I dont know what the normal price is for the amateur class because I got the deal on livingsocial. It can't be that expensive, there's no alcohol in the class. Ask if you could bring your own to class before you sign up! I don't think they would mind and it'll make the class sooooo much better if there's alcohol involved lol. I learned how to make over 10 drinks in a two hour time frame. Some I would make at home when I have companies over. I feel bar smart now! no bartender is going to rip me off! Our instructor knows we weren't there to get certified but he was willing to answer any questions we asked. Overall, I had a good experience!

My instructor's name was Cary and he is an excellent, experienced, patient teacher. He held nothing back in assisting me in becoming employed after I completed my training. There are many options and I was employed not two weeks post-grad. He provides recipes and technique no class can teach, only the years of varied work and taste experience a master bartender can receive. Depending on where you wish to be employed Cary is able to tell you several bars/restaurants house drinks/recipes or about bartenders who were students of his in the past to give you an edge. It's an excellent classroom, and you'll definitely be comfortable behind a bar long before the end of the sessions. The TABC instructor who provides legal licensing on Thursday classes is incredibly professional and welcoming and her anecdotes keep it lighthearted when helping you realize the responsibility of this job/career you wish to pursue. But most importantly, this goal is achieved by your work and determination. This is not a "do your homework and guaranteed a job" Develop personality as much as your handiwork. Any other school who gives any guarantee as such cannot provide it. ABC is honest, optimistic and if money is an issue they provide great payment plans to help you along. They know a lot of their students don't have work or need more. Thus was my case and I made it back in a weekend. Good luck to any future prospects!

This school has phenomenal teachers, fabulous group music classes, and unparallelled theory and composition training. All their students study individually with instructors as well as in ensemble settings, and all take separate theory classes. They perform at least 4 times per year, which is great practice! It's a wonderful music community, one I only experienced when I got to college! I wish they had had a school like this when I was a child! We are not planning for our children to be professional musicians (and indeed I am not, either), but I appreciate that my children are in an environment that maximizes their potential. My children play piano, and it has always been fun, move-at-your-own-pace, and encouraging. My little ones are pretty sensitive, so negative pressure or stress would really turn them off--but they love this place and all their teachers, and happily skip into the building each week! The classes and the practice are definitely a time commitment, but the kids love it, and we are committed to making music an integral part of their lives. There is excellent instruction for all levels, from pre-schoolers and young children (like mine) through high school. Some of their recent graduates have gone on to study music at Juilliard and the Eastman School of Music.

It is an excellent experience for children, from 18 months to 18 years, and the music education is incomparable. Suzuki Music Institute of Dallas offers music lessons to children and their families. The instruments taught are violin, viola, cello, bass, piano, harp and organ. The teachers are committed, caring and extremely well trained. The school's history is long and its core mission has remained unchanged since it was first founded over 45 years ago. For the youngest students, SMID has the "Kodomo" class that is very good and unique. Imagine a circle of two-year-olds and their parents being led in song and rhythmic play by a teacher who has decades of music pedagogy experience, then add another equally knowledgeable and talented musician accompanying those children on a grand piano. This excellent class is affordable and meets on Saturday mornings. Instrument lessons are available for children age 3 and up. In addition to a weekly private lesson, there is a weekly group class and a theory class. Children, working a little each day with their parents, progress quickly and can do very impressive things musically. It is not unusual for children as young as 5 or 6 to be proficient music readers. The students love their teachers. It is possible, and not uncommon, for a student to have the same teacher for several years at a time. This long, caring relationship between teacher, student AND the parent, has a way of propelling children to do great things. Children are taught as individuals and the program is paced to each child's needs and abilities. Despite what other posters might have said, this school is the opposite of competitive! There are many special-needs children who are in the program, learning and growing. The spirit of non-competitiveness is actually intrinsic to the method; it was baked-in by Shinichi Suzuki himself and is carefully maintained at the school through ongoing parent and student education. I believe that the eduction my children are receiving at SMID will give a number of skills that will help them throughout their lives. They will probably not be professional musicians, but that is not the goal. The real goals for my children include learning that disciplined practice (work) can bring exciting and valuable skills, that effective collaboration with others is possible and rewarding, and that music can be beautiful and fun. Though a great value in my opinion, this is not the cheapest or easiest of music programs. There are other places where parents can simply drop off their children for instrument lessons and not have to be bothered with anything other that listening to the occasional practice. However, for those families who wish to do something more than "check the box" of getting music lessons for their kid, to instead actively pursue the rewards that a quality music education can give, this is the very best place for them.

After my son completed his course, the school provided us with a sealed packet that was supposed to contain all required documents to obtain his driver's license. When we arrived at the DPS for his scheduled appointment, we were informed that a mandatory document -- the Certification of Completion -- was missing. Because of this oversight, my son was unable to receive his license, and we had to leave and return to the school. When we calmly and respectfully requested the missing document, the staff member responded with shocking hostility. He snatched the paperwork from my hands, repeatedly yelled "shut up" while I was attempting to explain the situation, and escalated the encounter by shouting "get out" instead of resolving the issue. He refused to provide the required document and refused to issue any refund. When my daughter returned shortly afterward to politely request the Certification of Completion, the same individual threw the documents at her and continued yelling "get out" and "shut up." This behavior was aggressive, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. I genuinely do not understand how this establishment maintains a 5-star rating. I previously posted a review describing this experience, and it was removed almost immediately after posting. I am writing this review again in hopes that others will see it and carefully reconsider before using this service. A driving school should demonstrate responsibility, organization, and professionalism -- especially when dealing with families and young drivers. Based on this experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend this business. Please research thoroughly and consider other options before enrolling here.

First, communication was incredibly difficult. I don't think they have anyone actually in charge of birthday parties because I sent several emails that they just never responded to, etc. Second, I paid to rent out the entire gym for 2 hours (plus a 30 minute setup). When I got there to set up, a cheer team was still there so their stuff was all over the tables in the party room, etc. That wasn't a huge deal, as they asked them to move it and they did. But then, my party time came and went and the ENTIRE CHEER TEAM was still in the gym with hot flat irons and makeup "getting ready for a competition" - this is the gym that I paid to exclusively rent out. And I had 25 four year olds running back and forth through a bunch of cheerleaders doing their hair with hot tools. It was dangerous, incredibly rude, and not what I paid for. The two young coaches running our party did their best, but I don't think they felt like they could make the cheer team move. So they stayed there for nearly half my party, even staying for about 15 minutes after I very expressly told them they were in a space that I rented and they needed to move. There are tons of dance studios with mirrors and other spaces besides the gym (that I paid for) where they could have done their hair and makeup, so this was not a situation where kicking them out would have left them with nowhere to go. Overall, it was just additional stress that was completely unnecessary. I thought that Rogue would call me to collect the rest of the money and that I could express these concerns to them then, but no one ever did - they just ran my card. And of course, true to form, when I tried to call, they didn't answer. So I am leaving this review in the hopes that they fix their birthday party organization and make it clear to their cheer teams that when someone has rented space for exclusive use, that means it's not a good place to do your hair and makeup (I think that's pretty obvious, but I guess cheer moms don't). Without the organizational issues, this would be an awesome place for birthday parties and we would love to go back! But with the issues, we won't be.
