They quoted a glass replacement and it was not correct and in the end it would have cost me double. I feel that I received a run around and they did not accept that they were wrong and made a mistake. I did finally get a full credit for my deposit. I am now back at the start in having my glass replaced. The biggest problem is that I never received communication through this whole process. read more

Booked an appointment for a no obligation on-site estimate, good phone communication for appointment time, confirmation and follow-up questions. We are a one hour drive from Boulder so, all the above makes a difference. They installed the custom glass door within two weeks of our accepting the bid. The estimator recognized a slope to the bottom section of tile and recommended a little piece to prevent water from flowing on to the main bath floor. This detail won the business. I have used Slade Glass a few times spread out over several decades. The first time, on the recommendation of a friend, long before Yelp existed, was in the early 80s to replace a very old shower door that had come with our 50s era fixer house. Some years later, I believe they replaced a window pane for us, though I do not remember those details. At one point after that I went in to price some custom glass shelving for a DIY project and discovered that I really could not afford it and it was rather optional for the house, so I did not do it at that time. Fast forward to this summer when I redesigned the potential shelving project in a better way, went in with measurements and looked at options to do it. The quote was doable for me now for a variety of reasons. And Slade Glass is still in business after all these years and every staff person I worked with was so incredibly helpful. They asked all the right questions for my use, explained various options for finishes etc. I picked up the glass recently, was very pleased with the final product and would certainly use them again should I have a need for any similar glass products. read more

Had a couple of great experiences with Slade recently. We have a commercial window on our house, and it was hard to track down a vendor to make repairs. Eric came out and knew exactly the type of window frame and how to fix it. With Charles, they fixed a damaged aluminum bar, and then came back to repair the vinyl weather stripping that had come loose over the years. They even went the extra mile to add some new weep holes, and tighten up some sagging items with new screws. Thanks guys. read more

Terrible customer experience. When I first called to get an estimate on a bathroom mirror (mirror + installation), I was given one price. Then, after someone came out to my house to measure, I was given a completely different price at $100+ more (even though measurements had not changed). This, I was told was because the new price included a $50 charge to come out and measure. What?! No one told me about that charge or that it was mandatory when I first called. The other "extra" amounts were because of the estimated installation (1.5 hours for two guys). The guys that came and installed the mirror were great (thankfully), and it was done in 30 minutes (total). When I called the shop back to see if my cost would be adjusted (I had only paid half so far), they did credit me back some $ only after telling me that they have a 1 hr minimum charge. Terrible communication...how about telling the customer UP FRONT that a) you charge $50 for in-home measurements, and b) you have a 1 hour minimum installation fee. I rarely write bad reviews, but this experience was very frustrating and working with the women in the shop, on the phone, was painful. read more

Took 2 weeks to come measure. Measurement tech was friendly and professional. Slade Glass policy is to measure and send estimate in 2 business days. No estimate in 3 business days so I called. Lady who answered phone kept telling me the difference between business and calendar days which I understood beforehand. When I mentioned that it was taking weeks she again explained the difference between business and calendar days. Total time for appointments estimated to be 6 weeks. When I said that was a month and a half she again explained the difference between business and calendar days. Very rude and unprofessional. The whole conversation was argumentative. I called another glass company and they are going to come replace the glass in 1 week. read more

I agree with some of the other comments, that Slade is a bit slow and not the best with follow up. We had a couple of bad hinges, and their man came on May 4, and said that it would take a few days to get an estimate. Finally, after we called, they got back to us about 10 days later with an estimate, and told us that it would take a while to get the hinges. The good news is that today, the installer, Luis, came to replace the bad hinges. He fixed the first window by removing the seal, and was a bit apologetic that he didn't really have to replace the hinge. The second hinge was badly broken, and he fixed that quickly, despite some problems getting to it. Luis is awesome! read more

Slade Glass - Windows Installation Near Me - Boulder, Colorado

I procrastinated getting glass made for my dresser top since it has a curved mirror attached and a curved front. I made a pattern as well as I could, and also for the matching night stand. The glass did not fit on the dresser..because the space for the mirror hadnt been cut wide enough. Slade came to my house to examine things, and took the glass with them to fix for NO extra cost. When I got the glass back it fit, but was seriously just a 1/4" off. When I moved and had to transport it anyway, I dropped it off to have it adjusted one last time... again for no extra cost. It was such a tricky project..hence WHY I procrastinated. . Now it fits PERFECTLY.. protecting a piece Ill have my whole life. I also had a table top piece made for the breakfast nook and just had a piece made for the front entry table where everyone puts their wet water bottles/throws their keys. I got a quote for this piece from another glass co that was over double the price. UPDATE; I had a very large piece of glass cut for the formal dining room and matching side bar. I was given a pattern with different shaped curved edges and was told to match the rounded corners of the tables. I did my best and was very worried...it turned out perfectly though! What a pain to have to measure, order, rent a truck to pick up, but now I have beautifully displayed furniture that I never have to cover with a cloth to protect! I even got up-sold on the darker "mocha" shaded glass. It is so beautiful. read more

I called in couple weeks ago to get information on glass for my cabinets. Bianca answered the phone and she could not have been less helpful. I attempted to get information on style of glass and price, and the only information I could get was that it "varies" and to come in to look at samples. I decided to go I since apparently giving information over the phone was not going to happen. I walked into the showroom and I was not greeted at the door, I walked to the counter and asked the young lady who was seated at the front desk if she was bianca, and she said "yes" (that was it!!!!) I was really put off at the fact that she was visibly on her phone and she did not even say hello to me when I came into the door. I told her I was looking for cabinet glass and her only rebuttal was "all the samples are right there" I really felt like I was bothering her!! As I looked through the samples, I noticed she was back to looking at her phone. She did not get up to engage me or help me find something I liked. I left and I will not be back. I have never written a review for any company before but the experience I had here left me dwelling on the lack of customer service at this company. Beautiful install of a custom shower glass. The materials are of very high quality and the installers are excellent at what they do.

I came into Slade glass with dimensions for a table top. Very simple piece of clear piece of glass with softened edges. When I ordered it Tina said it would take 7-10 business days. Two full weeks elapsed and I still had not heard anything. I called in and spoke to Tina, she said she would call the supplier and call me back with a status. She never called me back, I called again and got the same reply. The next time I called in, she said my glass had came in, but at the wrong dimensions. She said she would re-order and rush it for the soonest possible delivery. Another week passed and I hadn't heard anything, I called in again and she said the glass had been delivered but had been broken in the shop. At this point it had been 8 weeks since my initial order and I got so sick of calling Tina to find out the status on my glass, I went to another shop and was able to get my glass within a week. Several months have passed and I have never received a call back from Tina. I will not be using Slade glass for any future projects. read more

Slade has replaced many original glass window panes in my home due to faulty seals. It happens...Slade also installed a glass shower enclosure with transom and door handle for me about 5 years ago. The handle began to peel. Not a common occurrence and we are all left to wonder why. Slade reached out to the manufacture with no response but didn't hesitate to order a replacement for me at their expense. Great customer service! Slade's price was competitive or better than most of the others we got bids from and their installers we very knowledgeable, professional appearance and really "neat" on the job. I ordered two pieces of glass and was told they would be ready about a week later after two weeks I had to call them and they said my order would be ready tomorrow for such a simple order an extra week is too long ...also I requested a quote for some tempered glass and their quote was three times the cost of another vendor..I don't know how such a huge cost difference could be possible. read more

We used Slade Glass for a bathroom slider door. The door was built by American Shower Door out of LA. Everything was fine until a small part broke about 2 months after the install. I called Jennifer at Slade to ask about a warranty, or service for the problem. She told me that there was no warranty on the door, and that they could not (would not) help me.....Not too good for a $1600 shower door. So I called American Shower Door. When I described the problem/broken part, they were all over getting it fixed. They sent me the part about a week later, and everything was good. So...American Shower Door: Top notch. I called Slade in November last year to schedule a repair to my glass shower door. It was off level and rubbing on the bottom. Not a problem, they took my name and address, and said that they could come out in 3-4 days to fix it. Well, the holidays happened, so I called back this morning to set it up firm. Not so easy this time. Because, according to the phone person, Slade "isn't getting paid", I needed to give them my credit card number to charge the $160 service call, and I understood it to be ahead of time. Okay, I own my home and I pay my bills. I don't expect to be charged for a repair that they haven't even seen yet. I had a small project - I needed two small 18" X 11" glass tabletop protectors. They quoted me $33 for the job that Toledo glass quoted me $108 for. Exactly the same glass and size. Two friendly, smiling young ladies - Cortland and Erin - took my order. They told me to expect 4 days for them to complete my order. Yet they called me later that day and told me it was ready to pick up. Great! When I went down to pick up my order - I noticed a small problem however. I explained my problem to Cortland, Danielle and Chris. They immediately saw the problem - and with no argument - worked quickly to get it fixed for me. I am 100% satisfied. Terrible service. It took them two weeks to even come out and measure. After that we agreed on a time frame for today ( a week or two later) 8:30-9:30 but they ended up canceling later that day. Very frustrating as we are leaving for vacation and was promised that today it could be fixed. Not only did they not show up but did not call either until I had to 8 hours later to ask if they were coming. I do not recommend slade whatsoever. read more
