It's a waste of money because if I needed to dry my clothes for just another 5 mins or so, I would have to put in at least $2 for 30 min. The rest of the 25 min, which I paid for, would just be wasted. It's either that or I would have to settle for damp clothes. I really wish they would change it so you can dry your clothes by the quarter.

By the time I needed to use the bathroom, rather urgently since I'm pregnant, it was too late to pack up and leave. Clothes were locked up for the next 20 minutes. For $3.75. In the tiniest washer I'd ever seen. On $1 off Wednesday. But I digress. Despite being turned to vacant, the bathroom will not open. At this point I was barked at by the owner that bathrooms for only for customers. When I explained that I am indeed a customer, he led me to an iPad affixed to the wall, where I was led through a long, pointless, and buggy questionnaire to confirm the veracity of my claim, presumably while my womb filled with excess urine. "the bathroom door will be unlocked for 10 seconds" proclaims the screen, as I waddle as quickly as I can to the door, 8 feet away and around the sink, which was filled with what I can only assume were the results of those not fortunate enough to successfully make the journey. I swing the door open, only to be assaulted by what I can only assume is what 10,000 diapers smell like. There was paper strewn about, and visible urine and feces... you know what? This is gross. Let's skip this part. I let out whatever sort of sound people make in that situation, and quickly closed the door. I started for the exit, not stopping as the owner yelled inquiries at me as to what my problem was. The bathroom at the thrift store next door was quite nice. I returned momentarily to wait for my husband's scrubs to complete their cycle, plenty of time to appreciate the state of the floors. Perhaps I'm being unfair. I might have caught them before the day they sweep each month. Who's to say? The rest of my visit was relatively uneventful. I left having spent 5x more than I would have for drop off wash and fold at a Grand Avenue laundry, which made me feel pretty fancy. Still, the snack machines were empty. One star.
