Skyline chili is another spot that's been around for Ions. if you are craving an over the top Hot dog with all this fixings this is your place. the chili is not like ordinary Chili it has a what taste to me like cinnamon added, so it makes it different from anything I ever tasted. I took my niece who never ate here before, and she was obsessed. Our server gave us a sample of the spaghetti, cause we had never eaten it before and it was something I'm gonna have next time I come if you're in the mood to have a cheat day and drink all the sodas and all the hotdog's this place is definitely a try.
Okay, updating this review. Nearly a year ago I gave them four stars, only because they gave me ice in my drink when I asked them not to (shame, shame, shame). Today, I ordered the four way again (don't tell my doctor) and a Diet Coke, no ice. Everything was done perfectly! I don't get here as often as I'd like, but I really do like the food. Spaghetti with chili is a fantastic combination, and I added onions, because I love onions. And I ordered a second one to go, which was my dinner tonight, so I had it twice in one day! Diners are some of my favorite places to eat, and this place is very much like a diner in its ambiance. And the service here is really excellent. Everyone makes you feel welcome. If you've never tried it, you really should. And sooner or later, you'll be back.
If you have ever visited Ohio especially Cincinnati; you are familiar with Skyline Chili!! It is a unique tasting chili that is served as a Cheese Coney, 3 Way, 4 Way etc. When I found out Skyline Chili has a location in South Florida, I was thrilled. It is located at the end of a small shopping plaza. When you walk in, it feels like a diner but very nostalgic to the locations in Cincinnati. The hometown feel was evident because the staff and waitresses knew people by their name and food order. The best part is the chili tastes exactly the same from when I had it many years ago. If you love chili, you owe it to yourself to try Skyline.
Whenever I am in the area, I must stop by Skyline Chili in Sunrise and get a Skyliner and a 3-Way!! Always delicious!! We sat at the cozy counter and spoke with the owner as she prepared our order. Super friendly and attentive staff!!
Great to have Skyline Chili in southern Florida. This location is awesome, friendly service, great authentic taste. We will definitely be back again.

Love me some Skyline Chili!! It was so nice to find our outside of Ohio! We were greeted warmly by the owners when we walked in. We heard their story of working for Skyline in Ohio, then opening their own franchise in Florida. They have been open for years, and their efficiency shows! My food was cooked and plated perfectly! I wish they would open a location in Texas!
CHILI CHAMPION ? My wife has been talking about this restaurant called Skyline Chili off University Drive for several weeks. We finally drove to the area to take a crack at it. Me being a self proclaimed Chili King and legit eight time chili champion of South East Florida, my taste buds for chili are somewhat biased, but still open minded. I parked in the plaza and walk into the end bay. At first sight, it felt like a cool retro 70's diner with a huge stainless steel flat grill displaying a line of sizzling weenies - which were later identified as a perfect mixture of beef, turkey and pork. We were greeted by the server and other staff members including the owner, Big Tony, who chatted with us in depth about his thirty-eight year old chili business - this was my kind of talk. We told him that this was our first time at Skyline, which he seemed shocked but elated that we were here to try the famous chili. We ordered a small tub of chili to-go for $10.50. As we sat at the comfortable counter awaiting our to-go order, Tony places two small bowls of "5-Way Chili" in front of us and told us to try it - I was excited and of course did not complain. The bowl comprised of chili, cheddar cheese, spaghetti, onions and beans. The scent emanating off the warm bowl was super inviting. Tony tells me to dab a little spicy & tangy hot sauce onto the chili, which I did from a clear tube. I had my first spoonful which felt like fireworks erupted in my mouth. I immediately tasted every ingredient perfectly blended together to make that first bite unforgetable. Ok, yes the chili was fresh and tasty but what the hell was in the sauce that surely enhanced everything in that bowl, I needed and wanted to know right now. Tony drops a 6oz bottle of hot sauce on the counter in front of me and the label says, "Skyline Chili", AH its your sauce.... Now, Ive tasted my fair share of chili over the years, but this chili was top notch and will be a difficult blend to dismantle in a chili cookoff event. Great chili, easy menu, good people and great prices. The bathroom was spotless too. Oh, almost forgot to mention that Tony threw in a fresh bottle of Skyline Hot Sauce into our togo order. THIS WAS A GREAT DAY !
Got an email about a macaroni dish and it looked good. Didnt realize it was mac n cheese, with shredded cheese on top of it. I thought it was plain macaroni with shredded cheese. Took 2 bites and was done. Its not good, and my pic doesnt look appetizing. I was surprised that they still charged me for it, especially when the lady asked if i liked it and i said no. Ordered the regular spaghetti after that.
CHILI SNOB! So I've driven by this establishment about 4 times. Each time saying, "I really want to try this chili." Seeing as my hubby is a multiple time contest chili winner, I'm a chili snob! However, he doesn't always make it at home which leaves me craving chili. Finally, this time I did stop. And so glad i did! Upon entering Skyline Chili I felt as if i stepped back into the 70's, with a long stainless steel bar and round barstools to match. Behind the bar was a stainless steel serving station with steel flip lids where all the food was stored for employees to prepare. There was also a flat grille with about a dozen hot dogs on it which i found out after were made of turkey, pork & beef to be topped with chili if wanted. We order a cup to go and i proceeded to tell what I thought was an employee that I've passed by here several times and finally made it in. He introduced himself asTony, the owner. He stated he has been here for 38 years along with his wife, who was not there that day. As we waited for our chili to go (about $10) we sat at the bar where he immediately placed two small bowls of "five way chili." Spaghetti, chili, beans, cheddar cheese, and onions. He stated that this was his best seller. It was amazing!!! I couldn't wait to get home and eat more, which I had for dinner. They make their own delicious hot sauce, which I didn't need, but my hubby loved. They also had a freezer of ice cream and a room decorated with sports pendants that you can rent out. I will never pass by without stopping again. Skyline chili totally satisfied my craving.
This small out of my way place is usually a treat for me when I get it. Service is very friendly as they greet you when you come in. They are quick with refills of the large drinks and give you oyster crackers and peppermint patties with your check. The chili at first had a very strong cinnamon taste but then I started craving the taste. It's all on a bed of spaghetti noodles. A mountain of cheese. Add the hot sauce to round it out. They also serve little bony chili dogs. It's worth a try.
I've never been to a skyline location outside of this one but my midwestern companions says the decor, menu, and vibe are the same as in oHIo. The chili is better fresh than in a can. You can get it without spaghetti (wierd I just can't do it). There's undersized hot dogs (coney). The service is super nice and super fast. It's a comfort food place for those used to getting the same in some corner of the Midwest.
Good, indulgent food and fast service. I placed a to-go order and it was ready in less than five minutes. I tried the cheese coney, chili cheese sandwich, and funnel fries. I really liked the cheese coney and funnel fries. They were very generous with the powdered sugar on the fries! I had them all at once even though I was trying to save some for later. There are two large areas for dining in. One area has a lot of college and university signage, which I thought was unique. I didn't like the chili cheese sandwich. I'm particular about food texture so I didn't enjoy the sogginess. I also thought it would have been a hit dog with chili topping and cheese but that was on me for assuming. Another thing I noticed was a random $1 charge for tax on my receipt, which was not mentioned anywhere. I also had to ask for a receipt and the cashier seemed reluctant to provide it. Overall, the food and service are great. I'd definitely stop in for another treat.

I came for the coney chili dogs! I have not had skyline chili in years and suddenly one day a craving of coney chili dogs came over me. Grabbed the kids and headed over to Skyline! This is Cincinnati chili and some don't like it but I think it's great. The Coney dogs are the way to experience it!! Loaded with tons of shredded cheese, don't sleep on their hot sauce it backs some heat! Always great service, they prepare it in front of you and it has an old school nostalgia to it. Kids got cheese fries! I don't recommend because the cheese they melt on it is shredded and doesn't melt well. They have a lot of chili dishes on the menu. read more
I've been coming to Skyline Chili for so long I genuinely can't remember my first visit. At this point it feels less like a restaurant and more like a life decision I made years ago and just stuck with. They've been here for 40 years, and that kind of longevity doesn't happen unless you're doing something very right. The formula is simple. No frills, no gimmicks, just food that shows up and delivers every single time. And a staff that runs the place like they've got a sixth sense for when you need more cheese or another napkin. Tonight I went with my usual, the five-way. Spaghetti, chili, beans, onions, and enough cheddar cheese to make a cardiologist raise an eyebrow. It comes out looking like a beautiful mess. Like if comfort food and chaos had a baby. One bite in and suddenly you understand all your past decisions and forgive yourself for most of them. Add a splash of their hot sauce and now we're cooking with purpose. Brought my mom for her first visit and she went with the chicken tenders and fries. I expected polite bites. Maybe a "this is nice." Instead, she absolutely crushed the plate like she was in a competitive eating league I didn't know she joined. Her review was "this is really good," which in mom terms is basically a standing ovation. Then we made the bold, courageous choice to order funnel fries for dessert. Were we full? Yes. Did that stop us? Not even a little. Crispy, sugary, and worth every single regret we don't actually have. We left full, happy, and walking slightly slower than when we came in, which feels like the correct pace after a meal like this. Pro tip: go large so you've got leftovers. Nothing hits harder than opening the fridge later and realizing past you had your back. And grab a bottle of their hot sauce on the way out. What might not look like more than a mountain of cheese served in each picture, Skyline is a place that leaves you satisfied every single time. The first thing that comes to mind when describing them is "simple." Although that doesn't seem very descriptive, I mean it in the best way possible. Small (but delicious) menu offerings, minimal customizations, cheap pricing; what more could you want? Being around since 1949 speaks for itself. While I'm not personally a big fan of the "ways" there's no denying it's a tasty creation. What could be bad about chili & cheese loaded on top of spaghetti? Their Coneys, on the other hand, are something dreams are made of. Everything from the steamed bun to the bold chili to the mustard & onions create a timeless bite... & how could I forget the pile of cheddar cheese that goes on top?! I'm not exaggerating when I say 3 can go down in the blink of an eye. The sides are also simple, yet delicious. Their fries are on the thinner side which I love. They could best be described as shoestring. They're crispy, always fresh & not overly salted. Be sure to get some cheese (or chili & cheese) on top also. If you're not into fries they also have baked potatoes that come out steaming hot. You really can't go wrong with however you order your spuds! The servers are always really friendly which makes dining in enjoyable. They work hard & do a great job at making sure tables get served quickly. The dining area is also usually kept pretty clean. There's not many in Florida so I'm glad to have this one relatively close by. Whenever I'm in the mood for a mouth watering dog I know they'll be consistent. The food was amazing omg, I just loved the cheese coneys. I also had their 5 way spaghetti. We had chosen to order takeout and service was pretty fast even though it was busy inside, the place looks a bit outdated so kind of a throwback diner. I will definitely be coming back for more. read more
I don't know how to describe one of my favorite dining experiences in all of South Florida except to say it's one of my favorite places to get lunch in all of South Florida. Being from the Midwest, there's a certain sort of comfort that comes with with eating lunch in a blue plate-style diner that has its roots firmly planted in great customer service, fair pricing, and a welcoming ambiance. The menu is simple enough. Chili and hot dogs. They have a few other items, but the chili and dogs are the flagships. You can get your chili with beans, onions, or cheese. There's always pasta under the chili. It's a certain sort of chili I grew up with, so it takes me back. The chili itself has a bit of sweetness or something to it. It isn't spicy, but it's delicious. The best thing about this place though, is the service. The same people are always working. A lot of people who are belly up to the dining counter know each other, and the employees. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Service is always fast. The check comes out fast. It's just great. Run, don't walk to Skyline. You'll love it! read more
I received a coupon in the mail for one free Skyline classic "Cheese Coney" with the purchase of a beverage. Their original way to serve up a hot dog consists of a specially made hot dog in a steamed bun topped with mustard, covered with their original secret-recipe chili, diced onions, and a mound of shredded cheddar cheese. So, I decided to use the coupon and finally try this restaurant after residing in South Florida and passing their now closed location on U.S. 1 in Fort Lauderdale for over twenty years, along with their location in Sunrise, FL. It was a Thursday afternoon around 1PM and the place was packed! There's plenty of tables, with table service, but I chose to sit at the counter, which seats about ten people. I was immediately greeted with a smile, informed the employee I had never been there, and had a coupon. So, I ordered one the original way, along with a Diet Pepsi. The hotdogs and other menu items are prepared right in front of their customers, with the hot dogs lined up on the grill, a giant tub of shredded cheese, a vat of chili and all the other ingredients they use. The hotdog was served to me hot and fresh in literally less than thirty seconds, and I devoured it just as quickly! All the components worked GREAT together, and it was delicious. The only downside is that their hotdogs are small. I guess that's why I saw people ordering two and three at a time. But to be honest, after seeing the calorie count and having recently lost 22lbs, I stuck with having just the one even though I think I could've easily enjoyed three! I'll definitely be back, as it was a tasty treat! If I remember correctly, they also do something with spaghetti, but I don't remember if it was chili on the spaghetti, and possibly a hot dog, but whatever it was, there were plenty of people ordering that too! I hate to have to leave only 4 stars the Funnel cake fries deserve 10 STARS‼ Now for the chili cheese fries... I saw so many great reviews about this place that I couldn't help but to try it. It's storming outside and the perfect weather for chili. I placed my order over the phone and when I got to the restaurant I had to wait a little longer for my food. Which is totally fine I didn't mind.. being that I had to wait for the items ordered I assumed it would be hot! The first thing I did was eat my funnel cake fries literally while I was in the parking lot it was soooo good lol I then started on my fries I was really disappointed to see my food sitting in so much liquid the fries were cold and the chili seemed to be.... If I had to name it maybe I would say stale as of it was sitting out for a while. Imagine cold soggy fries. I wanted to take it back but it was storming so bad it just wasn't worth it... In total I paid $14 to only eat funnel cake fries. Also I think it's good to mention that I came around 8 something I think they will be closing in about 30 minutes so maybe I got the last bits of food.... With that being said I'll definitely be coming back for those funnel cake fries YALL THEY ARE REALLY TO DIE FOR!! And I'll try the chili fries too but during the day when they are not about to close I've got high hopes the quality will be better. Side note: the flavor profile for their chili was very cinnamony or nutmegy kind of sweet. read more

Always a delicious quick meal! Tony is still serving up a good meal at a good price! I upgraded today to the spicy Habanero cheese on my items for that extra kick! Can never go wrong with two cheese coney hot dogs and a chili burrito! I've been eating here for over 20 years and in our area, that longevity proves it's good! read more

Wow! This was a treat. They specialize in Chili's but they do have a lot of other foods to pick from. I had the chili pasta and a couple of chili dogs that were absolutely delicious. The server and everyone were very nice and pleasant. read more
This might be the most unique chili you ever have. Why? First it is served over noodles and topped with a ton of cheesy goodness. This is what they call a three way. A four way had either chopped onions or beans. A five way had both. I got the five way. The chili is unique because it has hints of cinnamon, clove and maybe allspice. While that sounds like the start of a pumpkin spice latte, it is subtle and goes perfectly with everything! They even include a bag of oyster crackers to top this heaping plate! Don't pass by the hot sauce either! While the crackers at first seemed... Just too weird with the pasta but... It was elevated with them! Would I go back? Absolutely. But, I am glad I love 2000 plus miles away for the sake of my waistline!! read more

This place is like no other I have ever been to. You should go just for the experience. The workers welcome you in as if you were a member of the family. The food comes out quick and is hot and comforting. I have never had a chili that tastes like this. Whatever seasoning they put in there is awesome. The funnel cake fries are a 10/10 and will take you back to childhood evenings at the local fair. You can tell that they have regulars that frequent there and love to go, not only for the ambiance and food, but for the sense of community they get while eating here. read more

We had an amazing first experience at Skyline Chili When we mentioned it was our first time there, the friendly manager surprised us with free sample-sized bowls of their famous chili spaghetti, which was such a nice touch. Our waitress checked on us often, and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff made us feel so welcome and really went above and beyond. Highly recommend this place for the great service and great food! read more
