After today's drive up pickup order experience, I will actively be avoiding giving this location my…read morebusiness. I am a target circle 360 member and routinely place pickup and delivery orders as I have two young children which are difficult to shop with in store. I have only ever picked up an order ONE time from here as I do not live in this area, but find myself here temporarily as my family and I have been displaced following an emergency at our home. Due to being on an important call the entire way to the store to pickup my order, I wasn't able to hit 'I'm on my way' in app, which has happened before at other locations never with ANY issue. I get to this location and park in spot #1, and hit 'I'm here'. I expected it would take some time because I didn't let the store know I was on the way, but being the only car there I didn't think it would take 20 minutes. Regardless, when the team member arrived at my car I was courteous and didn't complain. I open my trunk and give her my pickup number as she begins throwing my order in the trunk and without as much as a hello begins to LECTURE me about the inconvenience I've caused through not hitting 'I'm on my way', how they have to meet certain metrics and I need to do that in the future (there won't be a future because I don't live in the area, and even if I did I would never return here). I apologize and tell her it's been a very difficult morning and I forgot to do that while distracted by my situation and my small children crying in the car. Instead of stopping, she continued to express her frustration with how I should have hit 'I'm on my way' and how NEXT time I need to do that. She left my trunk open when done, no thank you, nothing but complete disgust and attitude. Please note that this is a representation of your store. It is completely unacceptable to behave that way, especially not knowing what people may be experiencing in their personal lives already. I've called the manager and talked to them about this situation, and although I appreciate her apologizing, she also defended the fact that this store strictly reinforces notifying the store when you're on your way, even going so far as saying they give people NOTES and printouts about how it's important to let the store know you're on the way...lol. You shouldn't have anyone on the way to your store period with the lack of professionalism and appreciation for your customers. Yuck.

I get that thrift stores often smell unpleasant, but Valpo Vintage needs a good airing out. It's…read morenot even an old-stuff smell -- it's more like a restroom smell. And this was confirmed when I visited the restroom, which also serves as the fitting room. (P.S. They don't have a fitting room here, but if you ask nicely, a grumpy person will let you try on stuff in the restroom, while standing outside of said restroom.) Someone needs to come by and sift through the things for sale here, and get rid of 60% of them. Have you ever seen footage of someone clearing a table or counter by sweeping their arm across a pile of stuff? Someone needs to come and do that to Valpo Vintage, metaphorically. (Or literally, really.) More is not more, sometimes. I did find a cool Shirley Temple glass mug, though. And a blouse that I thought was cool, but after trying it on in the restroom, I confirmed that it was too big and blousy for me. Mostly, though, this place has a lot of junky things, and not very many cool vintage things. It's like an indoor yard sale: items that someone wants out of their house.
