I have Katie for the Jessica Geleration file and polish which is a reasonable £22 - and last for 12-14 days! I have also had a facial with Katie (she uses Elemis products, which are beautiful, nourishing and left my skin looking flawless. From being a student, I would make my way once a month to nail queen to have my false frenchies put in place. This weekend I came home for a wedding and was in desperate need of my nails doing and off I tottered back to Nail Queen - the place I'd always relied on. The same husband and wife still reside and the same, as with all nail salons, is instantly recognisable. I was seated straight away and hands grabbed forward. From memory, I always preferred the wife to do my nails but this time it was the husband. They're quick and efficient but I always feel that the wife just cares that little bit more. I left, 70% happy. Some of my nails were slightly wonky and the colour of had put on (dark red) had ran onto me fingers but this washed straight off. When and if I'm home again, and in need of my nails doing I will probably always return here. I know the place, it's trustworthy and it's £25 for a good set of gel nails - can't ask for much more really?!

The business is clean, fresh and quirky and looks fantastic and this probably explains why the staff can be somewhat snooty and intimidating and then should be really, running a place like this. In all my years of going here I have not seen a hair part so I will leave that bit out. But they do a fantastic job at nails! Whatever you want, they will do it! You can have union jack or glitter on them. They have some amazing photos of work that they have done. Friendly team and excellent service. Harriet is fast and my gel nails always look fab and last longer than any others I've had in the past. You also get offered a complimentary glass of bubbles which goes down a tear while getting your nails pampered. Gel nails cost £22 with removal of previous set included. I recently had my gels off which is £5 or free with any service, so I opted for a file and polish which cost £8 and lasted literally 10 days before it started to chip. Amazing! You can book online and I would highly recommend Harriet's service for nails. I can't comment on other beauticians as haven't experienced their services.

She doesn't judge me for my low pain threshold and gets the job done quickly and as pain free as possible. It's excellent value for money and a lovely salon too. Visited June 2011…read more It wasn't very clean (dirty sinks, radiators, shelves, used face cloths from previous customers laying around) and the treatment room was cramped with 2 beds in, giving the therapist little room to manoeuvre. I had a Groupon for a facial, Indian Head Massage and full body massage. I arrived at 4pm and was back in the car by 4.50pm, including the time it took to get dressed/ undressed. The therapist who did my facial didn't remove my eye make-up (I don't think she was being careful of it as it ended up smudged all over my cheeks); the IHM involved lots of oil and a tiny bit of rubbing on the top of my head; and the full body massage didn't include my feet, arms, hands, backs of my legs or chest but did include her pressing down painfully hard on my spine. Loud music was piped into the room throughout (Take That, Robbie Williams, Corinne Bailey Rae) which wasn't very relaxing. All in all I was very disappointed and wouldn't go back. I do wonder if this was due to me having a discount coupon.
