Smart & Final Extra! - dry ice - Grocery Near Me - San Fernando, California

The store was extremely busy and the checkout lines were packed, especially during peak hours. I understand that it can get hectic, but I was disappointed with the customer service from Miriam. While we were waiting, she was on her phone texting before scanning customers' items, even though the lines were already very long and she should have been helping move things along. It was frustrating to see when so many customers were waiting. I hope management addresses this, because better attentiveness during busy hours would make a big difference read more

Came here for cash back. Alex was very helpful and friendly. highly recommend coming here . Service was excellent and staff were great . I love how they have each check out lane with different street names like San Fernando Rd and what not . Great environment for smart and final. Never been to a location like this before. Great establishment. Big difference from other stores, my new go too to as of now I'll probably come back to shop around for food next time . read more

On the corner of Glenoaks and Hubbard in San Fernando. They always tend to have what I'm looking for. They always everything available, anything from roasted chicken, frozen foods, and drinks. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. The store is clean. read more

Horrible experience with the cashier Melody , she is extremely rude , vulgar and has no customer service skills . She did not say one word to me throughout the transaction , and was talking to her co worker about her weekend sharing pretty innapropiate information for anyone to be hearing which was awkward. Pls give her some training or perhaps have her in the stock room where she doesn't engage with customers . read more

Call for assistance to an unrelated issue that occurred right outside of this location. Had the pleasure of getting assistance from Gilbert store manager who handled my inquiry with great professionalism. Great customer service. read more

I do want to thank the employees and management at Smart & final because I did write a review prior to today complaining about the carts and how much things had changed. I am happy to say I went shopping here again today and the cart area was full and everything was looking great I appreciate your promptness in correcting all the issues that were going on. This shows you do care about your customers and we appreciate it. Thank you so much read more

I love this store. The employees are always friendly. Food selection is great. Clean store. Great prices. Better than Vons.

I am handicapped and I have been trying to call the store just to ask if they have procedures for shopping such as counting people in and out of the store or food limits. I keep getting someone picking up the phone (because I can hear people in the background) and hanging up. The last time I sat through cue message 5 time and again pick up hang up. I understand they must be busy but different times throughout the day and still getting hung up on, is that the company policy to just pick up hang up? Very very rude and disrespectful!!!!!! read more

I really wanted to like this place but somehow I keep ending up buying shit that is expired before the day I even purchased it. That shit is gross. I have noticed this with salad and ravioli on multiple occasions. In this economy it's not chill to be ina situation where you're wasting your money on expired food. read more

This is a nice go-to spot in the area for groceries and other items. The service is always friendly and efficient, the store is organized for the most part and one of the cleaner Smart & Final stores I've frequented. PARKING Available for free in the lot read more

Everytime I come in to the store I get followed around and when I'm about to pay there is an extra employee next to the cashier. I wonder if this is a store policy to have employees profile a person. read more

This store was once my all time favorite store, but for months now it's gone down hill badly I mean the customer service sucks bad, the store is always a mess the lines are super long. The shelves are always empty and when you ask for help oh... the attitude comes out right away. And to be honest it's the new a new manager and store manager whom are to blame. Ever since "MANNY" left the store hasn't and will never ever be the same. Upper management really messed this one up. What a shame. Good customer service is so hard to find and we had amazing customer experience when manny was store manager he would go out of he's way to help he's customers the store was super clean and most of all he's employees were happy and you knew and left it. Now they are just in bad mood with a shitty look on there face, no good morning, have a good day, hi, bye, thank you NOTHING AT ALL. Very... very sad. "WE MUST DO BETTER SMART&FINAL UPPER MANAGEMENT!!! So all they get is 1 start and that's only because I had to in order to write my review. read more

I come to this location once in a while. Even on a busy day there's tons of parking to select from due to the design of the Plaza itself. Every time we come here it's always tidy and clean. Not once have I came to this location and it was not clean and tidy. Tons of selections to choose from in every single aisle, from fresh produce to diary section, and from canned goods to frozen goods/alcoholic beverages aisle. When it comes to cashiers, they make sure to not have their customers waiting for a while. I am not 100% sure if this a policy of theirs, but I've noticed that when there's 3+ customers waiting in line, they communicate with their co-workers to open another register to ensure that their customers aren't waiting for long periods. The satisfaction doesn't just stop there, they are interactive with their customers are greet them in a friendly manner. Definitely come try this location out, cause I have not had one bad visit to this location and I hope they keep up their trend and standards. read more

Please Stay Away From This Sorry Excuse Of Smart n Final. First off, the manager is a facist who treats customers like shit. Secondly, most of their products on their shelves are on the verge of going bad. I mean if you like bottom of the barrel fruit, then by all means come here. I recently came to buy some fruit drinks, and let me tell you how expired these pieces of shits were !!! 2 f*cking months, thank god I didn't drink them or they would of a serious lawsuit on their hands... Thirdly I would like to add for the employees to treat us people who use wic like shit, or like some nobodies... like come on, like ya lives any better working for a grocery store chain to be judging people who use wic. Lastly, just stay away. Love, angel read more

I've been calling this store for the past hour just to ask a simple question during buisness hours, unfortunately a female employee has answered the phone 4 times same lady she sounded young laughed and while giggling said it was food 4 less i told her no its smart and final and ahe laughed and hung up. I called back 4 more times someone picked up and quiclky hung up every FREEKING time, i wonder what kind of immature employees work there in a time of crisis with the corona virus placing the country in a panic, this behavior is bullshit, i can just imagine the management how immature they are, to the immature lady who did this FFFF you. read more

Talk about cheap food. This place is fresh and everything is affordable. I love smart and final. It's my favorite place. They should be open 24 hours. I would even live here if I could. All my favorite food is here. Especially the ice cream. Love strawberry ice cream. read more

This place just opened up and the service was great everybody was super "extra" helpful. Some of the limited time sales were great, and the only thing is their selection isn't perfect, for example all i wanted was a natural dairy coffee creamer... they have creamer but nothing natural. Otherwise a great place to find a deal or two. Its a nice touch in the decor that the check out aisles have the names of the streets on them. It is will also freak you out if you have gotten used to no plastic bags. They are in San Fernando City so plastic bags for everyone!!! read more

The employees are professional and very pleasant. They offer help you out to your car when your cart is overloaded. The store is very clean, well organized, the prices are fair and weekly sales are great! The parking lot is the only thing I dislike, its on a slope which cause my shopping cart to roll away while loading groceries into my car. In time I learned to use the heaviest item (case of water or detergeant) as a weight to keep the cart from rolling as I load the groceries. Happy this store is in my neighborhood, Thank you! read more

Employees are nice but this grocery store has been understaffed for the whole two years I've been living in San Fernando. You'll have lines extending into the actual aisles and see only one or two registers open. Selection of food is also limited but wouldn't mind if they just had more lines open. read more

Clean with a well-kept produce section. They get only 4 stars because the liquor section is smaller here than at other locations.

The service is very good and the staff are nice too but the down fall is they don't have many registers open and typically there's only 2 open and it starts to get over full in the lines and secondly I bought yogurts and come to find out that they were expired. I'm very disappointed with smart and final, I received a gift card from my daughter. I went to smart and final to purchase some grocery, the card was 100.00 the balance should have been $51.23 I spend only $48.77 they ended up saying the card had only $36.23. Which that was the first time I ever used the gift card. I did notice the clerk swipe the card several time. I don't want to say she stole the different 's of the gift card. Manny the manager indicated he was going investigate , the out come was the same he switch the balance to a new gift card he kept the old, so in reality who know what happen in that transaction. All I know I was out $15.00 dollars. I feel they have dishonest employees , I will recommend not to buy a gift card and not to go to smart and final. read more

Let me start off by saying I am extremely disappointed in the service that family members and myself recieved at this store by the "Supervisor" Jared. We went in to purchase drinks for an event we where having and stood in line like everybody else. We had 3 separate transactions as it was 3 of us in the store and obviously we are individuals paying separately for our purchases(totaling $81.30) . As it was our turn in line he starts off by saying "The next time you guys are going to purchase stuff like this(soft drinks) I need you guys to go to the end of the line and not hold up the line." Not only did he fail to greet us as customers should be greeted, he also then took it upon himself to be disrespectful to us by talking to us as if we where doing something wrong by standing in line like everyone else to purchase our items. I did tell him "We have separate transactions because we are 3 different people, what was the problem??" He then rolled his eyes and said " Okay yeah, whatever" I cannot stress enough having worked in retail myself this was by far the worst display of customer service I have ever experienced. To stand there and be rude, condescending and argue with a customer are 3 thing that should not happen in retail. What bothered me the most was the "Whatever" I got in response I think he needs to be put through some more extensive customer service training to learn how to do his job better. This was not the first time I've seen him in the store dealing with customers and the times I had seen him he never seemed to be pleasant person to deal with and that was confirmed today with my own personal experience. I will end of by saying that I literally live a couple blocks away from the store BUT I will not be doing any further shopping here ever again and neither will any of my family members. What a disappointing experience. read more
