From the moment we joined the school, we felt welcomed, supported, and confident that Ellie was in a caring and nurturing environment. The teachers and staff at Acacia Montessori are exceptional. They are kind, patient, and genuinely invested in each child's growth and well-being. In the Dragonfly class, the teachers create a calm, positive, and engaging space where children feel safe to explore, learn, and express themselves. Ellie looks forward to school every day, which speaks volumes about how comfortable and happy she feels there. Academically and developmentally, Ellie has grown so much since attending Acacia Montessori. The Montessori approach encourages independence, confidence, and a love of learning, and it has been amazing to see these qualities develop in her at such a young age. She is learning important skills while also being encouraged to be curious, respectful, and kind to others. Communication with the school has been excellent. The staff keeps parents well-informed and is always approachable and supportive. It truly feels like a partnership, with everyone working together to ensure the best experience for the children. The overall environment at Acacia Montessori School is warm, welcoming, and well-organized. It feels like a community rather than just a school. Beyond academics, Ms. Elin always incorporated fun, engaging activities that the kids loved. She also helped my son become more independent with eating, which was something he really needed encouragement in. In the afternoons, when Ms. Elin left, other wonderful teachers stepped in to provide care -- Ms. Silvia, Ms. Christine, Ms. Mary, Ms. Marie and Ms. Nour. My son knows and loves them all. Overall, it's been a positive experience with a few minor considerations. One of the standout features for us is the flexibility -- the school is open from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM, and I really appreciate being able to drop them off as late as 9:30 AM. It gives us the chance to enjoy slow mornings together. In addition to the flexible hours, there are very minimal holidays, which is a huge blessing for working families who just can't take that many days off in a year. Meals (breakfast, snack, and lunch) are included, and the facility is nut-free, which is crucial for us due to our daughter's peanut allergy. The school is very accommodating, and both Emilene and Stacy are great with communication. Stacy speaks Chinese, which is helpful since we're a bilingual household, and she's on top of everything. Together, Emilene and Stacy run the school very competently and are always responsive when we reach out. We've also noticed Spanish-speaking teachers interacting with the kids -- it's a nice bonus to hear them occasionally counting or singing in Spanish at home. The school provides uniforms, which makes mornings simpler -- no outfit struggles. Homework starts in the Primary class but is optional, which takes off some pressure. I like that the teachers let kids learn at their own pace. For example, our daughter has started writing her name, while her twin brother is still tracing -- and both are encouraged at their own level. Class sizes are a bit large, which might be a concern for some. Also, nap time is still enforced even though our kids are weaning off naps -- understandable, but something to be aware of. One thing I do wish is that they would take and share more pictures of the kids during the day. As a parent, I'd love to see more of what they're doing and experiencing at school. Overall, it's a warm and structured environment with great hours, minimal closures, helpful staff, and a multilingual atmosphere that we really value.

They do an awesome job with all of the day-to-day activities and put on great extra-curricular events such as winter/spring shows, parent breakfasts, curriculum night, field-trips, water-play days in summer, etc. In addition, they maintain a very clean, organized, child friendly facility. From your first step through their doors you can tell they care about the details. We first enrolled our daughter after realizing she was encountering a bit of a speech delay and were advised that putting her in daycare where she could socialize with peers her age would help her development. We visited various other daycares/Montessori's in the area and found Walnut Montessori-Preschool Academy to be the most responsive, well-staffed and equipped to meet our needs. Our daughter has grown tremendously since we first enrolled her at the age of two (she is now 4 and still enrolled). She went from speaking very few words and wanting to be around only parents and grandparents, to developing quite a vocabulary, learning to play with other kids her age, learning how to engage in a classroom setting, becoming potty-trained, and generally developing her skills for Kindergarten. Walnut Montessori-Preschool Academy has always been very accommodating with any of our needs and has communicated/responded well when incidents did occur. We could not be more pleased with the level of service Walnut Montessori-Preschool Academy has provided and would not hesitate to recommend this program to anyone looking for childcare services.

I do have a child that's currently in another program as he requires more attention for his needs. The solution was brought up to us by the director and we were heartbroken that this child would not get the same experience as his siblings. The director was willing to accommodate and work with us but overall moving the child was of his best interest to give him the attention he needed. My family is grateful for this information as we've seen immense growth with the children attending Montessori and the child that's was moved. It really showed us that the school was not trying to keep us for tuition but making knowledgeable recommendations on what would be best for the child and the resources available. In addition to their knowledge there are also plenty of opportunities for children performances, family events, summer field trips and class parties. The hours open are more than reasonable for a working parent. Overall out of all the Montessori schools I've toured this is one of the only ones in the area that's actually Montessori and not Montessori inspired, which ultimately was the original reason why I enrolled my children. I'm glad I made the choice to enroll my children here as I know every one of my kids are learning both educationally and socially.
