It had comfy seats abound and the best bartenders in the entire resort! Leonardo was fantastic! Just like everywhere else in Playacar Palace, you could order any drink your heart desired. If you ask for tequila, they'll probably give you cheaper stuff like Jose Cuervo or some house brand. But if you say to them you want the Don Julio, 1800 or whatever other brand, they will gladly serve you that. They have a variety of seating from comfy couches that look like they are swings to single seating cushy chairs. It was hard for us to get together a big group for like 30 to sit but they didn't seem to mind us moving things around too much. Not only do they have the bar & all the seating but also a few pool tables on the side for game playing. The music ranged from good to great but they would also let us put on our own stuff which was very accomodating. It seemed that each night they had something going on - either a fire show, a circus, or a band. My group was not a fan when the band was playing because it was just SO loud, we couldn't talk at all. The band was great and if you just want to sit & chill out enjoying the music, it'll be great for you. But if you want to socialize, you may want to drink at another resort bar until they are done playing. I have to emphasize again how great the staff here is. Post a beach wedding, my group went here one night shoeless. Clumsy, slightly inebriated me stepped on a glass someone broke and my foot started gushing blood! The entire staff was fabulous about taking care of me, making sure all was okay and even the next day ensuring everything was fine. The sounds were a great background and compliment to the lounge and drinks. The service is prompt and friendly, and the woman serving us was happy to make conversation. The food menu looked enticing, but I was stuffed and just needed a digestif or two. Our cocktails were amazing and delicious, and yes, a little on the pricey side, but you're on vacation! They gave us a brief history of Mezcal and told us all about the different local ingredients they used. I think this place only opened a few months ago. It seemed like business may be a bit slow, but we drove by late at night a few days later and it was pretty crowded. The crowd was all tourists, European expats, etc... no locals... I'm sure that the flaws are masked by the pool lights once the sun sets. Our private party was at the far end of the club; a 10x14' pool flanked by patio furniture in one side and 5 private cabanas on the other. The cabanas were set up living room style with a sofa, coffee table and cabinets for personal belongings. The view from one of the casitas was oceanfront making a lovely backdrop for photos. The music was obnoxiously loud most of the time with pounding bass. Our crowd was celebrating the Grooms and they a great time. In our case, the grooms were running a tab- open bar and order from an extensive bar menu. FOOD: Well presented and the guests seemed to enjoy it.
