I was very surprised by the selection and quality of the cupcakes smallcakes had to offer!! I've heard of the place before but don't ever recall coming here. Moving forward, I will definitely visit when I'm in need of a sweet treat. I had to wait just a few minutes to get assisted as there was only one worker who was on the phone taking an order. I checked into Yelp and received an offer for a free cupcake, but when I showed it to the cashier, he couldn't honor it because it "wasn't in the system." It was fine though! They seem to have the buy 5 get 1 free promo everyday. I thought the cupcakes would be on the pricier end, but they were just $3.95 each! I came a little past 7pm on a weekday, and I was worried they wouldn't have the flavors I was looking for, but they had it all! I tried the strawberry one and was amazed by how moist it was for being out in the open like that. So good! Also, I brought the rest of the cupcakes to school the following afternoon for a group of friends, and they were still in pristine condition. Everyone enjoyed the cupcakes woohoo!!! Walked in, greeted immediately, went over the specials (was around valentine's day) and asked howany I wanted. They were running a 12 for the price of 10 so that's exactly what I got. So disappointed. I love the smallcakes franchise. All locations I've been to have been great! However today I visited the katy location and was very confused/upset. I got the lemon drop and wedding cake flavors, my top two favs. When I opened the box I noticed that they looked a little smaller than usual. I haven't been in a while so I was t sure if they had decreased the size of their cupcakes. They were the size of a regular cupcake maybe even smaller! Cupcake liner wasn't filled! Went I to the store last night around 6:45pm and was going to order 6 cupcakes and then decided to up it to 12. the girl behind the counter turned around to get the box, came back over and then disappeared into the back room. My daughter and I waited and we could see her going back and forth like she was on the phone. We didn't hear the store phone ring and figured it was a personal call. anyways she never came back and we left after about 5 minutes. This is not the first time we have issues with this store. My only negative thing would be is that the cake decorations were not stuck on securely, they were sort of placed on and the cake moved from the circular board.
