After a series of dumb decisions starting at age 19, I found myself to be a fairly heavy smoker and at age 23 I was pretty good and fed up with being addicted to nicotine, the negative health impacts it was having, and always spending money that I never had to pay for it. I had tried quitting before and had always struggled whether I decided to quit cold turkey, tapper the amount I smoked, or used alternative nicotine sources like dip, snus or gum. Fed up and finally ready for a serious change I decided to research hypnotherapy since I had always been told that my grandpa, a life long 2 pack a day smoker, had quit cold turkey after a hypnotherapy session. I had a goal to have my first session done before an upcoming trip I had planned, where I wouldn't be able to smoke. After researching many local options, I honestly chose the Cernie Institute because they were close by and could see me before my upcoming trip. I made an appointment met with Dr. Cernie and we did the one and only session that helped me change my life and quit smoking. The process was easy and comfortable. We talked about me and my motivations to quit smoking and what may have drawn me to starting to smoke in the first place. After that I had my hypnotherapy session which was recorded for me my continued use until I felt like I no longer needed it. It's been over 5 years since that day and I now look back on the time I spent as a smoker with a tinge of embarrassment. I've never been a big believer in things like hypnotherapy, and honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about it when it comes to treating other areas. I do believe that if you really want to quit smoking, and you are really committed to making that change, then hypnotherapy is a tool you can use to be successful.

I recently attended my first SOUND BATH at the Healing Shoppe and it totally exceeded my…read moreexpectations! I went in just expecting to lie down, relax, and listen to singing bowls for an hour (which would have been great on its own) but this was so much more than that! In addition to the singing bowls, there were lots of other lovely sounds. One of the healing practitioners had what looked like a large shakuhachi style flute. She would walk around and set the base down on the ground, a few inches from our bodies, and play it. And you could not only hear it- you could FEEL the vibrations resonating through your body! The best part was that one of the other healing practitioners walked around did mini Reiki sessions with each of the participants. Even though it was a group session, I experienced PROFOUND healing. I had been experiencing extreme muscle tension in my neck for the past three weeks. I had a massage earlier that week and even the massage did not relieve the tension. But a few hours after I left the sound bath, the tension was COMPLETELY GONE! Such an amazing experience! I will definitely be back!
