I came in dressed casually -- sweatpants, a loose T-shirt, an old cap, and worn shoes. Neither employee greeted me when I entered. After waiting a moment, I approached one of them. She stayed seated the entire time, didn't smile, didn't offer me a seat, and answered every question with a flat "no." As I was walking out, another customer walked in -- better dressed than me -- and suddenly the other employee jumped up right away to greet and assist her. What they didn't realize is that I was essentially mystery shopping. My appearance shouldn't determine the level of service I receive. Unfortunately, it felt like it did here.
