I wanted a firm that had an attorney I knew. After retaining that firm I learned that the attorney I knew had retired and was referring his cases to a new associate, who also eventually left. Handling my case then was a partner. I've since learned that the father of one of my son's children's theatre friends was an attorney at Rutter Mills. I feel certain he would have given my case the attention it deserved. And I'm also sure he would have known how to handle my emotions during depositions when I would cry because of the part of my life that was forever changed and the fact that the accident killed my beloved dog. The firm I hired recommended I settle for less than I deserved & had lost because the process was so upsetting for me. Rutter Mills handled the case of a former theater kid after his wife was killed in an automobile accident. I feel certain his case must have been gone so well because of the attorney we had both known so long. Should I ever have the need for a personal injury attorney firm again, I would certain retain Rutter Mills despite the fact that my friend has recently retired.

Unfortunately, that's not how we felt throughout our case. Instead of feeling supported, I felt like I constantly had to ask questions, follow up, and even uncover problems on my own. Finding out that certain things hadn't been done after being told they had was heartbreaking and made it very difficult to trust the process. I understand that law firms handle many clients, and I never expected constant updates. What I did expect was honesty. If there were delays or setbacks, I would have appreciated being told the truth instead of feeling like I was being misled. More than anything, I felt like my family's best interests came second. We deserved someone who would genuinely fight for us and treat our case with the care and attention it deserved. This experience added unnecessary stress to an already painful situation, and I hope no other family has to feel the same disappointment that we did.

They're a good company for the value, knowledge and getting the job done; however, I was a bit thrown off because I assumed I would be working with the same attorney I had my consultation with, which wasn't the case. I was given another name of an individual who was the handler of my documentation. I was then given a call to set up an appointment with yet another attorney, who I had to contact for an appointment because even though they contact you, you must call in to them for your appointment (to go over your documentation), they don't advise you of this. Once the appointmented time approached, no one contacted me, but they certainly had NO PROBLEMS reaching out to me asking when I'd be making a full payment, which, by the way, I'd already advised them of. I contacted this new attorney for my appointment, and he wasn't available for the appointment they set up, so he had to call me back. Once he did, he was extremely rude in going over my documentation. As I would attempt to explain things he asked about, he would cut me off, raise his voice, talk over me, and continuously interrupt me as I spoke. I had to repeatedly ask him to stop doing those things, and he continued to be very disrespectful throughout the entire call. Not once did he offer up any apologies. Instead, what he did was say, "I have another appointment, and I don't have time for this." I told him I don't care anything about your next appointment because you were late for this one. I've paid you to do your job, and I have this appointment, so until you're done with me, you can forget about your next appointment, sir. He continued on with his behavior, and the worst part about all of this is that this company states they're a "Christian" based company. The ONLY reason I'm giving them two stars is because of the OTHER people I came in contact with there and THEIR professionalism. Last, I'm not certain as to what's going on, but an entire third and different attorneys name is on my final documentation. I've never seen, experienced, nor dealt with anything like this in my life, and I pray that I never have to ever again. This had to be the worst experience in business I've ever had, hands down. Value or not, some things just aren't worth it when you must deal with unprofessional and rude OBNOXIOUS people like David Cassidy.
