Booked this hotel during Parents Weekend at the UK and it was $$$! Smelled like cigarette smoke when I arrived and throughout my stay. Pot smell on night two throughout the room wafting in from some unknown location. Microwave did not work, fridge was somewhat operable, coffee maker did not work. Woke up at 5am to a cigarette smell. Complained about appliances not working and they said they would fix it...but did not. Dogs barking on night two. Rooms clean, but cigarette holes in comforter. Too bad--this would be a good place but they need to enforce the rules! read more

I booked this hotel for another guest that was flying in through a third party site and for some odd reason, I could not get through to the hotel. Google has the wrong phone number for this location. The actual number is (859) 543-8400. Do not rely solely on this review alone because whomever is working the front desk may or may not actually answer the phone. I had to go to this location to make sure my reservation went through. The individual just confirmed that the number was what it was based on the business cards by the desk. 08/31/2025 The guest came in on 08/30/2025 and she was able to stay the night. While getting her settled, we noticed that room 220 did not lock. I am not writing about the lock one can use from the inside (I think there are three locks on hotel doors: the one where one has to put in a card key to open the door, the dead bolt lock that one turns on the inside and the hinge lock that one can put when inside the room). The lock that is triggered by the card key was not working and as a result anyone could just open the door and walk right in, without even putting a card. The front desk individual who was working 7-10 p.m. was able to switch her out into another room on the third floor 320. No issues there. The hotel does look like it needs to reprint the fire exit by stairway directions because the lettering is worn away (outside the elevator, to the left on the third floor). Room 220 has white stains on the carpet and noticeable marks on the walls and fridge. I had been to another Sleep Inn in Owensboro and this definitely was not at that standard. For safety hazards at this hotel, I am giving this hotel a two star. read more

This hotel has deceptive pricing practices and does not honor corporate group rates. I booked with a corporate group rate weeks in advance. On the day of my stay - well after the cancel deadline - the hotel called to say they would not honor the group rate without proof I was a corporate employee. I had been on vacation for 10 days and did not have my work ID with me. Who vacations with their work ID? Good grief! Stay away. This hotel's management has very deceptive pricing practices. Yes, I found online that, technically, in the fine print, a hotel can ask for proof of eligibility to use a corporate code. But in 15+ years of using various corporate discount codes with Choice Hotels, this is the FIRST and ONLY hotel that has EVER refused to honor the discounted rate when I arrived. Recently spent 5 nights at the Sleep Inn - Lexington while on a motorcycle trip with friends. The hotel is conveniently located to restaurants (fast food to sit down), gas stations, and a shopping center. They do provide free breakfast, with coffee all day. Although this hotel could use some updates, including replacing the drainage covers on the pool decking (missing in places, broken in other places) the room was clean, the bedding was comfortable, the outside of the appearance of the hotel was good and I felt safe. The front desk staff was wonderful. I would stay here again if traveling through the area. read more

Wasn't impressed with the facility. My bedding had holes in it The staff was friendly. They seemed more like the people you would meet at a bar versus working a hotel. Which really made the stay worth while. If you looking for a decent no bells and whistles place to stay this is the place. The price was good and the staff accommodating. read more

After driving for 9 hrs and stopping here and there along the way we needed sleep. With 3 other hotels in the area we did some price checking. This establishment was 20% lower so being in a budget we decided to give it a try. Night desk staff friendly and welcoming. Room is small efficient and super cute.the shower looks so small but has more room then you think. Mini fridge, micro, coffee maker all in room. Outside pool is closed but then again morning temps are 42 degrees. The gym is clean with working equipment. Beds comfortable with small but comfortable pillows. 4 out of 5 stars due to back door area is not secure, and grab and go breakfast a little sparse. But hey for less then $90 a great value, clean, peaceful room, and convenient location. read more

Bad experience. The bed is very hard. The pillows are small, lumpy and hard. It sounded like the people in the hall were partying from around 9:30 pm until late. The TV did not have CC. The remote for the TV DID NOT WORK! The toilet was not Handicap accessible. IT is very difficult to use for a senior with hip problems. And there was NO HAND RAILS!!! I sent this into their Customer Service to see if they would respond with a gesture of good faith and nothing. Therefore this review is going up and we will not be staying there anymore. I would also suggest anyone reading this to do the same. read more

Very bad experience. This place is not for one who has any type of discriminating preferences at all. The bed is very hard. The pillows are small, lumpy and hard. The shower floor is extremely slick where my husband and I both slipped around inside. It sounded like the people above us were throwing furniture around from 11:30 pm until 3:30 am, as well as playing loud, thumping music. The carpet was wet in front of the mini fridge. We couldn't get to sleep until 4:00 from all the noise and then had difficulty sleeping because of the quality of the pillows and mattress. A man literally took all of the breakfast pastries, which was about 20, so that there was none left for anyone else. I will never, ever stay here again nor recommend it. read more

I stayed here two nights with 3 co-workers, while on a business trip. The front desk had messed up our reservations. Once that was straightened out, they got us assigned to our rooms on the "newly renovated" third floor. Within minutes of arriving, one of my co-workers discovered a large black bug in her bed. . Another co-workers' bed was unsteady if you sat on the corner of it. The molding along the floor in my room was pealing away from the wall and when I hung a towel on the hook in the bathroom, the hook fell out of the wall. Also, the swing lock on the door was broken and there was dried plaster on the frame of the bathroom door. I don't know who they used for the renovation, but they did shoddy work. The hallway had a distinct smoky smell, especially near the elevator. Coincidentally, there is a large no smoking sign nearby. On the plus side, the breakfast choices included waffles, fresh fruit, bacon, pre-made egg patties.. They also had bagels, biscuits and gravy and juices and coffee. Unfortunately when I went to get a second cup, the pot was empty and they had forgotten to start a replacement. Should I return to Lexington, I'll definitely be staying somewhere else. read more

Couldn't have chosen a better place to stay! I had a king room which was perfect. Bed was huge and comfy and most importantly, was clean. Upon check-in we utilized the pool and had it to ourselves for two hours! Was such a nice way to relax after a long drive. Would definitely stay at the Sleep Inn every time I'm in Lexington and will look for them when traveling to other places as well. Also, the hotel is close to the interstate, restaurants, and shops. read more

We booked a room knowing that the hotel was listed as pet friendly. I walked into hotel with 2 dogs that each way 6 lbs. We were told by an extremely unpleasant front desk employee that only one dog was allowed. He then said he would charge us the double rate and said it wasn't his hotel. This employee has no compassion and should never be employed in customer service. My dogs and I will find a better hotel. read more

Room was clean and place was well kept. On the pricey side for what you get. The back door by the stair which is where I parked did not lock so kind of sketchy. When I was leaving in the morning sitting in the bushes was a home made car break in tool. It was a stick with a hook taped on the end of it Just be sure if you stay here to put your windows up all the way and lock your car. Hide any valuables from sight. Had breakfast bags only which was a cereal bar, apple, chocolate muffin, and a bottle of water. Better than nothing I guess. read more

Pros: Clean Big rooms (I had a king size single room) Friendly staff In a nice area for visiting Lexington Cons: Worst bed I've ever slept on. Stiff as a board. The breakfast area is set up where it isn't convenient to move around. It has one entrance and there are counters on both sides for self serve, but you can't walk around one wall; so that leaves you going in one way and fighting the crowd to get back out with a plate full of food. It's just the setup doesn't make any sense. And it's very small, so welcome to awkwardness- and I didn't even get food I was just trying to get a cup of water out of the fountain drink machine. Ridiculous prices around that area, maybe I just came on a bad weekend but that's not just sleep inn, all the hotels were over priced. read more

We had a great stay. The beds were comfy, the staff was friendly the room was clean and well furnished with everything we needed. As someone with Celiac, I found plenty of options for a gluten free breakfast. I was extremely pleased with the breakfast offerings. The walls were a little thin and I heard my neighbors playing music and getting ready in the morning but that may have just been because we had an adjoining room. Traveled to Lexington for medical procedure for husband and needed access room. Very accommodating to our needs. Room very clean and comfy with plenty of hot water. Amazing friendly staff! One in particular I'd like to say a special thank you to, her name is Lyric. She went way above and beyond for us. Full hot breakfast was good. Outdoor pool was very clean and maintained. Definitely will return in the future and recommend this hotel to others. Very pleased with our 3 day stay. read more

Clean lodgings reasonably priced; helpful staff. We went out all day and upon arriving back, our room key did not work even though we were staying another night, as per our reservation. In addition, our room was not made up during the day when we were gone. This is unacceptable! Front desk staff brought in new towels and coffee when we complained. Their housekeeping system seems inefficient. read more
