Roy is the absolute best. He is warm, personable, friendly, accommodating, professional, punctual, just...everything you could want in a taping studio owner. You really do become FRIENDS with him, and his staff. Speaking of his staff, everyone Roy hires...to be quite frank, is just like him. They're all so great. Seriously, I hope Skytown stays in this cool, funky location forever, but if they don't, I will follow him wherever they go. As mentioned, the service is EXCELLENT. Truly exceptional. They use skilled readers to tape and run lines with you, and will do as many takes as you need until you feel you'd nailed it. They'll give you constructive feedback and help too, to make sure you really do your best work! They'll then color correct all your final takes and slate, and make sure the audio is perfect. They ALWAYS find a way to squeeze you in, as they fully understand that auditions come in at all times, and usually just a day or so before the deadline. They'll also make sure to send the takes as downloadable files to you, your agent/manager, etc. The turn around time for your tapes is like 20 minutes? An hour? EVERYONE who works here is extremely friendly, personable, and accommodating. I just love them all. Seriously. AND CARLYYYYYYY!!!! The DOGGGGGGG. I LOVE HERRRRR SO MUCHHHH. She is the most chill, relaxed, adorable gray version of Lassie ever. (Let me put some respect on Carly's name - I think she's an Australian shepherd. She's a rescue - they got her from North Shore Animal League!) read more

I cannot say enough nice things about Roy and the team at SkyTown NYC! Roy came in an hour before opening to tape with me due to my need to get the tape out before a rehearsal. And his demeanor and passion for helping you achieve your best performance has helped me to make two wonderful tapes so far. They also now offer WEEKEND self-taping which comes in handy when you get the call from your agent Friday night to make a tape due Monday morning. I also appreciate that they have a blue backdrop AND a white backdrop so that they compliment different shirt choices. Roy is the nicest guy, spot in with his assistance, and truly professional. read more

I love this place! The friendliest staff, extremely accommodating for last minute self-tapes, really cute studio space, excellent equipment, excellent readers. FIVE STARS. Skytown is amazing, efficient, friendly, fast, professional, their lighting is GORGEOUS and they have saved my butt too many times to count with last-minute auditions. I have worked with Roy and Andrew (both trained actors) the most and I adore them. They have a clean, safe, comfortable environment and I have recommended them to so many of my other actor friends (and those friends have thanked me and now go to them all the time as well - which speaks for itself.) The last thing I want is to be on-edge/nervous when I put an audition on tape, and they have made the process such an ease for me, they read with you, you get a half or full hour session to make sure you get the right take, and I could not recommend them more. You get your audition sent to you, your manager, your agent, whomever pronto. SO grateful for all their help each and every time. So yes, 100%, Go to Skytown!!! read more

The best taping experience you can get! SkyTown was very accommodating to my near deadline and I'm so proud of the final tape. It is such a comfortable, safe space to work in and Roy was so dedicated to getting me to do my best. I haven't done that many self-tapes and Roy was so patient and encouraging, and I really left feeling like I'd just had a one-on-one coaching session with an industry professional. And on top of all that, the tape looks incredible! I'd highly recommend SkyTown for any of your self taping needs! read more

Skytown Entertainment is beyond amazing. If I could give 10 stars, I would. Roy is so accommodating and their facilities are top notch. I called at 9:30am with a same day 3pm deadline for a series reg audition for a network pilot. They were fully booked for the morning. After some maneuvering, Roy somehow magically squeezed me in for a 10:30 appointment that morning! Soon as I got to the studio, I was warmly welcomed by Phil who guided me towards Roy who is an actors dream to work with. I was able to take my time as Roy was very patient with me and assured me we would get what we needed. He let me do as many takes as I needed and was a wonderful reader giving me so much to work off of through every single take. Casting gave me very specific instructions for how they wanted each take, and Roy made sure they met the CD's requirements. We watched them together and readjusted lighting/position so that we could really get the perfect takes. The turnaround was lightning fast. I received my beautifully edited files in 90 minutes; I was able to get my tape to casting two hours before my deadline! I've been an actor for 10 years and have put myself on tapes for more auditions than I can count in both NY and LA. Skytown is BY FAR the best taping facility I have ever used and I will only use them moving forward. Roy, if you get a chance to read this, Thank You! read more

I had an amazing experience! They were so accommodating and flexible, tailored the session to fit my needs, without rushing me out of the door, worked with me on my audition until I was happy with the final result. And on top of it, the result was a high quality video! I definitely recommend all NYC actors to use this place when they need to put themselves on tape! The best in NYC! read more

SkyTown has exceeded my wildest expectations with the self-taping/audition process. Not only are they flexible for short-notice and urgent needs, they are able to get the most out of the performer. They are professional yet economical, and we enjoy working with them and have secured many more callbacks when using their studio vs others. Can't recommend them any higher! read more

Phil and Roy make taping your auditions so easy, so you can focus on the work.

Roy, Michael, and Phil are absolute gems. I had a very quick turn around on a video audition, and they graciously accommodated my early morning deadline. I worked with Roy, who is not only a great actor but an insightful sounding board for acting choices. His detail-oriented, enthusiastic, attentive approach to the process put me right at ease, and his concern for the professionalism and timeliness of my submission impressed the hell out of me. I'll be recommending Skytown to my acting community and will certainly be back for my next self-tape. Highly recommended! read more

I've been to Skytown twice. The first time was early last year for a self tape audition. All went well. My second visit was to have my demo reel made up. Phil took care of everything. I had three clips that I wanted to use. Phil suggested that I put it in a particular order. I thought I knew it all and selected a different order. When it was done...well, Phil was right, lol. In a few short minutes, he'd switched the order around and I was giddy as a mug at how well my demo reel came out. They're always friendly, professional, welcoming, etc. Their prices are very starving artist friendly, too! read more

Roy did an amazing job. He was kind enough to squeeze me in after hours for last-minute self-tape. Not only is he skillful and knowledgeable about the industry, he also genuinely cares about you and your audition. He was very generous with his time and energy and the quality of his work was top notch. Highly recommended! read more

I have been going to them for a little over a year now, and each time I come out of the session feeling accomplished. That is because I feel well-listened to and partnered with to showcase my best. They are also meticulous about making sure that the tape is done on time and facilitate great communication to achieve that. I am glad I found them!! read more

Skytown Entertainment was excellent. I was visiting NY from LA on vacation and of course, Maika was awesome!

These guys do a great job, made getting myself on tape for an out of state show easy. Their prices are great, but I don't understand why it wouldn't be flat hourly rate instead of charging extra for doing a second audition in that hour. So it's $75 for the hour and in my hour I did two different sets of sides which was an extra $15. Think they should review that... BUT! Still worth using! read more

sky town and roy are amazing truly wonderful and professional in every way. roy will make you look good, the most patient person. thank you .. rutanya read more

These guys are the BOMB! I have found them to be incredibly willing to work with actors and our crazy schedules for self taping. They are kind and very aware of whatever might make you feel comfortable. It's a low stress environment, but don't let that think that the work is not top notch. They work with you to pick the take you like, edit and prep a link, very quickly, and with great results. I have worked with them a half dozen times, and always feel like they over deliver. Honestly, I love working with them, and am willing to travel a long distance to do so. If you need to put yourself on tape and want a great place to go-- call them! You won't be disappointed! read more

Skytown is a must in any busy actors' phone book. read more

Roy and Phil are gems. I am so lucky I found this place (after moving from LA and working with thousands of self taping companies)! I really just went with how recommended they are via YELP and I see why. These guys are prompt in responding emails, and do their best to get me in every time (even same day appts). The space is comfortable, clean and quiet. They are very professional and work quick. AND the turnover is even quicker! Not to mention the price is fair for the EXCELLENT QUALITY OF MY TAPES. I have 0 complaints. I have even another plus: these guys are great readers and have even helped me specify my choices ---when I ask---because they know what they're doing and what casting is looking for.
