate the dreaded "bitch bangs" that cut severely straight across so I look like a Russian operative. I stopped in Trendz on an impulse, because I was about to cut them myself, and that never goes well. They took me as a walk-in, but I wasn't made to feel like I was putting them out. I waited less than five minutes. Gloria at Trendz fit me in, sat me down, listened to my phobias, and cut my bangs dry, which is brilliant because my cow lick only behaves when wet. She kept taking tiny amounts off and checking with me, and finally lightly feathered them to perfection. Thank you, Gloria. I'll be back. Because I don't look like a bee. ZERO STARS SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!!!!!!!!! Really…read morehorrible place to go if you want a decent acrylic set. No color pallets Used foil instead of tips because tips break but pinky nail snapped off with no effort NEXT MORNING Used CLEAR acrylic powder instead of white and applied it in clumps everywhere and pushed it into the nail instead of applying the right amount at the bottom of nail by cuticle and pulling towards tip. Filed nails with file instead of drill( said it makes nails straight. Never had that problem. And I've only ever had my nails drilled. And this added an extra hour and a half to the appointment) Had to ask her to use drill and she only had it on 2 had to ask her to turn it up Told the person on the phone I only had til 3 to get my nails done and was told that was plenty of time then when getting my service I asked an hour and a half into it if she would be done by 3 and she said nO and started rushing. The shape was supposed to be skinny square because she told me that was her best shape and they kept turning out coffin and I was embarrassed to keep correcting her, no customer should feel this way. Gel polish was applied with nail dust still on my hands. Was not wiped off for me nor did she advise me to wash my hands. Hair and fuzz on the gel brush was not removed before applying it to nail. The gel say under the light for two rounds of 60 seconds and was still sticky. Had to be sprayed to fix it. Never experienced this before. Salon gel comes with color palettes if they're real gel. The gel was see through and applied 3 coats and you can still see the errors in the acrylic itself. NOT REAL GEL DO NOT BELIEVE THEM. GEL IS NOT STICKY WHEN CURED. CHEAP GEL IS!!!! No cuticle oil applied!!!! Wasn't even expecting it at that point. Salon raised prices to match other salons but are not giving a full satisfying service or using correct equipment and steps. FAKE GEL, LISCENCED WALK IN GIRL WHO HAS NO IDEA WHAT SHE IS DOING, MISSING STEPS, HORRIBLE TECHNIQUE, AND NO EXPERIENCE but still RAISING PRICES TO MATCH ACTUAL EXPERIENCED PROFESSIONALS. Kept putting gel on 4 nails while fixing 1 nail on same hand, flipping my hand around getting the gel that was on the 4 fingers got all over my hands, and her hands and she just recoated it. There was fuzz and hair in the gel that she did not remove. They were thin, uneven, crooked, bumpy and not cleanly shapes. Hands did not match at all. Had to immediately buy a file to fix Only got a 5$ discount. Did not see liscense hanging on wall I could have done these better myself with the only experience being watching PROFESSIONAL PRECISE nail techs do my nails for 5 years. I knew everything she did was wrong and clearly was new to this and had no clue what she was doing. If they don't even have a COLOR PALLETE FOR YOU TO LOOK AT THAT IS YOUR SIGN TO LEAVE! I Contacted the shop and voiced all of these concerns and they got the tech involved who botched my nails after I said I didn't want to speak to her, and refused to give me a refund because they used product.
