I just finished my 6 week challenge and have to admit that I highly recommend the program. The…read moremeal plan was very clear as to what was allowed and not allowed for each meal. There were enough choices and variety to get through the 6 weeks, but most of all the changes made to my diet were seen on the scale immediately! The first week alone (when my body was in utter shock), I lost 7 pounds! From that moment on, there was no doubt in my mind that the program worked. In terms of the exercise plan, it is the most efficient 1 hour workout I have ever done. I used to work out regularly on my own prior to the challenge but the classes Body and Soul offer and high intensity workouts where I am performing a perfect mix of cardio and strength moves. The trainers are excellent, personable, and challenged me regularly to increase my weights in order to get stronger. Lastly, the overall atmosphere of the people at Body and Soul is so encouraging. We are all there for the same place and I have to say that I met some great friends along the way. If you are looking to drop some pounds or become leaner, Body and Soul is the place to go. I highly recommend you stop by, check it out, talk to the trainers, and get on your way to a fitter, leaner, healthier you!

Full disclosure, I joined this group of studios. I tried them last year and found it too pricy…read more But then as I went around to other places in town, I just kept thinking about this workout format and the way I felt after doing some of the workouts. I did a trial run earlier this summer, and just bit the bullet and joined after that. As a result, Ive been to this studio a number of times recently, I found tis location to be perfect some days. Its much smaller than the Tonawanda location, which is good and bad. Good because there are fewer people in each class, bad because its often full for each class. Ive never been here with more than one instructor, and at Tonawanda's there is almost always 2, if not three but I imagine that has to do with size of class. The format is this - They create 6 workouts (Mon-Sat) which they then do for 4 weeks. Each workout is designed to hit different areas of the body, and some days have more weight and less cardio than others, they mix it up. Each class starts with the same tape to get everyone stretched out and ready for the next 50 min. Then there is a short cardio burst to get the blood flowing, and a longer section with some burpees or squats or whatever they think of. Then you pay attention while the instructor shows you what each exercise of the day is. By week four those demos don't take quite as long, but they still cover them all each day, and show you the various different levels for each exercise. Well trained group of instructors. Then the class starts, usually that portion is between 22-25 min. as you go from exercise to exercise. There may be some sort of 3 min end exercise, they often involve squats Ive found. Then the same cool down tape plays and everyone does that. Class ends as the instructor brings everyone into the middle for a "tip of the day". Sometimes those are super interesting, other times they are so-so. I don't think those are spelled out from corporate, I think they make them up themselves, which could explain why some are better than others. They have improved their website experience by joining mindbody, so that's nice. There is another location coming in Cheektowaga this fall. I look forward to checking that out too. This place is the home of the "6 weeks 20 lbs" challenge, and you'll have challengers in most classes. I cannot stress enough how much support these people get from the instructors and members in their goals. Most hit the goals if they show up to class and follow the diet plan. If you want to come try a class, PM me and Ill see if I can help make that happen.

I am prefacing this by saying that I have being going to Club Pilates just shy of a year and have…read morefound my groove and love it. But I want to give a fair review for all others that might be curious. Before I came to club pilates, I had a few years of foundational pilates from smaller reformer studios as well as private instruction. I did the 30 minute Intro class to get a feel for the studio and decide if I would like it or not. From there, I signed up for an unlimited membership and it has been worth it for me. I have an extremely flexible schedule with a lot of availability, therefore it makes it very easy for me to get signed up for the classes that I want. I can't speak on anyone else's experience getting into classes since it has been easy for me. I have taken classes from every instructor and have my preferences for sure, however I think if I was BRAND NEW to pilates, this would not be the place for me at all. I find success here because I can follow verbal cues easily since I have that foundation. I have my preferences of instructors because I have taken classes with them and I know what I am getting into. Suzanne- CLASSICAL. No music, lights on. Can come across as "strict" or intimidating to some but I would describe her as passionate and strict because she needs to be. She does not want anyone getting hurt and therefore she takes doing movements CORRECTLY, very seriously. She often isn't the best at time management because she is trying to ensure that everyone is class is doing things correctly. Angela- Awesome energy. During the school year she doesn't teach as much but she is extremely helpful. I really think that her levels of class are appropriate. She ensures that anyone who might be new gets more of her focus and she often tries to do the movements along with everyone to know the timing and that she isn't killing anyone. Chanel- Lots of energy. Music is great (loud). No lights. She is FAST PACED; no real breaks in between. She will change springs for everyone and get extra equipment as needed so that there isn't time wasted doing that. However, sometimes that's when I need a rest. I get a GREAT, hard workout in with her but I struggle in her level 1 flow classes. Sometimes I find that she won't give a full cue IMO? Like she will explain a movement but miss certain details and then offer corrections, whereas maybe if we were told X,Y,Z from the start, corrections might not be needed. If I were trying to dip my toe into the world of pilates, she might scare me off a bit. Her center and balance classes are lovely. Vanita- Tough but great. I can't speak to a lot of experience with her because I am not an early morning girl and that is mainly when she teaches. I have taken about 3 classes with her and again, level 1 flow- a little more tough if I was inexperienced/out of shape. Vanessa- I don't want to play favorites but we just vibe. She taught my intro class and I wasn't sure I liked her energy but the more classes I have taken with her, the more she is my pick to go back to each week. I think her biological knowledge gives her such a leg up. The way she explains movements or answers questions is incredibly helpful. Telling you exactly where you should feel it and how. She isn't afraid to correct you no matter how long you have been in classes. I think sometimes instructors feel so friendly with people that they feel awkward giving corrections and Vanessa won't do that. I think another thing I really think elevates her is that she gives adaptions for everyone. If you're more advanced she will give ways to level up but always encourages you to meet yourself where you are. Starts at the base and then gives add on options. Her center and balance classes are wonderful. Basically a full 50 minute stretch class where she asks what needs to be targeted and helps everyone with what they request along with a little yoga type meditation. Bethany- Limited to Wednesday instruction but very smart and good at her job. She knows her regular people well and knows how to push a little further or pull back a bit. Quiet spoken so music is usually a bit quieter so that she doesn't have to scream. Flow classes can be tough, but I would say usually appropriately done. Maddie- Such a sweetheart, great energy. Music is always upbeat and she really wants to work people out. Sometimes her level 1 flow can be tough, similar to other instructors where if it was my first time or I was new, I would definitely struggle. Abbey- We just do not click. This is my personal opinion on her classes but she is not for me. I think she struggles with understanding the different levels of classes and it makes me feel unsafe. If I was brand new to pilates I would most definitely not take classes with her. Again, that's just my opinion. It hasn't stopped me from going here. At this point there are a few new instructors, Erin, Mary, Katie that I don't feel I can give total feedback on because I don't have enough experience with.

I've been going to Club Pilates since January 2025. In February, I had a hip injury and let them…read moreknow I'd be out for an unknown amount of time. To their credit, they were accommodating and allowed me to use my credits through the end of my billing cycle. That said, my overall experience has been frustrating. Even at the Level 1.5 classes, the workouts felt too easy, and I often found myself needing to do additional workouts at home afterward. For the price, I expected more challenge and value. Speaking of cost -- $109 for 4 classes a month (even with a "deal") feels extremely overpriced for what you get. It wasn't worth the money at all. Another issue was the flow of the classes. The instructors frequently changed songs , more than 10 times per class which was incredibly frustrating. We'd listen to a song for maybe 30 seconds then it's changed . When I decided to cancel, I still had two classes left, but the available times didn't align with my schedule. The owner said I had to use them within a very short window and that nothing could be done. However, after expressing my frustration ( shocking ) I suddenly received a call saying they might be able to "work something out," which felt inconsistent and I have 0 interest in using my last two classes . Overall, this place didn't meet my expectations, especially for the price point, was not worth it. There are plenty of other Pilates options in the Buffalo area that most likely offer better value so go check them out !
