The window at night. I turned up the light sensitivity so you could see what it looked like to human eyes.
    Ed I.

We walked into our room at 10:00 p.m. and the light streaming into the window made it seem like dawn. There was a bright spotlight on the ground aimed directly at our window. We closed the curtains but since they are white on the outside they reflected the bright light back onto the walls and into the room. We asked if the light could be turned off. Nope. They moved us to another room, but only made us one key card. I asked for a second card. We got to the new room and it also had a spotlight in the window. Sleep inn has spotlights outside of all the windows! I tried to call the front desk on the phone but the phone was dead. We gave up and went to bed. The next morning I headed for the pool but it was shut down. I went to the workout room. I could not get the television to display any channels. I asked them how to work the TV and they said their cleanup person would take care of it. I was there for 45 minutes and the cleanup person never showed up. The water dispenser was empty. All of the cops were gone. There was text in a foreign language on the screen.

Mold on the curtains and dirt piled up on the window..

Was stuck on side of the road and only place available ..Had to move to a different room as the washroom facilities didn't work..Had to ask twice for assistance..Just no overall hospitality..

Nice room! Windows could use a cleaning, though.

After driving for 12 hours, this was to be our overnight resting place. Other than a very over filled trash can and a ton (and I mean ton) of cig butts at the entrance, the lobby, breakfast area, and lounge were very clean. Check-in was friendly and fast. Our room, on the 3rd floor was and end suite that was vet spacious and contemporary. Large windows let in the afternoon sun and warmed the room. The bathroom was very spacious and clean. No evidence of mold or mildew missed by staff. Although it appears that the hotel and rooms have had recent improvements, about four of the tiles under the sink as if from settling. This did detract from the overall aesthetic, but only mildly. In a hotel room, and in particular the bathroom, cleanliness and proof of regular maintenance are very important. The entire room was comfortable and very welcoming. The Sleep Inn in North Liberty, IA also has a dos and pool and very small fitness room. We did not use the pool or spa but they were in very good shape and also appeared clean and well maintained. B The fitness room contains a small weight universal, one treadmill, and a recumbent stationary bike. They also provide water. A basket that was supposed to contain clean towels was empty. The carpet was very dirty, as though it had not been vacuumed in a long while. This, the scads of cig butts and trash around the entrance grounds, and the sickeningly sweet smell of what I can only describe as teriyaki beef jerky in the 3rd floor hallway are two reasons why this review is at four stars instead of five. Breakfast is sufficient if not underwhelming. "Omelets" are available. And are the result of our disgusting pre made processed food product world. However, waffles, sausage, biscuit and gravy, juices, cereals, breads, and yogurts are also available. Coffee is decent. There are more than enough choices before one hits the road to at least get you to where you are going. Over all, we felt that $75.00 per night plus the $12.50 pet fee was a little pricey for this hotel but we enjoyed our stay and the super comfy beds after a very, very early and long 750+ miles drive over 11+ hours. Our pets were very welcome and very happy as well, which goes a long way as well. And, the pet fee was definitely very fair. The overall price seemed a tiny bit high. This not a full service hotel and there are few conveniences within walking distance. Restaurants, retail shopping centers, and grocery stores are about four miles from the hotel. Other than what was mentioned here as detracting aspects, we strongly recommend the Stay Inn if you are passing through or visiting someone in the area.

Great place to stay, whether for a night or a week. Friendly staff and one of the cleanest hotels I've ever stayed in.

My wife and I are long-time, active members of the Hilton Honors Program, and we choose Hilton…read moreproperties whenever possible because we typically receive excellent service and consistency. Unfortunately, this experience did not reflect the standards we have come to expect from the Hilton brand. We arrived at the hotel on Friday, December 5th, for a large, two-day wrestling tournament taking place across the highway from the hotel. Many of the team's families were staying at this same property. We initially booked our stay for two nights with plans to depart Sunday morning. Prior to the incident in question, there were a few minor maintenance issues in our room (a showerhead needing replacement and a couple of broken items), as well as some snow accumulation on walking surfaces outside. However, these were not major concerns. The hotel itself was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and all staff we encountered up to that point were friendly and professional. As the tournament progressed on Friday, the weather forecast for a minor snowstorm quickly escalated into a significant storm expected to hit the Iowa City metro area by 6:00 PM on Saturday, December 6th. Due to safety concerns, the tournament organizers adjusted the schedule to conclude much earlier than planned so families could travel safely. In our fifteen years of traveling for wrestling, this is only the second time we have ever seen a tournament schedule changed mid-event due to weather. Given the seriousness of the forecast, my wife and I made the decision to leave immediately after the tournament concluded rather than risk traveling during the storm. On Saturday morning at approximately 8:00 AM, as we were leaving for the tournament, I spoke with the front desk receptionist and explained our situation and weather-related safety concerns. I asked whether we could cancel the second night of our stay. The receptionist acknowledged the concern and told me she could not process it herself, but that the manager would be able to assist once he or she arrived. At her request, I left my name and phone number for a return call. At 11:30 AM, having received no call, I contacted the front desk again. I was reassured once more that this would not be an issue and that the manager would contact me upon arrival. At 1:30 PM, as the tournament was concluding and we were preparing to leave town, I called again to resolve the matter before departing. At this point, the tone and information from the front desk changed completely. The receptionist became rude and dismissive and informed me that the manager would NOT be coming in and would NOT assist with the request whatsoever. I asked multiple times for a return call from management and was explicitly told that no call would be made. The abrupt change in communication, combined with the unprofessional and rude behavior shown during this final interaction, was extremely disappointing. Given the legitimate safety concerns related to a major winter storm and the multiple reassurances provided earlier in the day, I believe our request to cancel the unused second night was both reasonable and justified. At a minimum, we feel we are entitled to: - A return phone call from hotel management, and - Reimbursement for the unused second night due to the documented weather emergency and early departure. We have always trusted the Hilton brand for consistent service and professionalism, and it is our sincere hope that this matter will be reviewed and resolved appropriately.

The landscaping is neat. The staff is very professional but where they need work is replacing some of the beyond wore chairs in the sleeping quarters, more professional signage throughout the worn carpeted hallways for rooms marked for staff instead of elementary handwritings, replacement of some of the chipped tables in other words it's time to spend some money on needed well worn furnishings and signage that signifies the Hilton Brand. Even with those shortcomings it is still close to the campus, and hospital offering clean standard rooms, and has a connected private restaurant which is good for those crowded game days where you want to retreat to your place of relaxation and yet still be a part of the "Go Hawks" atmosphere.

We stayed at the Marriott the night prior but due to an…read moreevent the following day they tripled the price of their rooms so we looked elsewhere to stay. Unfortunately we found this Days Inn. I knew right away just by the look of the exterior that this was a bad idea. When we checked in, one of the ladies behind the counter was holding a new born infant in one arm while attempting to check a person in. That was really odd. Got our room keys and went around to the side of the building and went in. The place smelled bad, and it looked like the carpets haven't been vacuumed or cleaned in years. There were cigarette butts and other litter everywhere. Walked into the room and was immediately greeted by the smell of 10,000 ash trays. The sign on the wall says they charge $250 if you smoke in the room. I'm assuming they don't enforce that. It was bad. I just felt dirty being in there. Walked into the bathroom, and there they were. Two roaches scurrying behind the toilet. And that was my ticket out of there. Went up front and demanded a refund. The lobby was busy and I think that's why they didn't give us any push back as there were a lot of Iowa fans in town for the opening weekend football game. I truly believe that had the lobby been empty they wouldn't have given us a refund. This place is disgusting. Wouldn't stay here if our car burst into flames and they were the only hotel left with rooms within 50 miles.
