In shopping for a mattress, I did my homework first exploring ratings on mattresses as well as…read more suitable places. Haywood Bedding advertised great discounts, specifically for cash and carry. In addition, any purchase over $599 gave the customer their choice of free delivery, pillows, or a bed frame. I like to shop local businesses so this looked perfect. I found a mattress and foundation set that was perfect with a small (12%) discount. I was to be charged $69.00 for delivery. When I referred to the ad, Danny said that he hadn't looked at the website. I called later to make arrangements and asked that if I paid for delivery, I'd like the bedframe. They called me back to tell me that that ad was supposed to have been pulled! They would give me the bedframe but I would still have to pay for delivery and would get no discount on the mattress set. Do these people not realize that: a) False advertising is subject to penalties and b) It was such an incredibly dumb move to work at losing a customer instantly that it doesn't even rise to the level of bad business. After I heard Haywood's terms, I went to another store and bought the same mattress set. Yes, they are new in town and offered me both free delivery and a bedframe in addition to fair pricing.

They were absolutely perfect for what we wanted to be the main feature on the new patio! Not having enough space for both, swings and couch, this was the best solution. The piece wasn't cheap, but had 15 year warranty and it being in a covered porch, I'm sure will last even longer. Waiting for it to be delivered next week. It will be hung by the delivery people. Unfortunately, we didn't take a picture of it. BUT, we figured a person familiar with the store would know about the chest, because it was an unusual 48" wide. There was not another one of that width in the entire store. When I asked the gentlemen who was "helping" us if he remembered a 48" wide chest in the store. All I got was, "We've had lots of 48" wide chests. That's not enough to go on." Well, we just showed him the finish we were looking at, and I'm thinking he could look at what sold in the last two months that was 48" wide, but, whatever ... Off we went; No Sale.

Helpful sales staff, but that's where it ended…read more The sales staff were helpful during the buying process. Unfortunately, that's where the good experience stopped. I've spent about $6,000 at this store recently. Within the first week, I told them about a problem with our loveseat and asked about the return policy. I was told they don't offer returns. They said they could look at an exchange, but first they wanted a chance to fix the issue. I agreed. A technician came out the following week. He made a couple of adjustments and found a tear that happened when the delivery crew dropped it off. He ordered a new armrest and left. The original problem was still there. I called again. They sent the technician back. He made a few more adjustments, and now the loveseat is worse than before. At that point, they asked us to come in and look at an exchange. We drove an hour and a half to the store and picked out a replacement. Then we waited another week, only to be told they would not do the exchange because we have a dog. The dog was never raised as an issue during the sale, the two service visits, or when they invited us in to pick out a replacement. I reported this problem the same week the furniture was delivered. Five weeks later, I'm stuck with a loveseat I can't sit in. The replacement armrest for the tear their delivery crew caused won't arrive until January. I've been a repeat customer. Never again. In my experience, this store does not stand behind what it sells or keep its word. If you're shopping for furniture, go somewhere else.
