Who knew that this chic venue existed among the furniture and design warehouses off 635?…read more I attended a charity event here recently and was pleasantly surprised to find a modern event space inside of the unassuming building. Designed with an all white palate, the space is large enough to accommodate a modest - sized event(under 200) while still feeling intimate. I believe the space is owned and operated by Creative Arts Catering so you are required to use thier services. Their food is excellent though so that would be a non issue for me. My only complaint was with the parking. There were only about 20 parking spaces directly in front of the building and the caterer had their delivery trucks occupying about 5 of those precious few (not a good look at a formal event). Definitely check them out if you're event space shopping on the North side.

We couldn't have picked a better person than Lilian to be our contact. She was patient with our many questions and changes. Even at the last minute, we had to add an 8 person table top and she had it set up in minutes and without disruption. Servers were flawless and the atmosphere received many compliments from the attendees. I highly recommend Nuvo for any celebration you may have. They will stay on the top of OUR list for future needs.

Being in my first year at a master of physician assistant studies program in another state, I needed strong communication skills and professionalism in all of my vendors. The very first contact I had with Spirit-Elite was very promising. Mr. Jordan had great ideas, was very responsive, and quoted me very reasonable prices. However, it quickly went down from there. Starting with the payment process. Mr. Jordan requires a 50% deposit paid at the time of contract signing, which is not unreasonable. However, he requires that the payment be made by PayPal, but there was nothing easy about the way he had it set up. Since he was trying to get the money into his account as quickly as possible, he continually asked me to troubleshoot when the problem seemed to be on his end. Once he received payment, communication started to become more and more difficult. Actually, he would respond but it would be false promises to answer my questions at a later time because he always had some obstacle to finding an answer to my question. Seriously, the man is a master at excuses (funky WiFi, outboxes full of unsent messages, traffic, he's out of town, he's on a plane, he's on vacation). He rarely got back before a week passed and needed multiple reminders- something I could NOT provide while in my program at school. At our first meeting to figure out what our "personalized drinks" would be, Mr. Jordan was over 20 minutes late. Upon arrival, he had very little prepared even though the client survey was returned to him months before. After the first meeting, Mr. Jordan was asked to come up with a number of ideas for personalized drinks for a taste test and send them to us but failed to do so. He was asked to give availability for the one week I would be home spring semester before the wedding, and failed to do so. Finally, Mr. Jordan started acting truly unprofessional. At one point, I requested a copy of the contract because my computer had broken down and I needed to know when final payment was due. At first, Mr. Jordan pretended not to know who I was or when my wedding was, and had to be reminded if I had paid the "episode" (deposit). Then, he promised on at least two occasions to "dog it up" and get it back to me later. When asked for an update from both myself and my coordinator, he simply did not respond. However, he did have the time to personally add me on snapchat (not a Spirit-Elite snapchat, his personal snapchat) which I found wildly inappropriate. We never set a date for a taste test. We never heard ideas for drinks. We never got a copy of insurance. What we did get is frustration and irritation. This review setting does not have enough characters to give a full review, but the bottom line is: I would suggest anyone who's considering using Spirit-Elite to take a BIG OLD PASS. Save yourself the frustration, it is a waste of time to try. If I could give him 0 stars I absolutely would.

Our wedding was in McKinney, TX. At the beginning he was very communicative, but never offered to meet in person. Our mistake was that we were at the end of planning a stressful wedding and didn't push to have a sit down meeting. We were just glad we found a bartender in our budget. We agreed on what we wanted, paid the deposit and a few months later, paid the full balance. We confirmed with Colby that he had received it (all $600ish) and gave that information to our wedding planner. Two months prior to the wedding our wedding planner initiated contact with all our vendors, including Colby. All responded except for Colby. He never responded to her emails or calls, my husband's emails, or my husband's calls or texts. At one point my husband called him, and after two rings got Colby's voicemail. My husband texted him and a minute later he responded via text. How convenient. A month prior to the wedding we still had no contact with Colby, and our wedding planner recommended finding another vendor as we had to put together our alcohol order and finalize things for the venue. Luckily, we found another bartender within our budget only a few weeks before the wedding. To top it all off, Colby responded to an email chain between the wedding planner and my husband THE DAY AFTER THE WEDDING, which he also thought was the ACTUAL WEDDING DAY and was trying to finalize plans for a 4pm wedding...at 1:30 in the afternoon. Our wedding planner responded, stating the wedding was the previous day (the date was in the subject line of the email), we had gone with another vendor, and that we had paid him in full and expect a refund on our money. It has been two weeks and we still have not heard from him. We plan to go to small claims court for this lack of follow through and deception on Colby's part. - The Wenger's, in case you feel like reaching out Colby....

That helped me absorb information better. The online course lasted for 6 hours. You can't get around it and is required by law. You will also be given simple questions during the presentation to make sure you're the person you say you are and are paying attention. You will also need your drivers license, car registration and insurance to answer security questions as well. So definitely have these by your side. There were a few technical glitches when processing my payment but it worked on my second attempt after waiting a couple of minutes. I also used my Google Chrome web browser but there was a problem answering one question on the test because I could not read it properly. No biggie. I scored 90% on my test. 70% is required to pass. A minor amount of the text in the presentation was not formatted properly for web browsers so you get a missing icon in some wording, but it's not bad enough to affect what you are reading or having to answer the test questions. The jokes are really cheesy but some are funny. Women may be a little offended by some jokes because it seemed to be bit sexist; but this course, videos and jokes are really old (at least 10-15 years) so just ignore it if you can. Overall, I highly recommend the online option if you want to do the course from home and receive your certificate immediately. I only paid $34 with a discount code for the course, which included the online PDF certificate I received. The fee for the online certificate was only $7. I'm very happy and would recommend to anyone on a busy schedule.

However I was super impressed with the food catered by Culinary Art Catering at the bar mitzvah we attended last night at the Nuvo Room. The passed apps were great and plentiful. I think my favorite were these little toast crackers with filet mignon on top. As for dinner there were many different stations. I got full pretty fast, but tried a little of everything. The sushi was my favorite and probably the most popular station. They also had a noodle stir fry (my kids loved the coconut shrimp), salad station, taco station (so good), caving station (skipped this) and gnocchi bar (really tasty). The kids had their own food (pizza, sandwiches), but kept coming over to the adult side since our food was so delicious. Dessert was an ice cream bar (always a hit) + some mini desserts that were passed for the desserts (ex lemon cake). The staff were attentive and friendly, although may not be the typical staff for this caterer because when I asked who the caterer was they couldn't tell me. The Nuvo Room is a very cool space. I know raw spaces can be difficult sometimes because you have to bring everything in, but this caterer made it look easy.
