Daughter and I dropped into 'Lizzy's' for a look-see on one of our early-afternoon walkabouts,…read moreduring a recent 3-night stay in Hope. The shop had caught our eyes during the last stay in Hope, but was closed at the time -- yeah, open this time, and looking most-worthy of a closer look. The shop itself, was small, cute, and "cool". The owner and barber/hair stylist, was a delight to meet, so friendly and cordial -- I really thought she, and the rather "neat ambiance" of her shop, were such a perfect match!! Daughter decided to pop into a chair for a quick cut of her bangs. I thought of getting a full haircut, but 'chickened-out' when I realized I had not had a haircut for such a very long while, would want a very short cut, and knew my head would be exposed to some rather cool temperatures for our stay this time (forgot to pack one of my favourite touques for all the outdoor walks!!). I missed out this time, but sure glad to have stopped by - it was a pleasure to have met 'Lizzy', chat, and catch an inside view of her fine, little shop. Will plan better for our next visit to Hope -- and maybe catch a nice, short, 'spring cut' next year?!!

Never again! They claim 1.5 hours when booking on line. They charge 14$ to book. The stylist didn't even come out to access my hair until after it was washed by someone else. They barely spoke to me did not understand my hair and didn't even try to shape it to my face. I was in and out in 30 minutes. I absolutely feel embarrassed about my hair, I'm not even a week into this cut and have no clue how to make it look nice. I will have to go somewhere else to fix this mess. The cuts, styles and overall hair care is OK. The manicures, pedicures and waxing is OK…read more The reason I am giving this only 2 stars is: 1-they don't acknowledge you when you come in, not even a, "hello, I'll be right with you". 2-too many family members dropping in just to say hi. Worse when they bring their kids. Makes the "pampering" experience uncomfortable. 3-the hairdresser talks too much to the aesthetician, who is her cousin, regarding personal issues. Warm and friendly and inviting! Alexa, who was to cut my hair, was very friendly, communicating with me about what I wanted and had a great personality. She took her time, was thorough and the end result was a perfect cut! I read other reviews about this place, mostly really good and now would tell anyone not to believe the negative. The business was well run, great team and lovely interior. Plus they had little extra touches like scalp massage before the shampoo, relaxing you from the start. I would definitely recommend and return.

She told me she's been doing it for a while. Which didn't tell me anything. I told her I wanted to see her colour chart she had chosen and did want me to see it and said she matched my hair colour. Then a guy came along and ask me to fill out a form that was two pages long and sign it. Wtf. Even wanted to know my allergies. I told him I would've mentioned if I was allergic to any hair colour because this wasn't my first rodeo. Plus wanted more personal info and wanted me to sign my name! All I wanted was to touch up my roots! Well at this point it was too late in the day to find another salon so I signed the damn form. She took almost 45 min. to apply the colour and I have short hair!! She took me to rinsed my hair and filled my ears (both sides) with water several times and By that time I just wanted to walk out. Not even asking me if I needed a Q-tip or towel. She took me back to the chair and asked me if I wanted any product in my hair. I told her no. Then she asked how I want my hair styled with the hair dryer. I told her I would like to do it myself. Then she said in her high teenage voice No! I'm not comfortable that you use my equipment. So, I said did I hear you right? Then her boss said that it was a liability issue. I told her I would take full responsibility in drying my own hair. She said no. I said so you're just going to let me walk out of here with wet hair? And she said that's your choice. So I went to pay and they tried to charged me more than what was quoted to me! I said no! I'm paying. What I was quoted And left! Two frikken hours of of sarcastic behaviour from an unexperienced teenager! Definitely not respectful to seniors!
