We purchase a new mattress, box spring, and head when we moved to Asheville almost 6 years ago - it was a great experience and it's still a great bed. We were redoing a room and wanted to replace and bed So we called Affordable and spoke with Patrick. He pulled our file, suggested a new bed to match ( a little style name change). On June 20, 2024 I decided to go into Affordable Bedding in search of a mattress. Mind you, that I am an 80 year old Elderly women, who lives alone! I met with the owner, Patrick McMahon. I tested a few of them out, only to find they were too soft for me. I informed Patrick that what I was looking for & needed, was a "Medium Firm" mattress, nothing else. He understood my need & that would not be a problem. However, I was not finding what I needed. Then he decided that he had one more mattress for me to try out, so I did. It "Seemed" to be OK, at the same time one does NOT really know until you get to sleep on it for a month or 2. At this point I am very tired, need to use a rest room & just want to go home. He let me use his restroom. I come back out & said I would come back another day. He did not want me to leave, so he lets me know that he was willing to take off $200, But, I had to buy the mattress that very moment, otherwise the deal was off! At this point I am feeling, PRESSURED & COERCED into buy this mattress that I was not ready to buy. He also indicated, that it was his last one in stock. I that day I had just gotten an injection in my left eye due to a Stroke I had, that I also shared with Patrick, so I was very tired by this time & wanted to go home & now I didn't know what to do. I became uncertain & confused as to what to do. The cost of the mattress was $1658 + tips, more than I could really afford, since I live on a Fixed Income of $1,500 a month. On June 27th, I received the mattress. That night as I went to bed, I come to realize that Patrick sold me a "FIRM", not a "MEDIUM FIRM" mattress, as I stated! I tried it out for 2 months in the hopes it would soften up. It didn't & my back was hurting. On August 21st, I went back to Patrick & let him know how Unhappy I was that he sold me such a mattress when I was very clear with him as to what I needed. I repeated myself, I need a "MEDIUM FIRM" mattress. Once again he had me try out another mattress & once again it "SEEMED" to be OK. On Aug 27th, I received that mattress! That night as I went to bed, once again, I realize that now Patrick sold me a "PLUSH", not a "MEDIUM FIRM" mattress, as I stated! This mattress has turned out to be a "Horror" for me. My back is worse than ever, to make matters worse, other joints are not causing me pain. And it gets worse by the day. On Sept 19th, I went to Affordable Bedding to speak with Patrick regarding selling me the wrong mattress, once again! He tried to justify what he did by saying that he tried to help me out as much as possible. I stated once again that he knew what I needed & if he didn't have it, then he should not have sold me anything else in the hopes that would be satisfying. I also told him how much pain I was in. I stated to him, that it was not OK with me what he has cost me, that he could make it right "IF" he wanted to, but, Patrick did NOT!! On Oct 23rd I went to speak with Patrick as a last stitch of effort to get a resolution knowing what part he played in my ending up with the wrong mattress. I told Patrick that I was there because someone suggested that I talk with him once again in the hope that you would want to do the right thing by me. I stated to Patrick that he did not help me by selling me the wrong kind of mattress, he only helped himself out by making a "SALE' for that day! That was his main interest, not me, not what I needed, but, rather, what Patrick needed. That was his Priority! Patrick remained Un-willing to do the right thing!! I trusted this man, to be honest with me but he was not. He Lied to me, he Pressured & Coerced me into buying something, Cheated & Scammed me out of a lot of money & caused me a great deal of pain to boot! His customers are Not his priority, GREED is!! Instead, Patrick McMahon willingly & knowingly took my money & left me stranded!! I MISTAKENLY TRUSTED HIM!! And YOU shouldn't either! read more

I originally owned a Temperpedic mattress for 5 yrs, and moved it to another bedroom. I decided to get a regular mattress i still can not get used to new coil mattress its been 3 months.
