We decided to jump on the bandwagon and try Slapfish tonight. We went in around 6:45pm and the place was busy. It took a little bit to make it up to the ordering counter which wasn't an issue....it after you order that you may run into a problem- SEATING. People that come with more in with more than one person will split up. One will do the ordering and the other saves a table. This causes such a back log of people waiting for a table that didn't grab a table from the get go. The other issue that I noticed it space. There isn't much room for people to stand that are waiting for a table to become available. **Side note: there is a kids menu available but we were not made aware of this until we were up at the counter placing our order which can slow down the line. As far as the food goes my husband got the Lobster Grinder and Lobster Taquitos. He liked both but the Grinder did have a little bit of a spicy bite to it. I love spicy food, he on the other hand does not. The kids menu covers the basics which makes it easy for the mini's to decide. Our kids loved the chicken tenders and the fish bites. Will we be back---not right away but I'm glad that we had the experience. The place is super snazzy, we loved the look. Downside we smelt like grease all night. read more

Went here yesterday for lunch with my brother. They had a wide variety of unique dishes to offer. I ordered the fish tacos and was pleasantly surprised to be given one big taco full of fish and other things. My brother got the sandwich they offered and he said it was also full of flavor. I think this place definitely has potential to be GREAT...it just needs time. I'm thinking the downfalls are simply because they just opened. I went today for lunch and got just the classic lobster roll. Good meat to bread ratio. The awesome sauce was, awesome. The craft sodas are delicious and a great touch!! However, my bread was cold, and we all know when you toast bread and let it sit out for a bit it can get very hard. That's how mine was. I also bit into about four shell pieces in my sandwich :( flavors were good though. The fries that came on the side of my roll were soggy as well. Next time, if there is one, I think I'll get the chips. The chowder fries were probably my favorite. Not sure I would get the lobster roll again. We visited Maine last year and basically ate our way from lobster shack to shack in search of the best lobster rolls. The Slapfish lobster rolls taste every bit as good as anything we had in New England. You swap out the picturesque lighthouse and Maine coastline in the background with the busy I-15 freeway, but otherwise the lobster rolls taste every bit as good as authentic Maine lobster rolls. The market price for the lobster rolls might seem a bit pricey to some folks, but you seriously have to try it at least once. You won't regret it! There are also plenty of other more affordable dishes just as delicious that you have to try. We had the Clobster Grilled Cheese which may have tasted even better than the lobster roll. Add a side of Chowder Fries and I dare you to find someone that wouldn't love that dish. Grilled cheese, fries, chowder sauce, bacon, crab and shrimp. Even my picky kid eats all that stuff!! I have also had the Ultimate Fish Taco which tastes great but took me a minute to plan my attack how I would even hold the darn thing. It's a huge slab of fish (you choose what fish from the fish menu). We added a side of Housemade Pickles (pretty good) and some Lobster Toquitos (incredible!). The restaurant surprisingly doesn't smell fishy for being a seafood place. It has a fun, modern vibe with wood pallet walls and modern decor and lighting. It basically feels like a modern seafood shack so I'd say they nailed their restaurant tagline. Service was surprisingly quick considering the line of people. does anyone else find slapfish a little overrated? or is it just me? i've been here about three times since it opened last year, and it was weird because the first time i tried it with my sister in law, everything was great! i remember getting the clam chowder fries and the lobster roll and something else to share, and i was so excited to have my husband try it since he loves seafood, but when we finally got to go a few weeks later, it was awful! the clam chowder fries tasted nothing like they did the first time, and the lobster grilled cheese i had was not good either. it took us over a year to go back again, we went just a few weeks ago, and although we both liked it more this time, i really didn't find it too special. it's so weird too because anytime i ever see a pic of the food here, it looks SO GOOD. on my most recent visit i ordered something that was even recommended on the utah grub's page, the lobster burger wrapped in lettuce instead of its regular bun. the picture she posted was amazing, but what i had was just alright- not worth the $16 i paid for it. the basket of fries was incredibly skimpy as well compared the amount of fries my husband had with his fish and chips (which he did like). i don't know if we'll ever go back, because frankly i just don't think it's worth the money! read more

Forst impression was great..very clean modern setting easy to read menu. I ordered the surf and turf. Which is a burger with lobster. It was okay I did get full but I think i tasted more of the burger patty than lobster. I would recommend the fish and chips. It was a good portion...and fried to perfection. I had a little bit off of my cousins plate. Also i had tasted my sisters shrimp po boy sandwich which was also a hit. Great place great food with great people. Of course it was a little pricey due to it being a seafood sandwich spot but definitely worth it. About $15 a meal not including drink. As we walked up to the front door, I believe we ran into one of the owners. He was very pleasant asking how we heard about them and proceeded to open the door for us and tell us to enjoy, great trust impression! My husband ordered the fish taco, I ordered the traditional lobster roll and we ordered clam chowder to share. As a couple others mentioned I've had lobster rolls both west & east coast including Boston and that roll was delicious!! You can't go wrong trying it at least once. We are both clam chowder advocates, found it to be good but inconsistent. The first couple bites were thick and the second half turned really thin and runny. It would be nice to make the bacon optional, although I did enjoy it cause it data little extra flavor. The fish taco was tasty; however, my husband had a challenging time trying to eat it like a taco cause it was so large. Next time he'll try the street tacos. As we were finishing up, we were ask about the meals by their friendly staff members, love the customer experience & service. It's really exciting that Lehi got a casual seafood place that is so delicious! I grew up eating seafood in Maryland and this place really brings me back. The lobster roll is one of my favorite menu items here. The toast bun is buttery and crispy, and the lobster inside tastes very fresh. The lobster grinder is very similar but contains lobster, crab, and shrimp instead of just lobster. The restaurant has a variety of seasonings and condiments available for everyone to use. I'd recommend malt vinegar for fries and Old Bay on everything else! The prices are a little hefty for a casual restaurant, but the quality of seafood is worth it. It's nice being able to grab seafood at a casual restaurant, as there are not many places like this around. read more

I am not a seafood person and never go out of my way for any. About a year ago I met up with a friend that wanted to go to Slapfish. I figured I would let them have what they wanted and I would just get some fries and a drink. Once there, the person taking my order talked me into trying their fish and chips. On occasion I will eat fish and chips, but it's pretty rare. I ate what they offered and I actually really liked it. Since then I go in about once a month because, well, I like their fish and chips. The last time in the person taking the order recommended the Ultimate Fish Taco. It had everything I liked so I thought, why not? Holy cow! This taco is more than I can handle. If you get one, that is enough. It was quite a tasty meal. Their fries are really good too. I have been to all their locations but frequent the Lehi store most. It is very clean inside and the people that work their are really nice. Just give it a try. It really is worth it. read more

If you are in the mood and have the money, Slapfish is an amazing option for upscale fast food. Be prepared to spend around $20, but be prepared to have your taste buds' socks knocked off. I split a surf an turf burger and grilled cheese sandwich with a friend and I could not be happier. They were both amazing. Everything screamed "authentic." Even down to the pickle spear and fry sauce, I felt like I was being catered to by a Boston native. This particular location (not sure about the others) has a great variety of sodas and low-calorie flavored drinks that are sure to satisfy. Food poisoning from bad lobster roll. I came in on a Wednesday around 3pm ordered poke chips, cold lobster roll and drink. When roll came i noticed a slight strange smell. I took two bites and decided it smelled bad and its might be bad. I asked staff member to take a smell and inquired what she thought. She did then went back to kitchen to discuss with staff. She came back after about 10 min and said yes it appears the batch was indeed spoiled. She apologized and asked if i wanted a new one. The other batches in refrigerator were good she assured me. I declined as my stomach was not feeling a second chance with the lobster. She asked if i wanted something else. Again I declined. She said okay and didnt offer to refund. I initiated the request for refund. She said yes but can i just give you cash so that I don't have to refund your entire meal then re-charge you for the Poke' chips and your drink. I agreed as I had consumed the chips however, it seems silly that you would have served me food that is potentially going to cause me to be sick and not be willing to just refund my entire meal. Th The funny part is when she brought me cash for the sandwich. She gave me $27 so my tax wasn't refunded. It seems like a small thing but again I spent the the next several hours later, and into the evening with food poisoning and her response to me eating after the spoiled food was well at least you didn't eat the whole sandwich. I love the new look of the restaurant, however, it does appear that your staff is in desperate need of customer service training, as well as food safety training. Your restaurant used to be a frequent stop for my family and myself. As much as I miss the taquitos already this experience has changed my view. Please do better. read more

I love Slapfish, the poke bowl is a favorite of mine. I do think they put too much old bay seasoning on the chips and fries there, like an overkill, but all Slapfish locations do it. We went 10 minutes before closing one time and you could tell the employees weren't happy, I get it you want to clean up and go home, but with everything closing early due to Covid I'm guessing, get over it. Finally got around to trying Slapfish & really liked it! The fried fish fillets were so light & crispy... yumm-o! I wasn't crazy about the bbq sauce seasoning on the fries, but that's just me. WAY WAY overpriced for the quantity and quality of food. The price we paid for two lunches we could have gone to Red Lobster. They only offered their brand of soda or coke and Diet Coke . Taste...not the best and not the worst I've eaten. Certainly had better for the price I paid.... (originally gave them only 2 stars). I am adding two stars as the owner/manager reached out and offered excellent customer service. I appreciated he requested I give them another chance and discussed their goals to offer good service and quality food. This type of customer service goes a long way with me. Bravo! read more

Absolutely delicious! Loved the atmosphere and menu options for this place. They have catch of the day specials, so not certain how often they switch up the menu. I tried a salmon salad. It was super filling with an amazing citrus vinaigrette dressing. The only downside to this place is it is a lil pricey. Still worth checking it out though! read more

I'd love to try more from the menu here, but I can't bring myself to stray from that delicious ultimate fish taco. Seriously, it's that good. One is really enough for one and a half people but you won't want to give away one bite. Their fish is always fresh and yummy, none of that frozen fish flavor. I also love the fries (dry with awesome sauce on the side) and bonus points, they have Pellegrino! So yeah, if you're tired of the same old same old, you gotta try this place. Oh word of caution... Don't wear a white shirt, this is a messy meal and if you're on a date, it better not be the first, second, or third. I went on a Wednesday night (6:30p) and the store was busy but not packed like other reviewers mentioned. It was clean and the young staff was very pleasant and helpful. We had a clean table to sit at and only waited about 5 minutes or less for our food to be delivered. (Definitely faster than restaurants like Cafe Rio). This was my first lobster roll, but I went with my sister who has had some of the best on the east coast. We both loved it. The bread was crisp and buttery, although smaller than she's had other places for the price. It was packed full of lobster and the seasoning and sauce were delicious. We also had the fried pickles, which were good but have a lot of breading on them; and the chowder fries. Those were large and delicious (if eaten quickly). Overall, it was tasty and I'd go again, but it's not cheap. read more
