Alas, the new unit came under complications. It's the middle of January, my mother's lease with sentinel is expiring, the lock she had installed was frozen, and I have nowhere to move her stuff into. Enter Martin and Cyril, my literal heroes. The two of them graciously handled the professional removal of the lock my mother installed (not before doing their due diligence and ensuring my mother had properly given me authorization), they allowed me breathing room and time to organize a storage alternative even though it meant a personal loss of business for themselves, and even then allowed me to retain the unit for an unusual amount of extra time at a reasonable rate. Truly I cannot recommend this location of Sentinel Storage enough. The team will make you feel valued, seen, heard, and understood and they will do their damned best to follow through and support you theough the trials and tribulations of this existence. Their reliability, kindness, and professionalism are the backbone of this recommendation. If you can't work with people you can trust and depend on, then where is the joy in work to be found? I was using Real Storage for the last 2 months but I will never use them again. I was called to…read moretell me my unit was due so I told them I would be down the next day. When I got there they told me they would have to charge me for another month. I asked them why they didn't tell me on the phone that I was going to have to pay for a full month for a couple days the manager came out of the office screaming at me the rules of the contract. I told her I didn't appreciate her yelling at me and the girl at the front counter was doing a good enough job explaining the rules to me. I paid for another month so I could get my stuff out and left never to return.

Fortunately my experience with Storage Alberta has been anything but horror-show. My buddy who is currently out of province needed help getting his stuff ready for moving. I was very impressed when I opened his storage locker after 3 years and found only a good layer of dust. There wasn't even a spider web! I have experienced several storage facilities and I gotta say this one is very clean and well maintained. One thing to watch for is to not get a locker by a downspout, because ice tends to collect there even with the cambered road, which makes it a pain and a hazard to open the door. The lady running the shop was helpful if not overly friendly, and accommodated my friend no problem when he had to move his clear-out date back a few days. Decent storage facility for a good price, easily accessible off the Sherwood Park freeway.

So I and my family…read morehave been shopping for a great place to park our summer toys, and one name that kept popping up was Jimmy's RV Storage. So fun fact, there is no Jimmy working there, but it's actually a legacy name for the late father who once owned this RV Parking. We had some things that needed to be checked in order to find the right RV storage place. 1. It had to be close to Edmonton - Why drive an hour in the opposite direction from where you are going to go 2. It had to have easy access - Driving back roads in the dark on farmland isn't fun, only to find out the place is closed 3. It has to have solid security - I paid good money for my stuff, and I'd like to keep it in good condition 4. Price has to be reasonable - No point paying big bucks for something you only use for a limited time. 5. Staff on site for help and security. 6. Lots that are actually nice and graded After shopping around, Jimmy's RV was the best choice for us. It's just off of yellow head highway, so when we are coming back to town, it's just one quick turn-off. They have staff during working hours, which monitor security, answer questions, and can provide help and supplies. After hours, there is staff close by and you have Card Access and 2 Gates to pass through. The Security here is over the top, with over a dozen high-resolution cameras covering the storage area. Last time I stopped by it looked like they were putting in high-powered lighting as well, not sure when that will be completed (I don't think any other lot would have this). The lot itself is well managed, and graded, so going in and out no matter the season is great. Part of the reason I'm sharing all of this, is I am constantly blown away by the team that works here. Recently when I went to get my RV out, the engine wouldn't turn, and I had a flat. The team on site helped in every way they could including helping me boost my engine, inflating my tire, and providing help to the closest location to where I can get both checked out. I think this type of kindness and service deserves attention. :)

Rented a unit with my own lock and key, swept the unit with a shop broom before moving all my stuff…read morein. Everything was previously wiped down and clean for easy storage. Checked up on my unit maybe two or three times within a 10 month timeframe. Came back to empty my unit in July... not only was everything covered in dust, there was rat poison covering the entire unit and mouse droppings everywhere. Never have I ever experienced such crappy service for paying $160 a month just to store my furniture. Never will I return to this location. The workers were rude also and didn't close my account until 4 months later trying to charge me when my unit was emptied before my last month was even up. Pictures for proof.

My sister and I moved out last month and were moving from Millwoods to the Rutherford area. We…read morerented out a 20' truck as the lady on the phone who took my reservation, insisted I'd need that size. When we got to the pick up area, I quickly realized how I definitely didn't need the humungous trailer that the girl had tricked me into getting. When we went to the "office" (its literally a small trailer with a desk) the employee did not acknowledge me whatsoever, until my boyfriend came in. Only then he told my boyfriend, not ME, that he'd be with him in a second. I understand that sometimes people can be preoccupied with other things, but I found it really rude how he only acknowledged my boyfriend and not me. When we actually got the truck, the worker continued to explain what to do with the truck to my boyfriend, and not to me, as if I wasn't even there. Upon returning the truck, I had realized that I was charged for an extra 40 dollars. Confused, I called the "office" and they told me that they didn't know where the charge was from. What?! You charge me extra and you can't even tell me what the charges are for? After persistently calling them for the next few days, we found out that it was just for extra mileage charges. I find it ridiculous that it took longer than a day to figure out what the charges were. This is the last time I'd book a uhaul from them. I'd rather drive somewhere else and pay the extra mileage from a different location.
