I have been a customer/patient of Skypark Physical Therapy for over 13 months now. What a gift!!! What initially started out as a holiday "gift card" from a friend to visit Chris Koyanagi and investigate what was thought to be a sports-related knee injury, has resulted in a total body transformation: physical healing, deep muscle repair and scar tissue restoration, non-surgical rotator cuff, shoulder and upper back rebuild, plantar correction, gate and mobility and hip balancing. I thought I was just another aging weekend warrior and severe aches and pain and stiffness were the inevitable and accepted consequences of an otherwise attempt at an intermittent healthy and active lifestyle. No surgery, no pills, 100% effective. Sometimes painful massage, (I won't lie), but the results are incredible. The entire staff is friendly, knowledgeable, conscientious, and committed. Facilities, rooms, tables and gear are clean and highly effective. State of the art mitochondrial laser light therapy is amazing! I have now referred nearly a dozen friends here, and they each can't thank me enough. read more

Megan Murray, DPT has been treating my knee for just one week. She taped my patella medially and like magic, 6 months of knee pain was gone. Such a brilliant doctor. She also happens to be very professional and empathetic. The staff are all kind and capable. I give Skypark Physical Therapy a 5 star rating. John Genter, MD read more

This therapy clinic and staff are GREAT! I was referred here to try to help with long term leg and spine issues from a herniated disc in my lower spine. I had previously had physical therapy, multiple chiropractors over the years, and acupuncture. Nothing seemed to help relieve the numbness and atrophy. The owner Chris evaluated me and was honest and up front that there was some serious problems but he would try to work out the spinal muscles and get some greater mobility to the pelvic structure, the nerve pathway, and lower spine. I will be honest the treatments are painful and grinding, BUT, there has been improvement that I didn't think after so many years was possible. I Can now jog again with minimal fatigue, my limping has nearly gone away, and there are signs of strength returning to my leg, albeit slow. Chris also gave me exercises and recommendations on how to assist myself at home with keeping the spine flexible and returning to activities such as swimming and Jiu Jitsu to keep movement and prevent longer term damage from occurring. Chris is super knowledgeable about the anatomy and diagnosis of certain hidden issues that can affect spinal and muscle health. His honesty and knowledge have gained my utmost respect and admiration. If you need therapy work with Chris and his staff. Skypark Physical Therapy is a blessing! read more

This is literally the BEST physical therapy in the South Bay! I went there because of the reviews on Yelp and I definitely don't regret! All PTs are awesome and they know what they are doing. Everyone is kind and excellent professionals. I definitely recommend this place! read more

I asked a lot of friends for their recommendations when I needed PT for lower back issues. I am so glad I took the advice of my Small Group Exercise trainer and went to Skypark! Highly recommend them! They know their stuff, are friendly and efficient and get right to the business of diagnosing, healing, and most importantly teaching and providing exercises and better practices to avoid the problem in the future. Everyone there is excellent at what they do, but I'll give my shoutout to Sue! Thank you, Sue!!! You put me on the road to recovery! read more

So today I saw Chris, and let me say I was blown away. I came in specifically to see him based off a recommendation from a friend and he was absolutely fantastic! I am an avid rock climber and am pretty much constantly bouncing off from one injury to another but this time the injury was not getting worse. He quickly identified what the problems could be and the specific treatment options for my injury. Then as he worked his magic massaging my arm, he went over various forms of treatment that we could do together and that I could do as homework to not only make the injury go away, but to make me a stronger climber. After he massage he showed me new and interesting exercises and stretches to do to keep my strength up during this healing process, which is great because I'm a bit of a fitness junkie and get restless when I cannot exercise. I would definitely recommend this therapist to anyone, especially if you are a climber because this guy really knows the specific needs of the sport. That and he can take seemingly simple exercises and show you the lapses in your strength. I also loved how he did not try to push products on me and actually told me to get them from Amazon because I could get them cheaper there. Fantastic guy and an absolutely fantastic experience! read more

If you are an athlete needing physical therapy in the south bay this is the place to go! I tried several places that advertise for sports but this is the only place I found in the south bay that truly is for someone athletic. Chris is the best and very knowledgeable. I have had both neck and back surgery and he has gotten me back to the sand volleyball courts! Everyone there is great! Highly recommended! read more

Chris and Velma changed my life. I have been recovering from a worker's comp back injury. From day one, Chris showed me a technique that significantly relieved pain while sitting. Both Chris and Velma are motivating, caring, and professional. I can't say it always felt good, but I always walk out feeling healthier. Chris knows the the human anatomy like no one I've ever run across. He can watch the way I walk, or touch muscles and know what's happening and how to stretch, relieve or prescribe exercise. If you're a whiner and have no interesting in being stronger, better, and pain free, then you might as go to a $30 massage place and be done with it. Skypark Physical Therapy offers results, strength, and health. This doesn't happen by sitting on your butt. You get what you put into it. If you can't get strong and fit with Chris and Velma working with you, its because YOU aren't doing the work. I wish I could add more stars. read more

Chris has solved many of my "mystery" problems that no other doctor or therapist can seem to figure out. I have chronically sore elbows from working on computers and rock climbing. My pain gets so bad that I'm forced to take days off from work and my hobbies. After doing the exercises and stretches Chris recommended i've been able to get back to doing what I love. I trust him with my work, my passion, and my life. I highly recommend him to my friends, family, and you. read more

I was referred here back in the fall of 2012 and came once every week, then once every two weeks after 3 or 4 months. For the 6 and a half months I was there, Jeanne (hope I spelled that right) and Fernando were just amazing! I had to do a lot of new exercises to strengthen my muscles to help my knee pain and they made sure I did everything right to help me get back on the softball field for season. And can I say when I had Fernando, it felt like I was doing a legit workout, he kicked my butt every session. I didn't get to talk to a lot of the people but most of the physical therapist I talked to were really nice and friendly, a few were really funny too. the ladies in the front were just as nice! I really did like going here, and was actually sad when I was told I was well enough to not come back. read more

I have been a patient of Skypark Physical Therapy and Chris Koyanagi's for over 3 years for my unrelenting arthritis. The staff couldn't be anymore helpful and concerned about my physical therapy and concerns. I feel that I am in the perfect place to continue my progress to be able to walk and conduct my life with a minimal amount of pain as does my doctor. I am pleased to highly recommend Skypark Physical Therapy for your physical therapy needs. read more

About 2 years ago my right shoulder in the rotator cuff area became very painful, to the point where I could not raise my arm above my head. I saw an orthopedic doctor and after an examination followed by an MRI the recommendation was to try PT. The doctor recommended Skypark PT so I made an appointment. Chris began to work on me and after about 3-4 weeks I felt great. It was almost if nothing had ever happened to my shoulder. Approximately one year later the same issue popped up again but now on my left shoulder. Back to the doctor and then back to Chris. It took a little longer with this go around but the results were the same, meaning that the problem was completely resolved. I can only say that Chris is amazing and I highly recommend his practice. I find the staff very friendly, professional, and accommodating. read more

Skypark Physical Therapy is the best pt in our area. Their primary focus is what is best for the patient. I highly recommend them.

I've been coming to Megan on and off for a couple of years for my neck and shoulders and my visits are always great. Everyone here is kind and knowledgeable and Vilma is very helpful with explaining my exercises if needed. Very good would recommend. read more

Skypark Physical Therapy is AWESOME! I have been treated by Chris for three different issues (shoulder pain, knee pain, and scar tissue) and he has helped me immensely! If I reflect back on how much pain I was in or my limited range of motion at the first session and compare it to my last session there is night and day difference. Chris combines his technical expertise with a genuine caring attitude for your pain/problem. Although I haven't received treatment from the other physical therapists in the practice, I have no doubt they are excellent too. Vilma is very knowledgeable, friendly, and great at guiding you through your specific exercises making sure you do them properly. Everyone at Skypark PT is professional, friendly, and they all seem to genuinely like what they do. I really looked forward to all of my appointments because I knew I was going to receive the help I needed and it was going to be a pleasant experience. Lucy (front desk) is great helping with your insurance and scheduling appointments. I absolutely recommend Skypark PT to my family and friends! read more

Back in October of 2017 I shattered my right leg in a motorcycle accident. In December I started coming to Skypark two times a week for the last 8 months. So this review is as comprehensive as its going to get. This place is fantastic and everyone that works there from the front desk staff to the therapists and techs truly care about their patients and the work they do. When I came in for my evaluation and first session I couldn't walk and obviously had some very serious issues. Over the next 8 months I was challenged both physically and mentally, and given the best of care. I had the opportunity to work with every therapist there and I highly suggest that if you have to come for an extended period of time to mix it up as each therapist compliments the other exceptionally well. Megan, I saw the most simply because our schedules aligned more. She is extremely knowledgeable caring and pushes you when you need it and really pays attention and listens to what you are feeling, her work is focused and great pressure, and addresses multiple areas of concern. All of this is true for Chris, and Sue as well. Each with their own approach, pressure, and benefits. Chris is great when the work needs to be deep and focused, and as with the others, will push you when you need it most. Sue was just fantastic all the times I worked with her as well, challenging me with new exercises and helping me overcome my fears, as did they all. They have a great setup with plenty of machines, balls, bands, weights etc to keep you going, and the awesome physical therapy techs, Lilly and Velma rock! They will push you, make sure you're doing the exercises properly, and keep you in a good mood. They are always in high spirits and I can tell truly care about and enjoy what they do. They will also crack down on you if you are slacking! I'm happy to say I'm up and walking and exercising, and while I still have a ways left to go own my own I can't thank the staff here enough, and my progress has been tremendous. If you come with a motivated attitude and willing to put in the work you really can't go wrong with this fabulous team. They made a huge impact on my life and recovery and I'm eternally grateful. I cannot recommend their services highly enough! read more

This Physical Therapy office is great. I've been to others to compare. Everyone is so nice. I've been coming to them because of problems with my feet. I just had bone fusion on my foot and have plantar fasciitis. Megan is so kind and patient with me. Also Vilma always makes me work out and they both always make it nice for me and I actually enjoy coming each time. All the therapists here all get along and they make getting better fun. read more

I have been going here for a few weeks for a frozen shoulder. I had tried another PT and was seeing no relief or improvement until I came here. The gains I have made with the help of Chris, the owner, are incredible. I can now get my arm above my head and have been able to simply pull on a shirt without excruciating pain. The office has a fun lighthearted feel which is awesome and a welcome distraction from pain. I am sure that my recovery time is going to be less because of the awesome work Chris and his staff. I would highly recommend Skypark for physical therapy. read more

Had an appointment with Chris, the owner of this facility. They are very faithful to safety protocols as far as Covid is concerned and I was comfortable that I was in a good germ-free environment. As I need a lot of physical therapy it was difficult to go through the lockdown when no PT offices were able to be open. I was so happy when Skypark opened again as it had been so long since my last PT treatment. Chris runs a tight but friendly shop and his staff are all professional and knowledgeable. If you need PT and you're in the South Bay give them a try. You won't regret it. read more

I highly recommend Skypark Physical Therapy. I have been experiencing nagging back pain on and off for about a year, but after just a few sessions, my pain is pretty much gone. The therapy sessions are very helpful and I've been taught some great home exercises. If I do get pain, it's because I've been slacking on my exercises. Once I get back into my routine again, the pain disappears. I've only had 3 sessions and I'm confident with just a couple more, my pain will be even better controlled and I'll be able to "graduate" from therapy. read more

Before my first session here,I was very reluctant since I've never needed a physical therapist before. The great part about Skypark is how comfortable they make you feel BUT at the same time remain professional and knowledgable. Chris (the owner) and his staff are superb and eager to help you and support you to bring back to yourself again. If I ever need a PT again, I'll specifically request my doctor to refer me back here. read more

Chris and his team are excellent. I was referred to Skypark Physical Therapy by my orthopedist for treatment on a shoulder injury. While I am not yet healed up, Chris was absolutely wonderful throughout my treatment. The facilities are not the most modern, but easy to park, clean, and all the staff is very polite. Chris assessed my needs and tracked my progress diligently through about 6 months of treatment. He communicates well and ensures you understand the purpose of the exercises and other treatments. He is very cognizant of patient's needs and regularly sends progress reports to the doctor to ensure he isn't wasting valuable insurance-approved sessions. His assistant Velma is a sweetheart, always engaging the patients and making us laugh. I didn't come across a single fellow patient that didn't seem comfortable and hopeful in their treatments with Chris. I am due for surgery and will certainly be returning to see Chris once it's time for rehab and continued therapy. I cannot recommend this practice enough! Great sense of humor, bedside manner, and top-notch treatment all around. I've had a couple of hiccups with billing, but likely due to my slightly complicated/unusual insurance policy, but I wouldn't hold that against all the other wonderful things this office offers! read more

I just got off the with this Hellen person, she was rude and dismissive, she assume right away that I didn't have insurance, wouldn't give me any real information on what she needed from me, and then she said their not taking any new clients! Went here today as recommended by a friend, and I could not have been more pleased! It's so hard to find physical therapists that know about rock climbing injuries or strength training exercises and Chris was excellent help. I'm very glad I went and definitely suggest any climber to come see Chris! read more

Hurt more than help. Great people working there; but too busy to focus on patients. Obvious love triangle in office- even watched a push up contest with therapists and assistants. Worst part is that my injury suffered the most. My fav PT quote "man, your tense but I'm tired... Sorry it's lunch time". It wasn't even 10:30 am. Haha I hurt? Not my idea of comedy. More professional, less personal. Felt like a lab rat in a college lab. PT Chris is nice guy- but not nice enough. Receptionist is stellar- should trade jobs with PT assistants! read more

I have been a patient at nearly all PT offices in the Torrance area (over the past 14 years). It is without hesitation that I strongly recommend Chris and his crew. I came specifically to see Chris based on YELP reviews and I was not disappointed. Before you go anywhere else for any physical therapy needs, I highly advise that you seek out Chris. He is strongly professional and highly qualified and definitely has your best interests at heart. Also, his staff is amazing, friendly, and professional. Chris and crew are timely and you rarely suffer a wait (as I have previously experienced at other locations). I can't give a more highly-rated opinion of Skypark Physical Therapy for all your PT needs. I will never go anywhere else. read more

I went in because my collapsed shoulder was giving me severe headaches and tightness in my neck and shoulder. Sue was so helpful. She gave me massages and was careful not to have me do things that would further irritate my collapsed shoulder, which is something that other physical therapy places I've been to have unfortunately done. Everyone was so professional and nice, rom the people at the front office to the PT assistants. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

About a year after getting physical therapy for my heel at Skypark Physical Therapy, I was back with a new problem -- knee pain. I knew I would be in good hands (Chris Koyanagi's), and I was right. After 8 sessions, the improvement is remarkable, and Chris tells me it is likely to continue to improve as long as I kept up the stretches and exercises he and Vilma had shown me. I will, I will! I recommend Skypark to all my friends, and will keep doing so. I've had other physical therapists in the past, but none could hold a candle to this place. The atmosphere is friendly and caring, and the lighthearted joking and teasing among the staff and patients helps the time pass quickly (and eases the sometimes unavoidable pain that goes along with the healing process). If your doctor recommends physical therapy, insist on Skypark. They really are that good. read more

I have struggled with neck and back pain many years. My back pain became so unbearable that I finally proceeded with a Level 1 Laminectomy. I'm so glad I did. It has changed my life. My surgeon, Dr. Robert Watkins, is very particular about post surgical protocol. I chose Skypark Physical Therapy because I had been there before. It was good before but now it is amazing. Coincidentally, Chris, the new owner of Skypark Physical Therapy has attended the class offered by Dr. Watkins and has been trained to follow his protocol. Another one of my therapists has also taken the class. I have never felt better since starting therapy at Skypark Physical Therapy. I am always seen promptly and on time. Everyone there is so professional, nice and helpful. The office staff helped me make all my appointments to accommodate my very busy work schedule. I can't say enough about the whole experience at Skypark Physical Therapy, wonderful. I highly recommend them. I don't ever recommend anyone or anything unless I am very sure they are great. read more

I had tendonitis surgery and have great results from my PT here. The staff are great and flexible with my schedule!

Professional, Capable, Flexible, Personable, and Caring I used Sky Park Physical Therapy for two major problems - rehab from knee surgery, and rehab from hip surgery. Sue was my main therapist for both, and was very thorough and professional, giving careful attention and targeted massage that quickened pain relief and rehab. Sue always made herself available, constantly accommodating my somewhat unpredictable schedule. The equipment is in great shape, and I really appreciated access to a professional Pilates table. All exercises were reviewed and explained by Hilda or Velma, and they always did it with a smile and sense of humor, and made sure I was doing it right. Luz was excellent at taking care of billing and scheduling and answering my questions, Sue and Luz went above and beyond submitting multiple professional reports to ensure my often confused insurance company would agree to reimbursements, and when there was some trouble with a few items not being covered at the end, Chris the owner stepped up with great integrity and helped me take care of it no questions asked. All in all, a great experience, and I highly recommend Sky park Physical Therapy for outstanding therapists, great equipment and exemplary customer focus. read more
