Booked appt for flat iron/ blow out a few days prior. 6pm on a weekday. When I arrived, it was not very busy. About 5- 7 employees. 1 had a client in chair for color. Another nice gal helped me out right away. Clean salon, lots of chairs for hair salon. Large beautiful mirrors. 2 mani/pedi nail stations In the back with a few employees waiting for clients to drop in. My coworker recommended this salon. Wash and flat iron was $45 with tip. Overall, ok experience. Would come back if in the area.

Not too much came off! Kelly is amazing.

I found this place back in 2018. Everybody I knew from my city an hour away would drive in this direction for haircuts. This place is totally worth the drive! They always greet you as soon as you come in - we love a welcoming, tentative, and friendly atmosphere. Key stories: MARCH 2023 I was over the ends of my former dried and blonde-dyed hair. Kelly wasn't available for a minuteee and I was looking forward to cutting my hair for the spring. I went to a nearby shop and asked for a trim and layers. BIG MISTAKE. My hair was crazy choppy and a hot mess. The "BEFORE" pic goes crazy. I left crying. Luckily, Kelly was available towards the end of the month. Thank, GAWD. She made it beautiful and blended again! Peep that "AFTER" pic sis! She saved me. MARCH 2024 Most of my former dyed hair is gone and Kelly is still slaaaaaaayinn' with my layers and v-cut! Peep the vid of me in my car. Love love love her work! So much body-ody-ody!

I felt like crying!! The girl who cut my hair was I believe Stephanie or something she didn't even bother looking at the picture I showed and cut my hair a totally different cut and even forgot about the bangs until I reminded her!! This just proved that she didn't look at the pic I showed her! She gave me almost like an Asian bowl haircut. The length was suppose to be like the picture which is past the chin

    The reference picture

Tiffany did a terrible job on my hair. I came in the day before Mothers Day to have my stepsons haircut, as well as mine. I showed her an image of the hairstyle I wanted and she gave me something that doesn't fit my face shape and it looks NOTHING like the picture! It wasn't a hard haircut/style to do. When I got into my car to leave, I noticed my bangs were completely uneven so I went back in there to have her "fix it" and all she told me was that when I wash it and style it, it will be/look even. That was a complete lie because It's been 1 week since she's cut my hair and I still hate it. I paid for a simple haircut that came out so ugly. Please see the reference picture and then what she gave me.

At best this was a slightly upgraded rub down that even my mom can do. Used 80% forearm and elbow which I hated and also requested kneading multiple times during the massage. She would do it for a few brief minutes and get back to the forearm, elbow, or basic pressing. It was terrible especially after experiencing world class technique and relaxation in Jamaica a few months ago. I still hesitantly tipped 8 bucks to make it an even $80 when I really wanted to tip 0. The receptionist questioned why and I explained to her all of the above and she simply said oh no she can't use her fingers the entire time and that I need to ask for a shiatsu massage. I don't think that was even on the menu. In my head I was thinking she barely even spent 5% of the time using her fingers. All in all, the recent negative reviews were accurate and similar experience to mine. I returned after many years due to convenience and hoping it would be a better experience this time. Unfortunately I will not be returning.

Review for Watercourse Way Bath House Spa…read more A peaceful oasis in the middle of Palo Alto that works for just about any occasion. This is a long overdue review. I have been to Watercourse Way by myself, with girlfriends, and with boyfriends--and it has been solid every single time. Whether you're looking for quiet alone time, a girls' day, or a relaxing couples experience, this place truly has something for everyone. What makes Watercourse Way special is the privacy and flexibility. The private rooms are beautiful and thoughtfully designed. Each one typically includes a hot tub, cold plunge, shower, and a comfortable resting area with clean towels and linens. It feels like your own little retreat tucked away from the world. They also offer larger rooms that are perfect for sharing with friends--soaking, chatting, and maybe adding a massage to the experience. The massage services are excellent, and you can book them individually, as a couple, or as part of a group visit. The staff makes the whole process easy and welcoming. A few practical notes: * Parking can be a little tricky right near the entrance * I usually park at the Whole Foods on Homer Avenue and walk a block or two--it's simple and feels very safe * The facility is consistently clean, well-maintained, and professionally run * Prices are reasonable for the level of privacy and service you receive What I appreciate most about Watercourse Way is how it encourages you to slow down. It's the kind of place that reminds you to take care of yourself, breathe, and reset. Life is short. Stress is unavoidable. You can't control other people--but you can control how you respond. So go soak. Get a massage. Unwind. Make it part of your routine. You'll leave calmer than when you arrived--and that alone makes it worth it.

UPDATE: Ronald Aleteanu, one of the owners, reached out to me via comment on here. He said "reach…read moreout directly so it can be resolved at the level it should have been", which is odd, because he was the one that initially sent me the business' refund policy when I asked for a refund and rejected my refund in the first place. It just feels like he is wanting to publicly look like he is addressing the situation properly. I did end up reaching out again today, per his request, and Elena Aleteanu, the other owner, has not changed her stance. She is telling me that they can't do anything on their end and that I need to reach out to Square. Square is telling me that they can't do anything on their end and that the business needs to initiate the refund. So, I reached out to Ronald again directly, and he did not respond. In addition, he got my Google review deleted and is trying to get this one deleted as well, but thankfully Yelp is a lot better about keeping honest reviews. I also forgot to note that the service was booked for two hours total, as a side by side massage. Elena tried to SCAM my sister and her partner by offering each a 1 hour service, one at a time (because of being understaffed), even though it is a two hour service. I paid $400 for the massages, so she's was trying to tell my sister that each service (which included a full massage and facial) of $200 was for one hour only, which is a lie. ORIGINAL POST: AVOID California Skin Care & Day Spa in Newark I prepaid for a service (it was a gift), received a confirmation reminder the day before, and made arrangements for my sister and her partner who are visiting from out of town. I even paid for an Uber to get them there. They arrived on time and the place was closed. No staff, no setup, nothing. They waited about 40 minutes, while I tried calling and messaging every available number. Eventually Ronald Aleteanu, one of the owners, responded on WhatsApp , but that did not change the situation and the service still was not provided. Between the Uber and waiting, this ended up wasting about 2 hours of their time (& money for the Uber), and they left with nothing. After all of that, Elena Aleteanu (who eventually came) claimed she had called and left a message (and at one point claimed that she talked to someone - a complete lie). I never received any call or voicemail, and I confirmed that the number I entered was correct. Their explanation just does not add up, especially since they had no problem sending a reminder the day before. What is most frustrating is that they still refused to issue a refund for a service they never provided. Instead, they only offered store credit, which is completely unreasonable. I would strongly recommend avoiding this place. I also posted this on NextDoor and numerous people replied noting that the same thing happened to them. So this is not an isolated incident. I've posted those screenshots here.

Review for Immersion Spa ‍…read more I absolutely loved this place, and to this day, I still miss it. When I lived in the Bay Area, I was a faithful and loyal customer at Immersion. It became one of my favorite self-care rituals. I would bring family and friends, and I went regularly--about once every quarter. It was something I always looked forward to. There is currently no Korean spa in Charlotte, North Carolina, where I live now, and the closest option is in Atlanta. So yes... boo-hoo. Nothing quite compares to this experience. What made Immersion special was the sense of freedom and relaxation the moment you walked through the door. The spa is thoughtfully organized, very clean, and beautifully maintained. You store your belongings in secure lockers, receive a waterproof wristband, and then the entire experience begins. I always arrived at least 90 minutes before my massage so I could fully enjoy the amenities. That extra time was part of the magic. My favorite features included: * The hot tub and invigorating cold plunge * The wet sauna and dry sauna * The gentle, calming warmth of the Himalayan salt room * Complimentary roasted tea and water * High-quality bath and shower products in the women's area * A peaceful, well-run environment with clear structure and cleanliness standards Everything felt intentional and relaxing. My go-to service was always the Fusion massage, which blends shiatsu and deep tissue techniques using organic coconut oil. The therapists were incredibly skilled and intuitive--they knew exactly how to work out tension and restore balance. Some of the best massages I've ever had were here. Over the years, prices have increased slightly--as they have everywhere. I remember paying around $100 before COVID, and later seeing it closer to $130. Even so, the value of the experience made it worth every dollar. I was there hook, line, and sinker. A few practical notes for future guests: * Parking is limited and shared with neighboring businesses (including Kumon), so timing matters * The spa has separate men's and women's areas * No outside shoes are allowed inside the spa * Clothing is optional in designated areas, which is standard for Korean spa culture * Plan to arrive early to fully enjoy the amenities before your service One service I personally never tried was the traditional Korean body scrub. I watched others experience it, and while many people love it, it looked a little too intense for my taste. That said, the massages and spa amenities are absolutely exceptional. If you're considering a membership, it's worth exploring. This is the kind of place that becomes part of your routine once you experience it. I still haven't found anything in the Southeast that truly matches the level of service, atmosphere, and overall experience of Immersion. I keep looking--but this one set the bar very high. Treat yourself. You deserve it.
