Jake is great at working with the texture and adding layers and thinning it out so that it looks like more hair than before he started, but it doesn't go flat and limp or take a week to air-dry. I am pretty sure he is actually a wizard. This is the one place where I get compliments every time I leave with a new cut or color. It's also one salon where I feel totally comfortable that the staff cares about what I want and what is best for me. They never try to pressure me to buy expensive products, but they are great at recommending what will work best if I ask. My color is always spot-on, too. It looks so natural that no one would guess I color it. If you are interested in non-natural colors like blue or pink, they do a great job with that, too!

INCREDIBLE first time experience at a Lords and Ladies salon. Last Friday I was all prepared to be…read morea bridesmaid in one of my best friends' weddings. Instead of getting my hair done by the stylists she provided (for $85+ a head), I had asked a dear friend to put a braid in my hair after I curled it. Long story short, she bailed last minute and I was STUCK and STRESSED with very little time to improvise. I called Lords and Ladies at 8:30 that morning (before they even opened) begging for an appointment. The woman I spoke with was very friendly and understanding. She said that she would be able to fit me in at 9:15. Once I got there, I was greeted immediately, and Lauren B. got to work! My hair was already curled, so I showed her a picture of the braid I wanted (one regular and one waterfall braid intertwined). She worked quickly but diligently, and even freshened up some of my curls. I was AMAZED that she had done exactly what I had wanted! (you know how sometimes you go places expecting one thing and leave with something totally different? - this is not that place!) It gets even better! My braid only cost $8! To make matters worse, I was on my way to a wedding in NYC in a matter of days. I called Hair to Dye For in a panic and they were so, so accommodating. They fit me in for a consult that same afternoon with Mackenzie, who then relayed my needs to Kerri. Just 3 days later, Kerri adjusted my toner with a subtle root (just the way I like it), overall toner with a a whisper of lavender, and thinned and shaped my bangs. I left for NYC the next day with *perfectly* toned hair and got many compliments at the wedding. Thank you so much to Mackenzie and Kerri! I will be back here for sure!
