I was told that I needed to make the first 5 payments and after that it could be paid off with no penalty. Ok, great. They said they prefer you set up autopay. I'm on the road a lot and autopay works great for me as well. I get notification from my credit union that they took out their payment. Ok perfect. Less than a week later they took out another one. I paused but chalked it up to an honest mistake. Less than a week later I get a message from the girl in their office saying if I don't make my payment that they're gonna send someone to pick up my container. Flustered, I called them. I explained the situation to the guy that had answered the phone. He said he would have someone call me back but sounded very Skeptical as if he didn't believe me. No worries, I waited for them to call me but instead I get a message from the driver assigned to pick up MY container. I call him back and explain the mistake. He also seemed skeptical but told me either way he'd be back for the container unless his employer told him otherwise. I called a number he gave me to call. A woman answered and said she had to have payment because my account was delinquent or they had to pick up my container. I asked her how many times per month I was required to make the almost $300 payment. She said if I had paid it she would t be calling me for payment. I pulled up exactly what dates they had taken payments from my account. At that time she immediately changed direction, apologized for the mistake and said I was good for 2 months. I asked for an exact payoff but she couldn't tell me. Said she'd call me back with it. Less than a week later we are back in the collection loop. Driver is coming to pick up my container, I'm delinquent and need to pay. I asked again for payoff amount. The lady called me back and said over $6000. I explained that was way more than I'd paid for the entire container. She said with fees and all it would be over 6k. I said I don't think so ma'am. I hung up and made a payment just to be sure. But the calls still persist and the threats of repossession. Made another payment and still the threats keep coming. The owner left me a voicemail and accused me of attempting to steal his container. He said I need to get my stuff out of it and out of the way so they can come pick it up. How many times do I have to pay for it? i Finally told him he was signing up for a rocky road and hard lessons if this was his business model. All of a sudden the threats stopped but the hyperbolic billing keeps coming regardless of how much I pay. I keep waiting for the goons to jump out of the bushes and attempt to assault me but they haven't as of yet. Stay tuned for the ending please. I'll let everyone know how it ends. Thanks. I have been a customer of the Storage Center (formerly Shepherd Self Storage) for almost (November…read more2016) 10 years. The Storage Center lists their origin as "Established in 2021", which is true to the sale of the facility. Originally this establishment was locally owned and operated as Shepherd Self Storage. I never had any issue with Shepherd Self Storage. Since The Storage Center took over operation of the facility service has declined and the cost of my unit has gone from $70/month to $132/month. My unit has been broken into twice since 2021. The lanes between the buildings are narrow and frequently blocked by other tenants accessing their units. There are lots of other places out there and I wouldn't recommend The Storage Center.

It's unacceptable and unprofessional for a storage unit to not take responsibility for your broken door and lack of repair on the unit that we are paying a ridiculous price for two months of inaccessibility. This is summer and prime boat season. It doesn't make much sense that we have paid for 2 months to not be able to use our boat! Yes, you offered to have someone open the door on a work day/weekday for us to move all of our furniture and belongings ourselves! If it was that easy to move units, we would have left when you took over ownership and jacked up the rates. You are unwilling to compensate us at all for this debacle by adjusting the fees for the 2 months of inaccessibility which is only fair and responsible/reasonable on your part. You have dropped the ball on making these repairs/ordering parts in a timely manner. We have been incredibly patient and understanding, but this has gone past the point of bad management. We will not use any of your businesses in the future. After renting this unit for over 6 years, we are increasingly concerned about the new owners lack of response and maintenance.

I would give this facility ZERO stars if I could. They have no available office agent on site at…read morethis Choctaw location. A lot of their cameras are "dummy cameras" which provide no security obviously, despite many signs posted that they have surveillance. We had our unit for 2 weeks and somebody cut the lock and stole a check book out of our unit and wrote a fraudulent check. Now we are in a big mess filing police reports and fraudulence on our account. When this happened we were told the cameras "mysteriously" were not working. We were never notified that cameras were down for maintenance or not working. The owner and full time manager live out of state. We asked for the local, part time unit manager name as we had suspicions they might be involved and we received no help from the owners. Our lock was missing for at least 6 days and our unit was never inspected. We found the missing lock ourselves after being notified of the fraudulent check. Very poor business management. We moved our stuff the next day. Would not recommend this business to anyone who wants their belonging safely stored.
