Never again! They claim 1.5 hours when booking on line. They charge 14$ to book. The stylist didn't even come out to access my hair until after it was washed by someone else. They barely spoke to me did not understand my hair and didn't even try to shape it to my face. I was in and out in 30 minutes. I absolutely feel embarrassed about my hair, I'm not even a week into this cut and have no clue how to make it look nice. I will have to go somewhere else to fix this mess. The shop had caught our eyes during the last stay in Hope, but was closed at the time -- yeah, open this time, and looking most-worthy of a closer look. The shop itself, was small, cute, and "cool". The owner and barber/hair stylist, was a delight to meet, so friendly and cordial -- I really thought she, and the rather "neat ambiance" of her shop, were such a perfect match!! Daughter decided to pop into a chair for a quick cut of her bangs. I thought of getting a full haircut, but 'chickened-out' when I realized I had not had a haircut for such a very long while, would want a very short cut, and knew my head would be exposed to some rather cool temperatures for our stay this time (forgot to pack one of my favourite touques for all the outdoor walks!!). I missed out this time, but sure glad to have stopped by - it was a pleasure to have met 'Lizzy', chat, and catch an inside view of her fine, little shop. Will plan better for our next visit to Hope -- and maybe catch a nice, short, 'spring cut' next year?!!

I just returned home after my appointment at Dominic's. I arrived ten minutes earlier than my…read moreappointment time and stood by the reception desk. I was ignored and finally sat down to wait. About ten minutes later a male asked me if I was waiting for someone. I told him I had an appointment and my name. He said he would be a few minutes. Eventually, he escorted me to a chair. I explained what I wanted and we agreed on a colour. He proceeded to run a comb through my hair, ripping through my curly hair. I asked him not to rip the hair out and he said "you do it". I combed through my hair and he applied the colour. After 30 minutes we went to the sink to wash the colour out. The sink has a sharp rim where your neck sits and I told him it was very uncomfortable. He put a towel down for a neck rest and it was still very uncomfortable. He told me it would be very quick to rinse it out and that he was almost done. I told him I was done, toweled off my hair and went to the counter to pay what I owed him. Again I was ignored and when I asked him what I owed him he told me nothing. So I walked out. Myself, my daughter and two granddaughters will not be going back there.
