Eric showed up that same day, did an initial diagnosis of the problem, and then was able to fix the leak properly, with minimal expense, just two days later. We were so impressed with his work that we even gave him a nice sized tip. We are very happy with the look of our new fireplace and will be calling Salazar Contracting for any remodeling or handyman projects in the future. Thanks again Armando! Youssef and all of his subs are *FANTASTIC* and the best I have ever worked with (and I've worked…read morewith many). Here why (with details below): He OWNS the work and takes full responsibility for everything and fixes every mishap BEFORE you even ask; His primary subs (carpentry, electrical, flooring, trim) are all GREAT; he's one of the easiest, kindest, and most compassionate people I've worked with; and he knew when to tell me when an idea or suggestion I had was infeasible or too expensive. More deets: On OWNERSHIP and RESPONSIBILITY - Our shower glass walls were a little short. I didn't even know enough to know this was a solvable problem, but he made the third-party glass company take the segments back and replace them with segments that fit even more perfectly and beautifully. There we a couple of other instance and there was never accountability squirm.... Honestly that's unlike 95% of contractors. ADVICE - If the lighting wasn't going to work or look nice, he told you. If the switches we're in the wrong place in the blueprint, he told you. If a door or opening would have been better served with a pocket door instead of a swinging door, like into a bedroom closet, he told you. He told you nicely, politely, never insinuating that I did not know what I was doing or that the architect was bad or wrong. He'd just politely and slowly walk me through a few different scenarios and the real life placement of things and was 100% right in all of his corrective suggestions. The one time I did not listen to him and thought I knew better, after a few months I realized I was completely wrong. MAIN SUBS - Whenever his subs were scheduled to show up, they did, on time, always clean-cut and professional, smiling, and happy. They cleaned up EVERY DAY. Other previous contractors thought nothing of leaving trash on the floor or even dangerous nails when I had small children in the house. I think he is one of, if not, the BEST IN THE BUSINESS and I plan on doing more with him in the future.

Very frustrating experience. I would not use this contractor again…read more I signed a contract for a repair job for about $1,350. After the contract was already signed, the contractor returned with a subcontractor, looked at the house again, and then sent a new estimate for roughly $1,300 more, nearly doubling the original price. Because the price changed so much after the agreement, I decided not to move forward. No actual repair work was done on the house, but I was still charged $300 to cancel the contract after what was basically a short walkthrough visit. I understand that construction projects can uncover additional issues, but I did not expect the cost to increase that much after signing, and I definitely did not expect to be charged a cancellation fee when no work had been performed. In my opinion, the process felt very one-sided and not customer friendly. I recommend that anyone considering this company read the contract very carefully, especially the cancellation terms and how change orders are handled, before signing anything.
