Tyre change was unproblematic, but…read morewas then told I needed wheel tracking and alignment as my front tyres apparently were "unevenly worn". Was shown one of my old tyres, but I didnt see any uneven wear. Nonetheless I trusted them and agreed. Was told price was £50 + VAT (£60). Haggled down to £50 but was told "cash only" (i wonder why!?). They did used the hunter machine and I was given printout afterwards which showed all pre and post alignments in green (front toes were exactly at 0 degrees pre alignment, despite told that they were toe out). was told that they were "all the way out" and i "surely should have noticed difficulties with steering" (i didn't). i questioned them a bit and asked whether i they will fix for free anything that wasn't right with tyres and he launched into a whole "you can come back for ANYTHING. we do ANYTHING here, sales pitch". i felt i was pressure sold the tyre tracking on the back of a tyre change (feels too convenient for me to be genuine), now that i know more about tracking there was no evidence that it was needed for me (even if it was offered as a "precaution" to correct trending toe out, it was presented as though it was overdue and urgent"). I have since learned that others have experienced exact same situation. Will not return here.

Used this garage as it was recommended to me by the RAC as it is a RAC "Approved" Garage and as it…read morewould get priority in getting fixed. 1st mistake listening to the RAC! Neven again. 1st off all the time it took to repair the car was 7 days. At first, they said they thought it was contaminated fuel, even though I told them that it had had half a tank of fuel go through the engine with no problem (it smelt funny like petrol they said). after 2 days of them having my car I phoned them to find out what was happening they told me it was not contaminated fuel, they said it was a regulator valve on the pump inlet (they had ordered the valve and was going to fit it without my consent) this was quoted at £105 (on the bill it's is down for £130) for the valve and with labour it would cost worst case scenario it would be a total of £300 + vat. So, told them to go ahead and do the work but to keep me informed. I had to keep checking in to find out when the part came and when they were going to fit it no curtesy car was offered. I then eventually went down to the garage to ask what was happening. They said they would fit it that day and ring me if there was anything else needed to do, I asked if it would be at 4:30 Nev said would be before that. I waited until 5 and rang them. They told me it was done and to come down. After getting there I then waited 40 minutes as he fixed up a bill, he told me that it would be £565 this is because he has to fit another part the filter housing as it was sucking in air ( was this the problem in the first place and nothing to do with the valve?). This was not authorised by me and there was a lack of communication. I argued the bill and he knocked off an hour labour (£90) this is all well and good but this is still £115 over the worst case scenario price. Do these people think we have money stuffed in the matrass waiting? Overall: - No communication - Not done in a reasonable time - Work done to car without authorisation - Not transparent with work or cost - should be called Nev'll fix it (eventually) at your peril
