I am a local. Family was coming in from 3,000 miles drive. Denise at front desk checked me in. Gave me two keys and then said her manager said no pets. I told her o have paperwork and a doctors note for my service dog. Worst scam is this happened one and a half months ago and neither one of them will answer hotels.com phone calls and say that I legitimately never set foot in their room. She refused to give meANY kind of paperwork or anything at all saying I did not stay there. $295 dollars hotels . Com is charging me. They, quality inn, won't answer my phone calls either. Total scammers. She knew exactly what she was doing the entire time she was " checking me in". Then she checked her phone after giving me the keys. She said oh my manger said no animals. I checked in at 3:45 in the morning paid for Friday Saturday and checking out Sunday but little did I know they tell me that Friday was still considered Thursday since it was that early in the morning, so they locked me my room until I paid for either the Saturday in the Sunday or I would leave so I up paying for the extra night that I thought I already paid for then housekeeping wouldn't give me the extras that I asked for they said it was considered stealing and there's cameras if I I had to go to the front desk to ask for it. I do not recommend this hotel. We stayed last night and I noticed two charges on my credit card. When we went to check out we couldn't find the desk clerk. After waiting a few minutes she came from outside where she was smoking. When we asked about the charges she said they are pending and there will only be one. I made a reservation for 4/10/24 by mistake for a funeral that I was coming into town for on 10/15/24. It was 10PM when I made the mistake from Charlotte,NC for the Conway,SC location. I called them to change it and they told me that since it was passed the 9th (which was the cutoff date), that I was considered a "NO SHOW" I explained that it was a mistake and that I would like to change it to the correct date. They told me that it was my fault and that they would not refund my $100. The person that answered the phone was rude and said that the general manger would not speak to me because they are out of the country. She said this happens all of the time and I can make a new reservation and pay for another room. If this happens all of the time, then do the right thing, and help your own business. The worst hotel that I have ever stayed in. Only stayed 1 hour of a 2 day reservation. Checked out had to pay for 1 day which wasn't unexpected. Stayed here twice and that's it. I'll drive 30 minutes before I would stay here again. The first time I was put into a room they acted like it was the best they have. It was actually a conference room they turned into room by putting a stow away bed (Folds up against the wall. It was so bad, my back hurt for weeks and they had bugs everywhere. I could tell they had just had a party there due to the streamers still hanging from the ceiling. Not to mention the paint falling off in chunks. The next stay, Bugs again, Roaches!! They call them Palmetto Bugs but I think the little things are Roaches. The bed was ok but the pillows were so big and hard my neck hurt all day for 2 days. I ask if I could get a early check out and I was scheduled to be there 5 days but checked out after 3 well before the 11am check out. The woman at the deck said sure and checked me out with a $287 Credit due back to my CC. When it finely showed up it was $187, early check out charge applied after I left and only knew after seeing it on my CC statement. I complained but was still charged $100 early check out. I see in the other reviews this is standard practice at this location. It was worth it to get out of there! This hotel is an abomination. Let me explain: My 2 brothers and I just stayed there for about 2 weeks. Our father lives nearby and has been sick, but when his condition advanced quickly, we had to book something fast. He's now on his deathbed at home under hospice care. This was the closest place to stay - not much to choose from nearby. It appeared to be clean and affordable, and we didn't know how long we'd be here, so went with it. Firstly, the website advertises free continental breakfast. There is none - the breakfast area was cordoned off with caution tape, so only had a stale coffee machine. Fine. There is rarely someone at the front desk, because usually they are mopping the floors or just unavailable. If you don't ask for your room to be cleaned, they do not clean it. And after asking repeatedly for more coffee packets, i finally got them after about a week and a half, and after asking for my bathroom to be cleaned, they finally cleaned it at around the same time. The pool is not operating but is green, uncovered and filthy - a large petrie dish right outside my window. Ok, fine. Truth be told, i had very low expectations and really only needed coffee and a clean bathroom, but it took a lot to get there. Most of the time the cleaning crew is outside smoking cigarettes. You hear every noise in the hallway, and that included a drunken guest waking everyone up with his yelling in middle of night before the cops took him away, doors slamming at all hours, as well as continual marijuana smoke coming from across the hall. The kicker, however, is something i have never experienced EVER, and am in the hospitality business and have traveled all over the world. When it came time to stay at my Dad's house, since he could no longer be alone at night, i went to the hotel at around 2pm one day to check out. My Dad had fallen the night before so we knew it was time to make do at his home. The room had already been serviced, and it was clear that it was not needed by other guests. However, i was told by Chris at the front desk that i was likely going to be charged for that night's stay anyway. We had 3 rooms total for 2 weeks and were planning to check out of 2 of them at that point - all told I was going to be spending about $5K at this godforsaken place.I told Chris if that's what they had to do then fine, and he told me that he would try asking the GM (whom i never saw in 2 weeks) about it. Then when i asked him to explain my bill so i knew what total I would be charged, he was unable to do so, and told me most of the time people just check their credit card statements to figure it out. I told him that i didn't really have time to do that since i was helping to take care of my father on his deathbed. His response was "Cool. I don't really care about your father. My grandfather died in the war - i have my own issues." and began cursing at me. I never once raised my voice and explained that he, like me, was in the hospitality business, and that he really shouldn't speak to guests that way, and he told me he didn't really care, and he told me i had an attitude when he was trying to "help" me. I explained that he wasn't, in fact, helping me. He told me to get out, and said he was going to call the cops on me. For asking about my bill. He then said he hadn't done this before (explained the bill) so i guess i embarrassed him by asking? But then proceeded to yell again at me to get out and picked up the phone to call the police. I was STUNNED told him to go ahead. I finally started walking out, and he proceeded to say "Oh, so you're running away now?" as i walked out the door. I must admit i called him a piece of sh$%# on the way out, because he is. So, on top of dealing with the impending death of my dad, I had to deal with this after spending $5K. At the end of the day, i'm no prima donna and did not expect much from this place. But the way i was spoken to was unimaginable, and not representative of anyone else i met in Conway. Chris should not be in a position in which he is dealing with the public - no one should EVER be spoken to in that manner - especially a guest. On top of the fact that this hotel is really a disgusting place, suffice it to say i would not recommend. Read the other reviews to get more of the picture. In hindsight i should have just driven the extra 20 minutes to a different hotel. read more

This building is advertised as 100% non smoking. We found our room smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. We asked for another room. She claimed no rooms were available and they were sold out but the parking lot was less than half full. She did not care and did not offer any help and denied to refund our money because we booked through. 3rs party app. The pool was completely out of commission and looked like it had not been opened in years. I stayed at this hotel for 3 weeks in June 2021. It was okay. There aren't a lot of options right in Conway, so I chose this place while I was in town on family business. It's an older hotel, hallways are quite musty, but rooms are decent. My coffee tray was nasty with grime and food remnants, so I just stuck it in a drawer. The bedside lamp could have definitely used a good cleaning. My bed was comfy and clean, which was the most important thing. I loved the shower, but unfortunately the water tends to leak quite a bit onto the floor. Towels and washcloths are older, and many are stained. The staff were friendly and helpful if I needed anything. I would probably stay here again. read more

By far the worst hotel experience I have ever had in my entire life and I will be filing a claim against them to the US. Department of Justice. I live out of state and travel with my service dog for work, and usually I have her paperwork with me at all times. It was renewed recently and I did not have physical documents on me at check in, however, federal ADA laws protect service animal rights by forbidding that hotels request said paperwork upon check in (as there is no legal requirement for service dogs to be registered or even have paperwork to begin with). Denise, the staff member at the check in desk, asked me for my paperwork and when I brought my dog and I's federal rights to her attention, she fully admitted to being aware of these laws yet would still not let me check in. Her reasoning was that it was her bosses rule - She had the audacity to say she "doesn't care if it is against the law" because "[my] dog doesn't pay her, [her] boss does". Naturally I was frustrated and stressed, and I felt a panic attack coming in. My service dog alerted me as she is trained to do and I knew I needed to get out of there or resolve the situation quickly before I became unconscious. Truthfully, I was horrified that she would do something to my dog if I did become unconscious. I pleaded with her to be reasonable but instead she proceeded to call the police on me, demand that I wait outside in the 30 degree weather and threaten to have me escorted off the premises for trespassing. Distraught, frightened and absolutely infuriated, I drove to a nearby motel and had a panic attack in the parking lot. Speaking as a disabled female who travels alone, it is imperative that ADA laws are followed as this exact situation is reason they are put in place. It is mind boggling that a staff member is willing to admit they are breaking the law and have absolutely no sympathy or care for the person they are discriminating against. I have never been so horrified by a check in experience or disgusted by a hotel staff member. I will never, EVER stay with a Choice hotel again. This place is FILTHY! The room is disgusting and there is black mold. My daughter had to clean the room & pick pubic hairs off the toilet & out of the shower so I could use it post chemo. We paid $367 for 2 nights stay. I just spoke with the manager who has a major "I couldn't care less attitude". She offered to move me to another room, the entire hotel is FILTHY, or have someone clean mine. I'm here for a funeral and I'm stuck but I'm sending my pictures of this filth to the SC environmental people. The mold & strong chemicals make it hard to breathe. This place is absolutely HORRENDOUS!! Cockroaches EVERYWHERE! My daughter and I were staying here as a quick pit stop, and in the span of a day and a night we found THREE, yes THREE cockroaches crawling around our room. The first one my daughter found in the coffee machine (yes, INSIDE of the coffee machine), another one she found crawling on the bathroom wall, and the last one I found on the floor next to the beds. Thankfully we killed all of them but the fact that there could've been a chance they went into our beds, it just fills me with pure disgust. Not to mention a part of the ceiling was coming off and looked like something had leaked through so they painted over it. And in the bathroom there was mold on a part of the ceiling. Worst of all, they charged 100 dollars per night for this filthy room! 100 DOLLARS! For WHAT!?? A COCKROACH INFESTED ROOM?!? I've stayed in quite a few hotels, including the VA in Palo Alto Ca. I have never stayed in a motel as bad as this one. When we walked into out room the room smelled of mold. It seemed to be coming from the air conditioning unit. The iron in the room was dirty and the cord wasn't even put away nice. When we decided to get ice our ice bucket smelled like mildew. In the cabinet where our mini fridge was had some kind of stain that wasn't even clean. The house phone didn't work, to call the front desk we had to use our own personal cell phone. The day desk person was very pleasant, however the night desk person was extremely rude and she acted like she didn't have time for our concerns. My son was occupying our bathroom in our room. I went down to the lobby to ask to use the public restroom, the night clerk said the bathroom is out of order. The hallways smelled like weed, they were also dingy. Our TV volume couldn't be changed, when I asked the housekeeper about it she said yeah some of our rooms are like that. They also advertise having a pool however when we arrived they said the pool wasn't in service and they were not setting it up this year. There was a puddle of moldy dirty water in the bottom of the pool, it looked like it was mosquito invested, and that it hadn't been cleaned in quite some time. When we called for our reservation they yes they have a pool, acting like it could be used. In our room we had 2 queen beds they looked like they were sitting on top of a futon frame. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable. For what it cost to stay here I highly recommend that you not. This is the worst motel/hotel I've ever stayed in. read more

I stayed at the hotel in Conway, SC beside the Tractor Supply Store on Saturday September, 2022 and loved it . The rooms were updated with new furniture and the bed was very comfortable with 5 pillows on my king bed . Usually I have to ask other hotels that I stay at for extra ones. The towels were very nice and big . And the free breakfast was enough to get me through till lunch. The overnight manager was very nice and helpful with directions to my next destination. The carpets were filthy and the bathroom fixtures, walls and lights were in disrepair and overall bad shape. The place made my skin crawl. This hotel should be avoided. I stayed here in September of 2019 for just one night, I was on vacation all week and to close my vacation I decided to enjoy Myrtle Beach for a day or two so I arrived in town around Midnight on a Friday and checked with a few different hotels in the area but unfortunately they were all booked up for the weekend and so I checked with Sleep Inn of Conway and they said they had plenty of rooms available, I received my key and went directly to the room to find out that I was just ripped out of my money because it can only be described in one word and that is FILTH the room was completely filthy and just smelled bad. I immediately started to check the room out before becoming comfortable and as I imagined it was nasty, I have a couple photos to show just a glimpse of the nasty room. There was a smell of Sevin Dust in the room which was just hard to get used to, and there were stains on the sheets and covers everywhere. Some kind of big stain on the floor that I'm not sure what it was (see photo). This place was just disgusting and I was not at all happy to know I spent over $80 for one night. The front desk attendant was not polite at all she was acting like she is just fed up with her job and was kinda pushy and rude. I absolutely will sleep in my personal vehicle before staying here again in the future, the only reason I'm giving a one star is because you have to give a star in order to review. The room was halfway decent aesthetically... clean but the lights on the night stand didn't work and the electrical outlets on the lamps did not work. The hallways smelled strongly of smoke. The main issue I had is that for $85+ per night, the quality is too low. We had to kill about 3 roaches and a handful of baby roaches in the room while staying there for 3 nights...gross. No elevator, noisy (highway) close by, outlets didn't function, TV has it's volume regulated so that you can only hear your neighbors, not the TV. Hotel offered to move me to another room, but considering they HAVE roaches, a room change is not even on the table for a considerable resolution. Upon my arrival the lady at the front desk advised me that because they booked through a 3rd party I would have to give them a $50 cash deposit! I was told this is because people have been smoking in the rooms. I asked why they couldn't just hold a card like every other hotel? I was pointed to the hotel ATM where I was charged an additional $3.50 fee. When I checked out they didn't even inspect the room. There's no elevator here. Only one set of stairs. Looking for a place to stay before arriving for our NMB Vacation, I selected the Sleep Inn & Suites in Conway, NC based on both price and reviews. Needless to say, my experience was not reminiscent of the more positive reviews I had read across multiple websites. Issued room 209, I hauled our first set of travel belongings up the stairs (no elevators) while my wife managed our two young boys. Upon opening the door to the room, the smell of stale mildew-ey funk hit us in the face, and you could feel the moisture in the room. As I set down our belongings on one of the beds, my wife took notice of some white fuzzy matter on the carpet in multiple areas of the room. What was it? Fuzzy mold! Three different areas of the room (that we could actually see) had grown fuzzy white mold on the carpet! Thankfully, the front desk staff assisted us with being placed in a different room on the first floor, which did not have mold growth (at least visible). However, as I understand it, room 209 is not the only room that has experienced mold issues in this hotel. It appears that multiple rooms have had the air conditioning units replaced (analog to digital), and those rooms are the ones experiencing the issues with mold growth... Not to mention, the hotel had apparently been sold out the night before our travel - so was the room not cleaned thoroughly by housekeeping? Or is the mold just growing that quickly! I mean some kind of extra strong bubble gum smell. Not the good kind either! Refer had someone else's water left in it. I would rate higher but just can't get over that stank! all in all but would have enjoyed that $69 to $75 rate that other helpers mention. We paid $140 and today's rate is $190. We have been coming to this hotel for years, never had a bad experience from the staff or rooms. The staff have always been friendly, almost to the point of gaining new friends that we were excited to see everyday. This year was the biggest disappointment ever!!!!! We drove a long way to stay in this hotel as we do every year, making our room reservation before hand. Never booking online through a 3rd party, but calling and actually speaking to the staff. We booked 2 rooms for 4 days, being given a price with all the details of how much each day was. Being a frequent customer, we were not surprised at the price that we were getting. Just to make sure everything was done correctly and all information was given, a confirmation was received. Arriving to hotel, we go in to get the rooms only to be told that we can not get our rooms for the price that was discussed over the phone, but that it will be more. When asked to talk to the manager about the situation, the desk clerk got a attitude and looked frustrated. Once the manager was contacted, it was realized that she was in fact the same person that made the reservation. She said that she didn't give us that price but a another more expensive one. Confirmation was not even useful in this situation because they would not acknowledge it. We asked for a copy of there paperwork but was denied. Was told they did not have to show us anything. The desk clerk was just rude from beginning to end, not caring that we came a long way to get there and also had children that were in the car as well. When trying to ask what they could do to compensate us, we were told to leave. Being a regular at this hotel, and not having one bad experience ever. End result, we had to go up and down the highway looking for a decent hotel that was available for the 4 days that we were staying in town. Ok here is my review so far. We checked in yesterday around 7pm. I had made reservation thru AAA. Firstly, you pull in and see construction fences on end of parking lot. AAA said it was remodeled. NO it's under construction. A nice young man checks me in. At $40 higher than the price I was quoted. Whatever I'm exhausted. We are told there are doors at each end and steps. Wait, steps? Fine well, the steps at end we are staying on are behind the fence. So we have to walk the length of hotel then go up and down steps every time we go outside. Last night when we parked we pulled up into the middle of a drug deal. No joke. One man even had a gun. The woman with other guy was so high on something she couldn't be still or stop talking. She was barefoot and loud. She cussed and yelled through hotel. Then we get to room which is nice. It's very clean. Finally we can rest. Nope, a room full of construction workers who are working on this hotel, party ALL night. They were in 213. We are in at least 12 rooms away and We could hear their music all night. About 2 am one of them decides to run up and down halls singing and yelling at the top of his lungs. I go downstairs to complain. There's no one there. I never slept. It has been the worst experience ever. The breakfast was good. I would like to leave and go somewhere else but I've paid for 2 nights. I'm not even sure it could be fixed because there's still no one at desk. We arrive this evening and go on the mile long walk to room only to get there and keys not work. We were able to find someone to fix that. There's a huge group of workers outside our window now cooking and drinking, yelling. This poor experience comes down to poor management. The rooms are nice. Beds are comfy. Price isn't bad. But, drug deals, drunks waking you at all hours is unacceptable. They desperately need to change construction company's or make them follow some rules. My husband works thru AAA. I will be making sure they do not book this place. I also won't put up with it tonight. I'll call the police. I feel bad for anyone who is as tired as we are from traveling and have to be kept up all night. read more
